Dark Isle

Lucas stepped forward, "Well I can tell you that we're probably dealing with a demon from the way the victims were killed. It looks like their heads were bashed open and their brains were removed. The most convincing piece of evidence though is that it seems the bodies were drained of all life, in other word their souls were removed. Only demons do this. I also want to remind you that a few of the victims were also vampires."

OOC: Morgoth where are you on the island?

"Ow, ow ow ow ow."
A stiff pain hit his back as he rose. Sleeping in a chair was not a good idea. It pinched his spine like nobody's business. A warm fruity smell entered his nostrils.
What in the?
He nearly ran into the kitchen, looking in horror as Dawn was stirring up batter.
"Are you crazy?" he nearly yelled, opening the back closet. Inside two shotguns presented themselves. He grabbed them, as well as an entire box of shells.
He cocked one, then the other. Without bothering to look back he ran to one of the front windows.
Shit.
A lone wolf paced back and forth. Dark and deep were it's eyes. It had smelled them.
No. no no no no.
What had she done? Signed their death warrants that's what.
He kicked the door open, aiming the shotgun.
"You're still human enough to hear me. Leave or I'll shoot."
The wolf tried to move forward... but then stopped again. It didn't walk away however. Out in the darkness two more came running up. He aimed, waiting for them to come closer. No way was he going to let the shots go to waste. A shotgun was only lethal to a werewolf if shot less than a hundred yard. Otherwise, he might as well had just been throwing a bunch of bb's at the thing.
The two stopped just where the first one did. They too began to pace.
"What the fuck..." his eyebrow went up slightly. What was going on? They were not surrounded by three hungry wolves who wouldn't come close to the house? He had never seen this before. When a wolf had ever caught scent of this place he had always been forced to take it down. They didn't stop. This was something entirely new.
Were they getting smarter?
He doubted it.
Then what was going on?
Dawn.
"Dawn, dear?" he asked, propping one shotgun on his shoulder while the other hung loosely in his grip, "Can you tell me why exactly I have three wolves outside just stalking the place?"

Javen

"Perhaps they are from the South of the island," Celeste interjected.
I glanced back at he, irritated. It was impolite for non-royalty to speak at such meetings. She looked at me, as though my look had wounded her, then looked down, glancing back at me spitefully. She acted like a spoiled child. Then I saw her lips stretch into a smile, and followed her eyes to those of the Prince, who smiled back at her.
Just what i needed. Another challenge.
"Funny, I have heard nothing of missing vampires," the King muttered, trying to appear thoughtful.
"I have," I returned, "Several of my kind were reported missing recently. Search parties have not yet been sent, but I will send some to examine the bodies for identification if our guests will give them a location."
"Half-Bloods," the Prince said, as though that ended the conversation, "There. All done, no tragedy."
His smile widened as he looked to his father, then he stood walking over to our guests and offering his hand to them.
"Sorry we couldn't be of more assistance..." He said.
"perhaps," I interjected, trying not too appear as angry as I felt, "It would be best if we took better part in this ordeal. It may prove an equal threat to us all, your Highness."
The King was irritated with me, wanting the wolves to leave, but he seced to me.
"Very well," he agreed, "We will send a few of ours with you, but we cannot spare them for long."

OOC: Poohlive I can't seem to find your char name and I can't remember it for the life of me ... sorry

IC: Dawn saw him run past her grab some shot guns and run out the door before she could say good morning. Shaking her head she giggled when he stared confusingly at the wolfs who continued pacing back and forth snarling. She pushed at them with her mind causing them to take a few steps back and glare at her as she exited the house. "Dawn, dear?" he asked, propping one shotgun on his shoulder while the other hung loosely in his grip, "Can you tell me why exactly I have three wolves outside just stalking the place?" she smiled and instinctivly placed her hand on his arm. "I cast a barrier spell around the house. Nothing evil can enter here so you can relax" she turned her gaze to the wolves shuddering at the evil she saw in their eyes. "Lets go inside. This will last for a full day so you don't have to worry about them anytime soon. Plus I baked Pancakes with fresh berries. Come eat" she hurried into the house to turn off the stove. Then she grabbed a few plates and set the table. "How many do you want?" her eyes sparkled, she didn't know why but for some reason being in this cabin and being with this guy felt utterly and completely right.

