Welcome Jade_ Is that you in your AV? Come tell us more about you.

Hey SxDx, if you want to speak from a de-colonizing point of view, we ALL grew up white, bruddah ;) Just come on in here anyway and kick up your feet. We like cute guys (and wimminz, too)!

RH and bugga, your dancing bananas... ooookkkkkayyyy :D

Hi Gusty Pie :)

amon_darknight, I grew up speaking English only. When I turned 16, I started a crash course (as in total immersion) in Tagalog. I'm still learning the language. It comes and goes. I notice that when I visit with Filipinos (okay, Flips, if you want), my Tagalog deepens. Sometimes I can feel my brain reaaaaaching, strreeeetching for words and I surprise myself by what I remember, all that stuff tucked away back there from when I lived in Manila.

Hi csharp7, haven't seen you around in a too long.

erc, what a good friend you are to help pack and move. I'll be sure to keep you in mind for my next move. ;) So what is this about keeping those strange sleeping hours? Must be the academic life.

   to the Asian threadies :)

Hi folks,
Welcome for the new comers. I had been helping my friends to pack to move these days. It is a lot harder to pack than just to move.... This is a peak moving season for the foreign students since the semester is starting to end.
Hi Mia, yes chicago is getting warmer, although we did have a huge storm 2 nights ago. It was part of the storms that created a series of tornados that had killsed 30+ people.
buggawugga, try me about insomnia..... I have officially become a noctural species, rarely sleep before 6 and never get up before 1.
How is everybody doing lately?

uggghhh.. moving.... we have to soon as well... and as you get older you have much more crap to move.... now going to bed at 6am and getting up at 1pm sounds awfully familiar.... could swear I am on US time these days......

and MM... the soft crepe covered ones are what I call pohpiah....you can get them in any hawker centre in Singapore....and your description sounds soooooo yummmy....

and you should go check out Jade's thread.... she is the sweetest person....

Hi, New Here

bugga and hong, I love lumpia. Popiah is a pale second favorite.
(You two always talk about food! Mmmmm!) We have 3 basic kinds of lumpia in the Philippines--the regular fried spring rolls similar to what Chinese restaurants in America serve, then the soft crepe-covered ones that have bamboo shoots (or jicama, a poor substitute) inside with lots of crushed peanuts and minced garlic sauce on top (drool) and then the teenie weenies that we call lumpiang shanghai...just seasoned meat (usually pork, but I've made them with ground chicken for Muslim friends) wrapped in the thin spring roll skins and deep fried until they're crunchy. I think that's what hong might have been talking about.

Don't diss popiah woman :p

Everytime there's a wedding on my mum's side of the family, all her sisters and a few daughters will get together and make popiah.....the traditional process that they got from my grandmother takes two days! Tastes amazing though :)

AFM: oh you are too cute! you've been holding out on us all this time, now get nekkid before i get really mad! heehee

Roman: might i offer you this motion sickness bag for your convenience? lol jkjk

wow, this little thread IS starting to attract more attention. yay asia!
hello jade : )

oh , and new rule: no more talking about lumpiah's or any other filipino food that is greasy and tasty!

Another bonus pic....I look kinda gay in this but anyway, it's the only other good quality pic that I have

This was from your modeling portfolio for the toothpaste ad, right?

(dreamy!)

I've never had home made popiah, just bought it from hawker's centers here.

Are you familiar with kalamansi? The little limes? I keep meaning to ask you since you visited Malaysia so recently. I thought kalamansi was indigenous only to the Philippines but it's common here too. :) I love kalamansi in everything.

Groan! Are you on a diet or something, bugga? Hmm, maybe I can help...did you know that beer is made with horse piss?

Does someone have lumpia?

Hi Shingen--what kind do you want? Lumpiang sariwa or lumpiang shanghai? (Just don't tell bugga, okay?)

damn, I am getting soooooo HUNGRY.... I wish we could get kalimansi's here in Beijing........ add some juice to the blachan (chili sauce) and Oh my!!!

MM: how can you encourage AFM to reveal his magnifent torso when you can't even show my your elbow

Roman: the only thing you will be needing the motion sickness bag for will be the result of one handing... which I truly believe will be the case if we can get MM to show her "assets" as well ;)

Mmmmmm! The Filipino equivalent of belachan is bagoong and in some places, people put kalamansi in it, too. You just reminded me of that.

MM: how can you encourage AFM to reveal his magnifent torso when you can't even show my your elbow

Hey, that sounds like a fair deal! I'll post my elbow if AFM posts his torso!

doing fine MM... though I am still thinking about the banana bread from yesterday :D

so we can hold you to:
"I'll post my elbow if AFM posts his torso! " though I was hoping you might accidently slip a titty in that pic ;) hmmm, how about 2 forearms covering up your assets???

do you know what Gusty means when she *blinks me??

(damn, I wonder if their is an internet Tagalog translation site)

Moving on from elbows...

I'm all ears!

What does Gusty mean when she blinks you?

(Do we really want to scare people away with pictures of my assets and booblets? I think NOT!)

I can't judge as to how scary they may be, and know from experience that others are much more appreciative than one own's self critical eye, and I just adore little booblets ... and in case you hadn't noticed, I gave you an out.... by asking for a pic of you covering them with your arms.....cause I just cannot imagine you being a bbw.

and you must ask Gusty about the blinks ;)

I noticed that, hong. You're a gentleman, in any country. :)

I'll have to get with Gusty about the blinks, definitely.
