Well, I came across Lit a while ago....read some stories, then I discovered the message board...dun dun dun ! *insert ominous music here*

Of course, I love it ! I was always an invisible enjoyer...but, now I'm interested in actually posting.

I've enjoyed my warm welcome from all the other Litters....haha
My amount of posts is so meager tho....... :D

Don't worry about the posts.....look at Mia. I been here over two years, and her for a few months, and she's already approaching my post total.....I mean, get a life :p :D

I've been quite interested in Korean culture recently, since Korean movies and music are becoming very popular in Asia now. I saw a movie recently called Chinggu (Friends) which I thought was really good, and I've got Sassy Girl on dvd but haven't had a chance to watch it yet......do you manage to get all this stuff as you're an overseas Korean?

Hi Shingen,

This is the first time I've seen you post on the thread. Welcome, and I hope you come back. I'd wondered (having posted on your art thread) if you were Japanese or Asian, based on your Lit name.

Hi Mia, I am Filipino to be exact, but my art has a lot of Japanese influence in it...

:)

you know guys, this has got to be the best thread on Lit...

thank you MM :rose: yes i am almost all better now and Toronto seems to be recovering too. Hey, i meant to ask you, i forgot what those tasty little spring rolls are called, remind me?

I've seen My Sassy Girl, it was funny in a scary psycho ex-girlfriend kind of way!

I did not know Shingen was filipino, i assumed you were japanese for some reason

welcome SxDx and Amon, to initiate yourselves into the thread you have to share with us Korean/Japanese words for either reproductive anatomy or obscenities!

Hey all--just checking in. I used to have lots of interesting Japanese phrases, but the years and the late hour have robbed them from my mind...I'll have to check my old back issues of Mangajin.

Shingen--interesting choice for a handle--rumor has it that Takeda Shingen is one of my family's ancestors (I'm sure that the rumor is more to boost egos rather than reflect reality!:D ).

And hi to SxDx and other new thread posters--and warm greetings to the veteran posters as well!

Roman

I'm actually a very interesting case....as I was born in Korea, then adopted when I was less than 2 yrs old......so, I grew up in middle class white America.......only now am I starting to branch out

SxDx, you sound just like Bozinka.... she is an incredibly funny and warm person, also of Korean ancestry and adopted... she posted hundreds of pics on her thread Victoria's secret, but has been too busy with a new business over the past 4 months to keep us up;) she still drops into my thread from time to time..

bugga... I believe the Fillipino's use the hokkien word for Spring Rolls... LumPiah or PohPiah .... hmmm speaking of food... I wonder what happens when you mix an egg with a banana :D

lumpia!!! that's it! mmmm.... new health regimen forbids lumpia's unfortunately :(

egg+banana.... dunno but throw in some flour and sugar and you've almost got banana bread... hahaa. oh my....

well i dont really remember how to speak Japanese, i did when i was little, but i grew up in Cali, so i thought there was no need for the language, my parents thought i was werid, but i didnt care, i forced all the jap out of my mind, when i was younger it would come back to me if i listened in on a conversation or watched a jap program, but when i turned 20, i couldnt do it anymore. think that the talent went to waste, but like i always say, talent dont last forever. but i can remember a few things,

Your dirty minded- etchi wa sotchi

Dont hold me to that, i think that is what it was, so how are the asains doing tonight? I have a lot of flip friends and i love lumpia, its the bomb. hey buggawugga, you are gorgeous love the pics

ahhhhh.... but lumpia's are so good!!!! is it because they are deep fried and hard?? cause you can always go for pohpia's which are the soft warm one's filled with all sorts of goodies...... though I don't think you can make banana bread with those ;)

Oooh, ouchie.

And a general post to the Asian threadies,

bugga and hong, I love lumpia. Popiah is a pale second favorite.
(You two always talk about food! Mmmmm!) We have 3 basic kinds of lumpia in the Philippines--the regular fried spring rolls similar to what Chinese restaurants in America serve, then the soft crepe-covered ones that have bamboo shoots (or jicama, a poor substitute) inside with lots of crushed peanuts and minced garlic sauce on top (drool) and then the teenie weenies that we call lumpiang shanghai...just seasoned meat (usually pork, but I've made them with ground chicken for Muslim friends) wrapped in the thin spring roll skins and deep fried until they're crunchy. I think that's what hong might have been talking about.

Mia, still smarting from AFM's indictment

(juuusssssss kidddddingggg!)

Hello everyone. Wonderful thread here and I can't wait to get to know some of you.

Hello

Hi folks,
Welcome for the new comers. I had been helping my friends to pack to move these days. It is a lot harder to pack than just to move.... This is a peak moving season for the foreign students since the semester is starting to end.
Hi Mia, yes chicago is getting warmer, although we did have a huge storm 2 nights ago. It was part of the storms that created a series of tornados that had killsed 30+ people.
buggawugga, try me about insomnia..... I have officially become a noctural species, rarely sleep before 6 and never get up before 1.
How is everybody doing lately?