Ooc: I have so many names in this thread it's not even funny. You'd think I would be smart and just stick with one, but then again, I'm not very smart when it comes to that. lol.
I went back to the first page, I only mentioned my name once in this entire thread, it's Joe.

Barrier spell?
Looking back, he saw the wolves outside, simply walking carefully. An entire day to not worry about evil. There was a pleasent thought.
What to do with all this time? He hadn't had more than an hour of free time to himself since this whole things started. Now, an entire night?
Well, what should he do.
The smell hit him.
Thats what he'd do, eat pancakes. Greedily, he licked his lips, sitting down among the banquet.
"Just pile them on," he said, picking up a fork, "I haven't had any food that's been hot since marshmallows last summer."
Like a ravenous dog he dug into the food. It was delicious, better than delicious. He had never tasted anything like it, his mouth sang with taste.
"Mmmm, this is wonderful, you must be a chef back home."
Finishing, he gave her a wonderful smile.
"Well, thank you so much," he cleared the dishes, looking back outside. Another wolf had joined the others. Man... whoever thought pancakes would be a calling card for every wolf within a couple miles.
From evil?
Why was something wrong with that in his mind?
He knew why...
Not all these monsters were pure evil. He had known a couple of vampires that had been very nice actually. One was a friend of his from his old days back in high school. They had talked for hours one night, just reminiscing.
So, what if a good hungry vampire or wolf just happened to be walking by and sniffing the "Human's Here Pancake Jamboree."
Concerned, he walked over to Dawn.
"Are you sure about this spell? It just blocks out evil?"

She smiled glad he enjoyed her cooking and overly pleased by his complements. "Are you sure about this spell? It just blocks out evil?" She looked up in surprise. She had been fantasizing again that they were in their own little cottage with children running around. Shaking her head she wanted to laugh at her silly ideas. "Yes I"m quite sure, it blocks out any evil creature including those with an evil intent in their hearts. Believe me it's quite effective. I can tell your worried about those vampires and Werewolfs who aren't completely evil but they aren't able to enter either, it's very hard to explain. It's protected my village for years I think it can protect us for one day" she smiled "now what do you want to do since we have all day free of evil?" her mind wandered in a dangerous direction and she blushed from her wayward thoughts.

Setting down the shotguns, finally, he breathed in deeply. Relaxation was new to him. A whole day to himself? He better make those repairs he'd always wanted to do on the cellar. That really wasn't what she had planned though.
Oh... if he could just go bowling, for a couple of games at least. He had been such a good bowler, hadn't played since most of the power from the cities had gone out.
"I'm not sure, it's been so long since I've had a rational moment to myself, I am still thinking about survival..."
He arched his back, and a sudden pain hit him. The aches and pains from sleeping all that time in the chair was getting to him again.
"Ow, ow, ow, ow..." he leaned on the counter.
Then he got an idea.
"What about a massage? My back is killing me, and I sure would appreciate it if you could rub for a few minutes at least. Unless, you have a spell to get out kinks in a back. Either way I'd be grateful."

OOC: My post will answer where I am approximately.

IC: Pancakes? He smelled them and knew man was around here. They smelled good but a soul always tasted better. He ran into the clearing where a cottage stood. It was being circled by three werewolves. "Mmmmm, this should be tasty", he muttered to himself. Screams rose up as he launched himself on the wolf. Joe and Dawn rushed to the window and watched in horror as the werewolves screamed madly as they were torn apart by Ularkle, blood and innards flying everywhere. They saw as he set his hand into the beasts' hearts, one by one, and as the color drained from them. Then, he sprang away into the forest, putting his sword back into his arm.

Deric ran through the forest with a seething rage inside him. He had overslept and he was hungry.... he was extremely hungry. He bounded through the forests, snapping branches as he did and before long he came upon a human who seemed to be alone. Before she knew if he was upon her, his teeth at her throat and her scream dying as it was ripped away.

Within seconds he had killed the human and was feasting on her when he thought about what he had just done. He had told himself that he would never kill a human but he had just done so. Is that what would push him over the edge- hunger? He looked down at the woman, the look of terror and the scream still on her face and bounded away into the forest, a loud howl following him.

Lucas went scouring the country side for this demon with a pack of wolves and a couple vampires donated by the king. They had just about given up when a messanger wolf came running towards them, "Good sir, the demon attacked my pack, he's over by the cottages. Just follow the scent of pancakes." As unusal as it sounded Lucas traced the sent and discovered Ularkle feasting on the wolf pack. Lucas morphed into his Panther-Man from as he yelled, "DROP MY BROTHERS YOU FOUL DEMON AND PREPARE FOR BATTLE!!!"

