Comments That Make Your Day

Just got this from Anonymous on Micki and the Firefighter.

---

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I am working my way through your work, the only stuff I'm reading on here at the moment. I like the love and romance so much more than the usual porn clichés. You create such interesting characters with genuine depth, real feelings and inner lives, people who the reader cares about. The roller coaster twists and turns make me smile, cry and cheer with relief for the inevitable happy ending. Thank you for sharing your gift with us, x

Here's a couple from my most recent story which made me smile. It's always nice to hear from people that appreciate the beauty of the slow-burn.

From Anonymous:
Outstanding! This is the kind of story I'm always HOPING to find here. Complexity, ambivalence, plot, and character development. Well-written and highly erotic. I can't wait for part 2!

From Adyitzy (who has never used the forums):
The horror aspect got me intrigued but the beautiful relationship between the siblings was what really got me hooked. This extends beyond erotica and is a genuinely great piece of writing.

I'm rather proud of the high proportion of positive Anonymous comments on 'A Game Of Snooker', which was posted in Loving Wives four months ago and is my most-read story. I had this one yesterday which, like some others, also explains the plot to the more simple-minded anonymous commentators (spoiler alert).

That was creative and refreshing. A LW modern Game of Thrones. Catherine plotted and set up a pre-emptive chain of events that with Matthew's help, took out the villains (and her husband's mistress) and let her escape the trap she had fallen into. 5 stars

Most of them miss that the male lead and narrator (Matthew) is driving a lot more of the story than he is letting on, but that's okay -it's still really nice to have so many positive anonymous comments in a LW story where the female lead comes out on top. I expected it to be absolutely slammed for that reason. It really showed me that LW is not just for trolls and other bottom-feeders.

I've tried so many times to put into words why I write the stories I do. Anonymous did it for me just a fwe minutes ago.
On my story Halftime:

I love the positivity in your stories, the tolerance, acceptance and love. Each tale is an emotional roller coaster and I smile and cry and smile again along with your characters. If I ever find that lamp with the genie in I will wish for the real world to be like the one you create. Thanks for another great story x

Okay, I just got one on Life Drawing for Developing Artists that made me laugh out loud:
Anonymous
Wow, this story has everything. Futa x Male pairing, cute bff, side characters, actual plot set in context, humour, and last but not least trageideigh names. It almost feel sorry j***** off to it, same way I wouldn't on an ancient Roman bust.
Please j*** guilt-free Anon, you made my afternoon

I got this one today on my most recent story. Trailer Park Trixie Pt. 02 and then he mentions a previous story. Nice that folks are enjoying my stories enough to check out my other work. Thanks to @S_Fox for the smile.

Loving your storytelling, (although hardly likely to be true), you weave such ordinary detail into the tale it seems entirely plausible. AND, very enjoyable. I hope you find the extra mileage I think this story has.
Hot Rod Hotties was a real growth from your early work, with clever use of the cars to provide the stories spine, this has been even better, UNTIL YOU GIVE US MORE !!

I read this as “This story crossed so many lines for me that I would have turned into a demented moralist jerking off to the pictures I used to ruin the lives of others.”

Lol

Somehow this feels like success.

This one also made me laugh.

“I really enjoyed this incest free story in “Toys and Masturbation” even though I was looking for incest!”

I really felt complimented by this.

This is an old one, but Anonymous wrote this on my very first Lit story, where one character works at a drugstore pharmacy:
As a pharmacist, I can tell that someone has spent a lot of time at a retail counter here. Great idea for a story. Love it. Thanks for writing it

The thing is ... I've never worked at a pharmacy. I made it up, and it convinced an actual worker. I preened.

(I thought of this while researching something else for a current WIP. I hope it's that convincing.)

The one that made me feel good was a comment on my first "Non-Erotic" piece called, "Last Kiss Goodbye."

@GrandPaM left the following:

Ah...a moral man doing "the right thing". Excellent. Too often, we men do much less loving things than this.

Some of you may not understand what I meant by that.
It was loving of him to honestly share his feelings for her.
It was loving of him to care enough for his wife to walk away from her.
It was loving of him to tell her goodbye and mean it, as it set her free as well.
It was loving of him to let her know why they could not contact one another again.
It was loving of him to NOT succumb to temptation when she, in turn revealed her return feelings toward him.
We are all tempted by the heated flames of our passions at times, but sometimes there are more important things in our lives than we can afford to indulge ourselves in.

Does that help?

All the comments I have gotten for that piece were important to me, but this one stood out and reinforced my confidence in my writing.

It is nice when a comment tells you someone else got what you were trying to do. Best validation there is. 🫂

Yet another one I just got. I truly love these comments and they make me work harder to put out quality work for my readers. This is another one regarding my Chambers House series.

Thank you @Damonkey916.

Perhaps one of the best stories on Lit. Carmine has put a lot of effort into ensuring the feelings of the MC and the house’s girls are able to be “felt.” I feel so badly for Amanda. Her granddaughter is within distance to hold. She is in love with the MC and may never be able to have him. Hopefully, Carmine has a few twists to help her. I found this chapter very clean and easy to read. 5🌟

I got two comments today on my newest story which made my day. First because I got 2 comments on the same day on the same story. Second because of what they were.

Comment 1 from jessicaraven
Stories about oral sex are just hot, especially when written as well as this. 5 stars.
Given it is not a story about oral sex but rather a story with oral sex I am really quite pleased it can be seen crossing categories and just seemed to tickle jessicaraven the right way.

Comment 2 from anonymous
Damn, they are both married to complete assholes.
Why yes, they are. I am so glad that someone is invested enough in the story to note that fact (which honestly is written to be as obvious as a bonfire in the desert as night).

That commenter is going to be happy... mad... something when chapter 3 comes out and we see a bit more about one of the spouses.

The best comments are the constructive ones. I had this from @TheKidGoesWest on Part 2 of my 'Three's The Charm' story, which is rolling out over three consecutive days right now. It's in Loving Wives so of course some of the commentary so far (on Part 1 in particular which has a cuckold episode) is pretty full on and it had a heap of 1-bombs. But then you get really thoughtful readers like this. And you know what? His criticism is exactly right. I'll be thinking about a revision to address it.

----

Continues to be a fun romp.
I think my only criticisms, small as they are, all kinda involve Steph. This was her chapter sure but there wasn't a whole lot of interaction with her husband. Until the three way, he wasn't very present unlike his chapter where she featured prominently.
I get it, probably a story flow thing but it ended up making the emotional core suffer a bit. Almost makes her seem cold. I think you missed on giving us a conversation about them getting good after getting home, after all he had said that things were still very much up in the air about them being ok.
Still, this isn't exactly a serious drama, so mostly just my personal wish list lol
Can't wait to see where the ride takes us in the finale.

I agree... The only comments I delete are the ones that seem intentionally hurtful or malicious or if they comment Anon. Everything else stays, even the bad. We learn from the negative comments, maybe more than we do from the positive ones. I especially appreciate the negative ones where I have asked the person to expand on what they did not like so I can either address it in the context of the story... because maybe they missed the point, or expand on or point out a mistake I made.

From those, I get something out of it from the commenter, and I learn something. It's a give-and-take. I create for them, the readers, and they teach me about my writing by praising it or pointing out something I did wrong so that I can do better the next time.

I've had no comments for a while. I found some hen's teeth, so the comments are truly harder to find.
So true - strange how some authors get floods of comments and others a few.
I have many with none (even popular (for me) and hot ones) so I don't know what I am doing right or wrong!
