Know what I wish? I wish their was a candidate who is not 'the lesser evil'. I really good candidate, one who I really believe in. That would be so awesome. Not gonna happen, but awesome nonetheless.

It boils down to this - no matter what party they're on, they're liars and hyprocrites. How do I know? Cause you don't make it far enough in politics to be running for president unless you are a liar and a hypocrite. *shrugs*

You're totally right, and it sucks. A LOT.

*LOL*

I spend the last 4 months trying to get off of the T3WD Board as Vice President, and know you want me to throw my hat in the ring as Yang's running mate? ? ? WTF? ? ?

I don't want to run a group and y'all want me to get involved in running a country. *shakes his head* Boggles the mind...

Okay... I'm in.

A submissive on every cross! A flogger in every toybag! All the masochists at my place on Friday!

"A sub and a Dom for every switch...."

Oh, wait, maybe that's just me who wants that. :p

I will never forgive him for turning his back on the Gay community. He had the bully pulpit but when push came to shove, he chose political expediency.

We're used to it. Even Paul Wellstone did it.

I hope I live to see the day queer folk are not a political albatross.

Thank you all for not branding me an ignorant yank hater. I'm not you know. I like you just fine as individuals & don't blame most of you for George W, except those of you who choose not to vote. That's bad, guys. If you don't have your say, see what you end up inflicting on the rest of the world.

Be realistic. No president is going to support a cause which might damage his prospects of doing the "do able" things. Big changes take time to accomplish & the timing has to be right as well.

Any President is going to do silly things from time to time, they're human, except for George W who is a poorly written cartoon character. In his main speech here today he called the conference OPEC, not the correct APEC. I'm sure he wonders why we all think his Iraqi War is all about the oil LOL LOL.

Fred, well yes, we all know him & I love his accent (southern??) but as Sir Winston points out, playing a DA on television does not a president make.

Whatever you do please make sure that those religious zealots are stopped in their tracks and get no more power.

I'm not interested in winning a popularity contest after 19 guys flew our planes into our buildings. Iraq is just another front in the war. Had we not invaded Iraq the same fucks would be in Afghanistan. The deaths in Afghanistan have gone up every year regardless. I'm all for getting out of the entire region once they agree not to attack us again. It is us running with our tails between our legs for the last 38 years that got us in this mess in the first place.

Actually I agree with you for the most part, however popularity with your allies IS important and has been badly damaged by your present administration.

As Netz said, the worldwide sympathy has been squandered, mainly because your allies have no faith in or respect for your current president. I'm sorry, but he comes across as an idiot, blundering here & there & achieving nothing. Just yesterday he thanked our Prime Minister & our wonderful "Austrian" troops. He's made that same mistake on a number of occasions. It's disrespectful & it's getting old.

Yes, you need strength & determination in a president, but you also need one with charisma, particularly now, and brains. Hillary (& Bill) or Rudy might just do it & get your allies back on side.

I honestly believe he is drugged. Prescription meds that he's not able to keep down as well as Jack Kennedy. Please consider this possibility. It's not a tin-foil hat one at all, I look and listen and that's all I can come up with.

Hmmm. Right now I am reading Barack Obama's "Dreams from My Father" for class, and I think by the time I am done I will find myself voting for him in the primary. His background is just so damn interesting.

I note with great interest that as many people are rightward leaning as leftward leaning on this forum. I extrapolate humbly that unlike other sex-themed forums, a large number of folks here come from Red States (not that there's anything wrong with that).

This is what makes Lit fascinating -- there's a dearth of Californians on this forum. I mean, I find that fascinating, and I find Lit fascinating, and I'm a Californian (at least by birth)

I'm likely to vote Barack, but the truth is, Hilary nailed that foreign policy question on YouTube, and that inspires enormous confidence at a time when foreign policy is so critical. *sigh* and then there's the issue of the deficit.

I've read his book as well - and what impressed me as much as anything is that he wrote it himself. He didn't hire a ghost writer like so many other politicians do when it's time to show that they're smart enough to write a book.

Thank you, Shankara. I was feeling like the only ass on this thread.

Like your little donkey.

It's ok, their are lots of asses on this thread. Not me, but a lot nonetheless. I've learned that I don't argue politics well, so I won't. I get all the facts and stuff jumbled up, and end up looking like an idiot.

On the other hand, I kinda wish AA would show up. He's great on arguing politics. He does it without being rude, but still makes his points and backs them up.

I'm probably going to get yelled at for this but its on Thursday.

I will not be voting for Hilary because I have no desire to have a female president. Personally I don't think I ever want to see that happen.

I'd vote for Bill though.

I could vote for a female. Just not THAT one.

I could...

I think if it was a choice between her and a republican... than I would, I am ready to see some tax relief. Democrats are usually better about social services and lower taxes...

I am only saying this because I am not super farmiliar with her stance on a lot of topics, But I don't bother with voting since the popular vote doesn't really decide the president...

Gotta love it...

You are right. It's apparently the Supreme Court. Just in case anyone thought we were in a first world democracy or something. Happy voting!

I need to retract my earlier statement in this thread that I plan to vote for the senator from New York when our primary happens. It's just not going to happen. The way that her campaign has used lowest-common-denominator ugly smears to try to get people to dislike Senator Obama have me foaming at the mouth. They've used patsies and stand-ins to slur his name, his faith, his purpose, and his character.

Enough already. She is a conniving, secretive, hostile, arrogant person - all of which has become much more evident in the last month since both Obama and Edwards, though chiefly Obama, have equalled her popularity.

Yes, I could vote for her. I haven't decided who I will be voting for yet, but it could be her. I was teasing my husband last night and told him that our economy was great when she ran the country for eight years last time.. *giggles*

The best thing that could happen for any Dem. candidate would be for Huckabee to get the Republican nom. That guy is so far up the Consertive Christian's collective asses that most moderate/liberal republicans won't vote for him, and will either vote third party or vote for the Dem nom. if they are remotely "conservative."

That said, I would vote for Hilary but i am hoping she doesn't get the nomination at all.

I still gotta say, lying about having sex with someone (or having extramarital sex with someone) is far from the worst thing a person could do. I'd much rather have a President who acknowledges their humanity than one who believes he's God on earth.

I always said that at least for me it wasnt that he lied about having an affair that bothered me. It was that he pressured her into committing perjury to cover it up. It's one thing to say, "Dont tell my wife." and other to say, "Lie to the judge when they ask."
