Dealing with the Neighbors...

Interesting update!

After a day of shopping and getting the little girl's school shots (ouchie), I came home...and another new neighbor walked over to talk to me. This particular one has been here for maybe two months, a really hard-working couple, with a beautiful little girl. She has been friendly in a 'wave from the driveway' kind of way.

So she came over and got right to the point, which was..."Can your kids come over and play?" Of course they could, I told her, and then she went on to ask, point-blank: "You write erotica?"

I told her yes, I did.

Then she went on to ask me, quite nicely, if I would autograph my latest book, which she intends to buy at the bookstore today.

She then pointed out that she firmly believes I am a good neighbor, she thinks my kids are great, and she would be more than happy to tell that very thing to anyone who might happen to have a reason to ask. Then she hollered at my kids (loudly enough to wake the dead) to get on over to her place for a while, she had plenty of ice cream and their daughter needed "some nice, friendly children to play with."

Then she winked at me and said I was more than welcome to dinner, she would love for me to meet her husband.

Oooh...my oh my, how the tongues will wag now!

This is great news... I agree with MWY's assesment of the situation The real question I have, is whether the local bookstore will have your book? or will they be facing the wrath of an author scorned?

It's cool to see karma kicking in, huh?

My journalist friend dropped in for a visit, and I casually mentioned the newest neighbors. So he went over to introduce himself. They made a very big deal of standing out in the front yard and staring right at Debbie's house while they talked and laughed.

For the first time...EVER...Debbie came out of the house and yelled at her kids to get inside, right now, right this second!



I am starting to love this shit. Seriously.

Have each neighbor contribute some toppings, whipped cream, nuts... and churn up a great big batch of homemade ice cream! Should be a real hoot!

First off, you should be very proud of your kids. I am and their not even mine!

Secondly, you have a lot of support here. I'm impressed by the way everybody here offers suggestions, revenge options, legal advice, etc. But especially the support. Mind you, we are trying to support a special lady. Still, great group of folks here.

Regarding your "interesting update". I do hope you mention Literotica to her and suggest she join us. Whether a reader or a writer, I like her style.

Lastly, smack my hand. I need to keep current on this thread. Too much happening, too much reading when I miss a couple of days!

That's very true...that Debbie probably isn't done yet. But for what it is worth, another neighbor approached me this morning and said she would be more than happy to talk to the Director of the HOA on my behalf. This is a neighbor who hasn't talked about the situation, and has basically been very quiet since I have known her.

My attorney informed me that everyone has received their letters, and he got a call this morning from Juvenile Court. I will have to give them a statement and then we'll see what happens. He said it is his understanding that CPS has now launched an investigation into Debbie, thanks to all the events of late.



Mr. Journalist intends to get together with Mr. Editor later today, and I will let you know what develops there.

So...this is going to get pretty interesting from here on out.

And...imagine this! NO sign of Debbie's kids, all day long. Not one peep.

Here's an update.

I spoke at length with the Director of the HOA today.

Among other things, she said complaints had been filed against me before. When I asked her why I was not informed of these complaints, she changed the subject. Then she brought it up again, and when pressed, said that they had been reported to Child Protective Services. (So of course I called CPS and was told nothing else had been reported, I was perfectly fine and so were the kids, so far as they were concerned.)

The Director also asked me why I didn't just move; she claimed that my complaints would no longer be taken seriously because I was the one who had the initial CPS report filed against me, so "obviously anything you have to say is retaliation."

She also said she was calling for a meeting of all parents in the area, to straighten things out. We'll see if THAT happens.

A neighbor came to me today with a list of rumors, wanting to know if they were true or not...and I found the latest rumor interesting...that my daughter was 'unsupervised' and 'almost drowned' in 'water up to her chest' in the drainage ditch behind the house. Interesting, because...my little girl? In water up to her chest? The same little girl who is TERRIFIED OF WATER?

Yeah. What the fuck ever.

This is just getting insanely ridiculous, and right now I am thanking my lucky stars for a kick-ass attorney who isn't afraid to get dirty.

just for saying that your complaints won't be taken seriously, sheath, you should have asked for proof of these supposed reports from various ppl. Legally if she's making claims like that then she has to show you proof. She can black out names but she does have to show you documentation and whether is was male or female that made the report.
