jaded_lily, you're right. As I understand it, she has to show the complaints. She claimed they were made BEFORE the latest allegations...and of course, she dodged like hell when she realized I was going to pursue the issue.

I'm not dealing with her any longer. If I deal with someone directly, it will be her supervisor, period. She is now the little mouse my big cat of an attorney gets to beat senseless through legalities.

Sheath, I think you know me fairly well, and it saddens me that someone who calls themselves a Christian is doing all of this.
This woman is one that Jesus talked about. White on the outside but inside full of dead men's bones. She may look the part but inside this woman is full of hate, lies, deceit and there are many other verses that just shows that she is not a Christian. Jesus said you will know them by their fruits. She is what some of us call a "Granola Christian" A nut, fruit and flake.
Writing erotica is not horrible and you and I have talked enough that I know what kind of a mom you are and I know you adore and cherish your kids.
If you were someone who was a hooker, pulling tricks into your home and exposing your kids to this kind of lifestyle, then that would be another story. But just because you write stories about erotica does not make you a perverted person any more then Stephen King is a psycho killer because of the books he rights.
This Debbie has some real issues and the director that you are dealing with is the same. You have every legal right to do what you are doing and to live where you want to live. I am glad you have a lawyer who will fight for you and what these people do not understand is that what they are doing and saying is 100% illegal and they are looking at some serious legal action against them.
I hope they realise it soon and this dies down quickly. You and your kids need some peace and quiet in your lives.

Interesting update!

After a day of shopping and getting the little girl's school shots (ouchie), I came home...and another new neighbor walked over to talk to me. This particular one has been here for maybe two months, a really hard-working couple, with a beautiful little girl. She has been friendly in a 'wave from the driveway' kind of way.

So she came over and got right to the point, which was..."Can your kids come over and play?" Of course they could, I told her, and then she went on to ask, point-blank: "You write erotica?"

I told her yes, I did.

Then she went on to ask me, quite nicely, if I would autograph my latest book, which she intends to buy at the bookstore today.

She then pointed out that she firmly believes I am a good neighbor, she thinks my kids are great, and she would be more than happy to tell that very thing to anyone who might happen to have a reason to ask. Then she hollered at my kids (loudly enough to wake the dead) to get on over to her place for a while, she had plenty of ice cream and their daughter needed "some nice, friendly children to play with."

Then she winked at me and said I was more than welcome to dinner, she would love for me to meet her husband.

Sheath I suggest that you start to carry (on you at all times ) a mini tape recorder or digital if you wish. Then when Debbie or the HOA director starts to speak to you simply say, " Hold on I want to record this ." Then pull out the recorder and say, " ok, you were saying...."

I have to believe that they would be so flustered that they would just shut up and walk away!

If TN is a state where the other party's consent is required, I'd assume it had better be received BEFORE anything was recorded.