Ularkle looked in surprise at all of the hostiles. He soared into the air and thre a ball of fire at the pantherlike one. He then flew into a clearing a few miles away and began to find a hiding spot for the night.

Lucas awoke to find his search party looking down at him. "What happend.?...agghh...my chest." Hooper the white wol expalined what happened, "The Demon hit you in the chest with a fireball, we didn't know if we should move you or not." "Really, how long have I been here?" "About 2 and a half hours." Lucas got to his feet, "Well the demon is probably long gone by now." "Yes sir it seems we startled him." "He's still on the loose though, and that's not good at all. Hooper, send a message to the vampire king, explain to him that we need to have an emergency meeting. I'm going to have to contact some people to help us hunt down the demon, but I need everyone's cooperation. Meet us back at the wolf's castle." Hooper darted towards the vampire's castle while Lucas and the rest of the party headed toward the wolf's castle.

It was then that Deric heard it- the sounds of a battle. He turned and ran in the direction that they had come from and was surprised when he came upon Lucas who appeared to be injured. He stopped and changed into his human form then asked, "What happened here. What attacked you?"

Lucas turned to Deric, "Wolf-Brother Deric, it turns out a demon is loose and is responsible for the murders of our brothers. Brother Hooper, the white wolf, has just gone to visit the vampire king to see if we can get his support in battle with the demon, many vampires have been slain as well. Have you seen the demon or anything unusual?"

Deric was taken aback by this news.... a demon was attacking everyone on the island and there was to be an alliance with the vampires?! He looked at Lucas, "I saw the demon that you speak of a day ago near the castle of the vampires. I am not sure what it was doing over there but if we are trying to build an alliance with the vampires to destroy this thing then what better way to stop it than to destroy their king? I was driven off by some vampires before I could see what it was up to though I'm sorry to say."

Lucas' eyes grew wide, "Excellent idea. If we can't get the Vampire king's support we'll see if we can strike a deal with the prince. I'm on my way to the werewolf castle to meet with the king and form a plan of action, if you would like to help either come along or see if there is perhaps a demon hunter among the human population. I'm gong to try to get some reinforcements from Africa but that'll take a while."

Eve saw the wolves torn apart and closed her eyes against the violence when it was over she looked at Joe. "we can't do anything about that. We should enjoy the time we have here after that we can figure something out. Now about that massage, I could do a spell but the barrier spell weakened me" she lied. It was true she could do a spell that would heal him completely but she much rather liked the idea of touching him. "If you still want one just come sit on the loveseat with me" she smiled at him innocently.

Joe gave an odd look outside. Had that just happened? A lot of activity around here, more than what he was used to. He needed a massage after all this.
"Oh no, I need a full body, literally, can we go to the bedroom?" He held onto her hand, walking into the bedroom as he laid face down on the bed.
"Just do as much as you feel, my entire back is awful though. It's like I spent the week on a bunch of rocks."
He groaned when he felt her touch. It was like heaven.

Javen

Something wasn't right. It wasn't that things weren't lining up in terms of sense, because they did line up. I twas more that they didn't feel right. I sat in Jade's room, watching her sleep. She was my mother in technical terms, having spawned me and taught me the ways of the dark, and I respected her as such, but in truth she was my truest friend. I watched her breath deeply, chest slowly rising and falling beneath the sheet.
She'd had a good point, that we were underpopulated should something arise against the Bloods, but now the Werewolves were coming around...making peaceful notions yes, but their prescence made me uneasy. I wasn't sure why.
"No..." Jade mumbled.
I listened. SHe was quiet for a few seconds, then muttered, "...you can't..."
A nightmare, but I didn't dare interrupt it. Her intuition was a great asset to her, and dreams often gave hints into the future. I decided to wait and see what she said next.

Lucas stood on the balcony of the north tower and released the messanger bird. "Reinforcements will be here soon, we must stop the demon."

