I needed time away from the castle. Needed time to think. I left Celeste with Jade, explaining to her what I'd seen between her and the Prince and asking that she keep a close eye, then i was off, heading back out into the night to find a quiet spot alone.
The humans nested on the far West side of the island mostly, in a large area spanning almost thirty square miles they called "The Bay." Clever name, I often thought, sarcastically, as the name had come from the fact that their large city was located next to the Dark Bay, named after the island. There, times had almost not changed. THey lived their lives in peace with one another (one thing that HAD changed, for certain) and went about their lives for the sake of living them. Others had moved into the forrest, breeding there and creating what we referred to as the herd, which currently consisted of literally thousands of them, living off the land and hiding at night from both werewolves and vampires alike.. THe islnd was large, spanning more than one-hundred miles EAst to West, and twice that North to SOuth. We inhabited to the East, residing in a large Palace that spanned over three hundred yard in length and one-hundred yards in depth, standing five stories. The palace gave us the shelter we needed, and the protection, as the grounds outside of it were stalked by many of the other beasts that resided on the island, and housed more than 1200 vampires, over nine-hundred of which were Bloods, and the rest Half-bloods.
Other vampires, of both varieties, chose to reside in the wooded areas outside, spanning so far as halfway across the island, living in relative peace instead of the half- civil war status that we lived in. The werewolves tended to remain to the North, although many also remained scattered here and there. The wolves, unlike the vampires, tended to travel in flocks, and weren't so enclosed as we. They had a king, just as we did, but unity was a problem for them as well. Many answered only to themselves and their tribe-leader. The king's castle rested on a large cliff to the North. Few vampires had ever seen it, as we had little reason to go there.
The South, on the other hand, was No-Man's Land. The trees there grew so thick and near one another that travel was almost impossible for any race, and only legends existed of the kinds of creatures that existed there. Often, humans would wander that way and return in a state of trance, attempting to consume the flesh of others until the man would be put down, killed only by a sharp hit or bullet to the brain-stem. "Zombie" had become the word, but I'd never seen one personally. Hell-hounds, however, I had seen. And they were a creature one wished to not ever see again.
The islands center had become a melting pot, consisting of the "Herd" of humans, the left-overs of both werewolves and vampires, who often fought there over matters of food, and a few straggling creatures from the south, which would often slay a few people or creatures before meeting their demise to a group, often too strong to be killed by only one of any race.
All and all, the island was peaceful, no real issues of power erupting between vampire and werewolf, and the Humna city often left alone by both factions, as the Herd and the forests wildlife provided us the food we needed. Funny that so many wanted war, the werecreatures had certainly caused such ruccous in Africa, seeming to opverthrow the African Vampire king, although rumors had surfaced of his survival. I guessed the rumors to be true. The age of a vampire often determined his strength, and the king in Africa had been one of the oldest living at the time of his supposed demise, making him near invinvible. Although his body would be subject to its own frailties, giving the impression of weakness.
I found a spot in the islands center and climbed into a tree, watching below me as a small clan of werewolves traveled beneath me, glancing up when they caught my scent. I remained still, not wanting to show any aggression toward them, and they passed quietly by...
OOC: I wanted to give a basic structure to the island, so we knew where everyone was. If anything I've written contradicts what someone else has done, PM me and we'll work it out. This isn't written in stone, and it's also written from Javen's perspective, which make s it subjective to what he knows, and leaves out what he doesn't know...and the Prince has been up to no good in respect to the werewolves.
Now, with this part out of the way, where on the island is everyone? If you're on the island...I'd appreciate an answer from everyone, so i'll know who I can or cannot interact with.
