Comments That Make Your Day

I'm not sure if this counts as making my day, making me shake me head, or just leaving me feeling uncomfortable.

This came in an e-mail feedback this morning, unclear what story is being discussed.

At least they said please.

Happily surprised when someone says they’ve read a story multiple times …

shadracht commented on my “Intervention Wife” story:
“reread for the Nth time. It's silly, and a little stupid, but damn if it's isn't fun, and happy, and lovely (and sexy). One of my favorites.”

Thank you, shad. Fun, happy and a bit stupid is an excellent description.

"That was a 30 minute walk on an erotic tightrope. Delicious tension plus moral dilemmas plus beautiful women. Just superbly done, my dear. I think the ability to ratchet up your reader’s thermostat without an explicit sex scene makes you a true eroticist."

After 10+ years on/off on Literotica, I still doubt my ability to write the kind of stories that I first started with - short, single scene, tension building, and without any real physical contact, or with little physical contact. I picked this weird lane a long time ago and, even though I write more explicit stories nowadays, it's comforting to know that the original formula still works and that I still got "it"

Another nice comment on Hidden Boss:

Good story. I was a little put off by the first interaction between Caroline & Chris, but that worked out.

As far as the 'glass ceiling' in the bedroom, That's very cool at night when it's dark, but when the sun comes up early in the morning, it's annoying. (I stayed in a hotel with skylights once, and didn't like the early morning light. I prefer a dark bedroom.) Just sayin'.

Just in on ‘A Twist In The Plot - the sequel’, written in 2024. As I just mentioned in another thread, the story combines theatrics, comedy, group sex and the recovery from domestic violence, so it was a bit edgy and difficult to write.

What a wonderful breath of fresh air! I really had no idea when I started this story where it might lead. It was sexy, enlightening and very different. Thank you for the terrific tale. I haven't yet looked for other entries from this author, but I certainly will be soon. Keep up the good work!

seyasoma left the following gem on Shannon's Offer, in which Chris battles to overcome leaves, the HOA, and his wife's inhibition.

“ROTFLMAO!! What at a story! Your sense of humor is unmatched on this site! Since I live in the Deep South, my miniature dachsunds complain you left out St Augustine! Your intricate details of Bermuda, Zoysia and HOAs left many tears in my eyes! I loved that this is mature love with LIFE behind them! Thank You for a 9 out of 5!”

I woke up to a really wonderful comment from @LadyLovelace on Accessibility Compliance 😍

Oh, this is delightful. Easily the most fun I’ve had reading a story here. The story doesn’t drag, the framing is fun and informative. Scout is exactly my favorite kind of weird. I am looking forward to the rest of Scout’s adventures.

Comment posted on the second part of The Adventures of Ranger Ramona, presumably regarding both chapters.

It's a good day when someone gives you bonus points just for a character's name.

For those who are not familiar with it, a pine marten is a small, arboreal weasel, found in coniferous forests in Canada and the northernmost US. The character, Clarence "Piney" Martin is a veteran Maine forest ranger. Think Sam Elliot.

Pine martens are friggin' adorable 🥰 I got one in my Big Book of Anthros.

I also put a lot of thought into names (probably way more than I should) and it's always nice when someone brings it up. Always happy to see other people using punny or clever names.

Got this for 'Change Management', which had a mixed reception over in Erotic Horror, including one reader claiming that it didn't fit the category. The main story involves a senior manager seducing and then cannibalising middle management, although it's possible that some readers missed what was actually going on. I'd been quite proud of the research behind the story, including going to a few change management courses myself and also looking up the original Italian text of Machiavelli's The Prince to do a bespoke translation of a critical phrase*. Very grateful to have veteran author @BenLong springing to my defence and reflecting on his lived experience: thank you, Ben. I'm going to put you forward to senior management for special attention.

So many corporations have “top down” directions while those most capable of supplying the solution are the one closest to the problem… but never get asked or their offerings are squelched.”

Ben is a great comment giver. Sometimes they go a little off the wall, but he reads and digests a story in full. A great author and a great reader. A rare but not unheard of combination.

Well, my latest story has received over 160 comments over the past 3 days, so I'm still trying to process through all the positive and negative feedback. That said, I saw that there was also a new comment on an old chapter of Botched, so I took at peek at the story. I found four comments I had not seen before, all positive, and they absolutely warmed my heart.

Anon wrote: Well, I haven't read any comments on this chapter (intentionally) but after my first reading, as the tears were rolling down my face, ... The writing was powerful and provided a much needed look into Carrie's childhood and the relationship she originally had with her father, Danny, and her religion. Absolutely outstanding, regardless as to which way this story progresses. Congratulations on evoking the emotional response you generated with me and hopefully numerous other readers. Thank you for a job well done.

Anon wrote: I've now read this chapter 3 times and i cried each time. i'm not even religious. its mind blowing how good this writing was. i dont think anything has touched me this deeply since The Road or maybe The Stand. I can't think this writer more for this work. This is literature. Probably up there with anything else I've ever read. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Please keep writing and ignore the assholes!

Non-Anon wrote: The emotional turmoil of this chapter is fantastic. Truly gritty stuff.

Non-Anon wrote: Wow! I mean, this chapter blew me away. It's so powerful, so emotional, and so compelling. I didn't see this coming, and I'm surprised at all the positive feedback on this site, but it's so very rewarding. Thanks for taking us here.

This is so incredibly rewarding!