The Prince

I saw him approaching and hurried out to meet him, watching to be sure no one saw me. When I met him, I stopped before him, trying to sound sincerely interested in what he had to say.
"What news?" i asked, whispering as if the information might be top secret.
"The demon has attacked one of us, Lucas, and escaped. He is not undefeatable, but he is strong..."
"Come," I began ushering him into the trees. "We must discuss this further before you go inside, something terrible has happened. Hurry, this way."
When we were out of sight, I reached into the pocket of my cloak and held out the amulet. "Do you recognize this?"
HE stared at it, then looked to me, puzzled. He shook his head. "No, I have never seen it."
"Well," I replied, with a smile. "When my father and the others come, they WILL recognize it."
Moving quickly, I reached out and grabbed the beast by the throat and threw him to the ground. he recoiled, immediately gaining his feet and lashing out at me. They were strong, our most equal adversary I knew, but this one was clearly young and foolish.
Immediately he lashed out at me, swiping with one paw, expecting me to still be there. I ducked my head and quickly stepped aside as he turned leaving him swing ing at thin air, then grabbed him from behind and pulled him to me, gripping his neck with one hand and reaching beneath him with the other, digging my fingertips into his ribcage and holding him still as I fed of his blood, draining him from the jugular. The hand on his neck compressed his throat, keeping him from growling or howling as I drained the life from him.
Once he was vanquished, I drug his corpse over beneath the nearest tree. Feeling stronger than I had in a long time, or at least in a few days as I'd taken to feeding off of his kind, I stood over him, wiping the blood from my face and removing the now bloodied cloak.
"This is where it starts," I began, speaking as though he were alive and listening, "You, White Wolf, have seen the beginning. You should feel honored. You'll be the key to my freedom, and my reign as King not only of the vampires, but of all Dark Isle."
I held the amulet out in front of me, eyeing it for a moment, then dropped it on the creature's chest.
"Chow," I said, "We'll be seeing you soon. And don't you dare tell anybody OUR little secret..."
I strolled back to the Palace, laughing.

Quiet Cool: You don't really say you'r characters name a lot, so I am going to guess it's JAven. If it's not, please infrom me.

"Ular'kle Zaul. That means Bringer of LIght. How interestingly stupid. Why would the Nest call me the Bringer of Light? I'm not an angel, am I? He could feel a buzzing inside him, a strange never-ending hunger. Something was happening to him. Something good. Very good. Perhaps he could make a deal with some vampires for food. Yes, he liked that. He spied some vampires hunting for him and listened in. "That Prince is developing an attitude", one spoke. "Hmm. Full-bloods. I already don't like them", Ular'kle growled and tore from the trees, killing them in two quick swipes and draining them. He left off for the castle. He would need to pay a visit to this Prince.

Okay, here's the rundown...

OOC: I have written from the perspective of several characters. That's why I write a name in the "Post subject" field. That's the character whose perspective I'm writing from. Dark letters, slightly smaller than those in regualr type.
Thus far, I've written from the perspectives of:
Javen, a vampire known as the "prince" of half-bloods (not the character called the Prince, however.)
Celeste, a half-blood vampire recently born into darkness.
The Prince, the son of the king and politically, the leader of the "Bloods," who, unlike half-bloods, were borne the children of two vampire instead of taken by a vampire and turned immortal.
Reuben, a werewolf.

I've added other characters, but these are the ones I've written as...

OOC: Yeah, I realize that.

IC: The Prince was sleeping comfortably. A cold, clawed hand jerked his head up and a a stake was to his chest instantly. "If you want to live, shut up", growled a voice. The Prince was lifted up and two hands wrapped around him. He heard the beat of wings and he was out the open window. He touched down in a small clearing. A torch was lit, and he was looking into the face of Ular'kle. "I am the demon, Ular'kle Zaul. I heard that you are getting into a somewhat ruling mood. I have wish to join with you. As long as you provide me with food", he spoke briefly.

The Prince

OOC: I named him in the casting call thread, but forgot the naem...I'll make something else up eventually.

IC: The creature looked at me expectantly...Did he have a clue who I was? My father was the king, not me...but his lack of knowledge might work to my advantage.
"Food?" I asked. "What type of food do you require, and we might discuss a bargain."
He'd pointed a stake to my chest, but I bore no fear...he couldn't injure me with it and more than he could my father, or any number of the others. The suseptibility to such attacks wore off given time, and I was aged well-past that point. The stake would sting, yes, but killing a vampire beyond the age of 500 years was quite a trial indeed. Especialy one with my recently appearing attributes.
However, this creature's offer entrigued me. I hadn't thought of it before, but I saw few drawbacks to his involvement in my cause. I listened intently for his response.
