Just remember...bots always have a monetary motive. They want to redirect you to another site...where you pay a monthly fee...but for that fee...you can get pics...conversations...all catered to you. It is difficult to separate reality. But money is always involvedI hear ya, thanks
Oh yes totally agree. Often it is the first few chats being sent then that comes up. I'm getting good (or better hopefully) at recognizing them, but with tech sophistication increasing it's a never ending storyJust remember...bots always have a monetary motive. It's important to send the name of the "member" to a moderator with a screenshot of anyone asking for money in PM.Oh yes totally agree. Often it is the first few chats being sent then that comes up. I will keep that in mind, though so far it has never gotten that far where they try asking for money. I usually end it prior, or say something testing and that scares them away. I remember one "woman" tried passing herself off as a wife, sent a pic but it was an older ex porn star. I mentioned she resembled her very much, that scared "her" awayIt's important to send the name of the "member" to a moderator with a screenshot of anyone asking for money in PM.
Isn't this the problem in a nutshell - the problem with social media, the problem with the world - engagement is the new measure of monetary success & fuck the rest, monetary success is all that's important - the algorithm wins. The bots have been on Lit for decades. Started on the GB. Went to the Politics Board when it was created. Now...it is everywhere. I bitched and bitched to Laurel and mods...they both said the same thing. Reality...when a website is designed to make money on "posts"...those that matter don't give a fuck if it is a real person or a fake person. Look...this isn't unique to Lit. 80-90% of ALL online posts are generated...not real. It is difficult to get real numbers cause it is morphing so fast. Yet it all could go away today if Lit tracked IP addresses or asked for a credit card. So since none of you are willing to do those things....you get what you have.
It usually starts with a sad but believable background story before any sting is unleashed. I find that to be the first red flags - too many sad facts piled on top - I like to play along and empathise in order to draw out more & more hard-luck stories - just to be treated like a gormless fool & see how far they will go - I enjoy scamming the scammers & exposing themI will keep that in mind, though so far it has never gotten that far where they try asking for money. And yet there's a dichotomy here - any sniff of AI in creating stories is not tolerated here - why?
But not for human posters or members? See the dichotomy?Because the site is for HUMAN writers and members. Just a wild guess.
It’s exclusively for human members. Bots get canned once proven. But not for human posters or members? See the dichotomy?
I’m sure I’ve got it wrong as well, but some profiles and stories are so extreme that the ‘it’s too gods to be true’ feeling kicks in.But I have been badly wrong once when chatting over a few weeks with a woman here - just ordinary chat. Her life circumstances is so like the background of a scammer that I asked her directly, maybe even accusatory and she proved everything that she had said with pictures & links to colleges & sites that were real. Of course she was pissed with me as a result & cut off the communication. I told her I had been catfished before asked her to check with her friend who she also told me had been catfished, if her profile wasn't the epitome of a catfish background. That's how I left it & never heard any more but I believe she is genuine.
But once done, there's no going back from this
Name names!I’m sure I’ve got it wrong as well, but some profiles and stories are so extreme that the ‘it’s too gods to be true’ feeling kicks in.
There’s a very prolific poster I see here. She posts a lot, posts a lot of pics from her ‘porn’ and sex club days. Her stories are so out there that it’s almost laughable. I’m 90% sure shes fake and has amassed someone else’s pictures but I can’t be sure.
Do you not believe what Dribble said in his post? It’s exclusively for human members. Bots get canned once proven.
Calm down! It's Christmas!Do you not believe what Dribble said in his post?

For a start, that's a perfect cover "porn & sex club days". I know, I prefer not to be cynical but the world forces you into that attitude.I’m sure I’ve got it wrong as well, but some profiles and stories are so extreme that the ‘it’s too gods to be true’ feeling kicks in.

I haven’t even told anyone my real name is Stayhard GoodwoodThis is why I keep all of my porn and sex club days to myself, can’t be out here risking my super authentic reputation![]()
Oh okay. I’m sure that’s exactly what she saidDo you not believe what Dribble said in his post?

I'm just making the point that the online world is run by algorithms which exploit human frailties - this site is no different to the thousands of other sites & forums, otherwise, to join it some proof of being a human would be asked for.Oh okay. I’m sure that’s exactly what she said
It’s bs. Even those here mostly for pics enjoy the ampics and the chats because they enjoy real people - plenty of pro porn out there
And the revenue streams aren’t hidden; toys, chat lines
Think you need to follow the advice above and calm down lol
I would argue this point, but I sense I’d be debating with a bot at a rudimentary stage of development…I'm just making the point that the online world is run by algorithms which exploit human frailties - this site is no different to the thousands of other sites & forums, otherwise, to join it some proof of being a human would be asked for.
