Canada’s Fading Neighbor, the USA.

You might want to read up on the Trans Mountain Pipeline.

Canada only reduced oil shipments to China at the request of its neighbor and good friend, the USA.

When it looked like Trump was going to be elected, Canada quietly lent its Government owned TM pipeline 20B for another expansion.

Pres Trump now says the USA doesnt need Canadian oil, electricity or lumber.

Okie dokie!
Lol
You praised him.

Now, you think he is the dipshit he has always shown himself to be.

Next topic for discussion: electric turbines killing Canadian whales. Please, don't mention whale oil, or Trump is liable to have something idiotic to say about that. ;)

I’ve never praised him, i think he’s a twat.

And that you are retards for electing him… twice! Ha ha ha!

As for tariffs, all that will happen is you’ll pay more for stuff you need from Canada…. Taxed by Trump. Dummies.

If i were in charge I’d turn off the oil and water and electricity and let you freeze in the dark, cunts.

Canadians will immediately stop buying anything made in the usa…

Canada was probably your only real friend.

Fuck off and die.
Lol

Good luck with that. Last I heard Canada imports about half +/- of their food from the US.

You heard wrong. Please stay quiet when I’m talking.
As of 2019, the United States was Canada's primary supplier of agri-food and seafood products, accounting for 55.1% of Canada's total imports in this sector.

agriculture.canada.ca
This indicates that over half of Canada's imported food products originated from the U.S.

However, there has been a noticeable shift in Canada's sourcing of food imports. Between 2015 and 2019, the U.S. share of Canada's agri-food and seafood imports decreased by 3.9%, while imports from other countries, notably Mexico, China, and European Union nations, have increased.

agriculture.canada.ca

In terms of trade value, the total agricultural and agri-food trade between the U.S. and Canada was valued at $72.6 billion. Of this, U.S. agricultural exports to Canada amounted to $32 billion, with significant categories including grain alcohol ($1.7 billion), food preparations ($1.5 billion), baked goods ($1.3 billion), dog or cat food ($1.2 billion), and corn ($864 million).

These figures underscore the substantial role the U.S. plays in Canada's food supply, while also highlighting Canada's efforts to diversify its import sources in recent years.

Ahem. Who should remain quiet and respectful at the dinner table tonight?

It’s been a topic for decades in Canada.

Interprovincial fees and tariffs help sustain provincial government bloat.

Some of that changed because of Covid…. The 4 most eastern provinces dropped most inter provincial bullshit fees.

The Trump Tariffs will likely result in more inter provincial barriers disappearing… “common enemy”.

And Canadians will simply stop buying American…. Quickly.

Jack Daniels etc will be off the shelves in most of Canada tomorrow.
Its about time Inter provincial fees end. This just might be the catalyst.

That's your problem, you hear stuff and take it as fact. Drink some more carbon water, it might help clear your head...

"Inter provincial fees"? In the U.S., no tariffs are ever levied on goods shipped from one state to another. Only Congress would have to authority to impose such taxes, and it never has -- it's unthinkable for the country to be anything but a tariff union. It's different in Canada?!

Sunday night. Trump just spent about 10 minutes doing an unscripted Q&A with reporters. Touched on the news about Panama, Musk, upcoming visit by Bibi, tariffs, and other things. Talking to Trudeau tomorrow but doesn’t expect much from that. Might take a little time for Canada to figure out what they need to do.

Aspirations don't grow well to action in the frozen Arctic wastes.

It's so much simpler to be wasted . . . .

Aspiration is so fragile, and Fear is so rapacious . . . .

Yes, we have trade barriers between provinces. Remove those and we would have a much stronger internal economy. If Trump keeps up the tariffs that might happen. Be the best thing to happen here since PET's Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Not really, we just implemented reciprocal tariffs. Next comes energy. We'll see who blinks first. Imagine, a 25% export Tax levied on top of Trump's tariff on oil. US fuel prices spike. Why because the US refineries are geared up to process our oil for internal consumption. Not your STC.
The US exports their more expensive oils to overseas markets, and uses the much cheaper Canadian Oil at home. That's how it works.

I figure it could spike to $6.00 a gallon.

Second, Canada exports about 8,000 Gw of electricty per month to the US. Put an export tax on that, and a whole slew of things happen to your economy. Imagine all those Midwest steel plants paying double the price of power.

Don't believe me on the numbers, look them up yourself. You claim to be smart so even you should see how this will not be good for either country.

Last, explain why Trump is even putting tariffs on us in the first place. He cut the deal that he is now pissed off about....*chuckles*

What will Americans call their New Sales Tax?

It needs a cool name.

“Shithole Tax”?

“World Tax” sounds good.

Or maybe make the USA a Private Club, like Mar a Lago.

Countries could pay an Initiation Fee, Annual Fee and a Bar Fee!

DJT - Dick Jerking Tax, that works.

“ the DJT will cost the average american household $5900 in 2025”

Instead of prices coming down, Trumptard the Magnificent will Magically Raise Prices… on everything!

Hey, nobody said the New Golden Age was FREE!!
