Update...and boy, is this one interesting. My children have been gone on vacation for almost a week now. During that time, Debbie's kids have NOT been riding their bikes in front of my house...why would they, you know? Nobody to harrass.

Today my mother came to visit me, and she brought my siblings...six of them. Suddenly? Debbie's kids decide it is time to ride their bikes for the first time ALL week long. And it isn't long at all before they are yelling and shouting insults...at my SIBLINGS. And my mother. And me.

Of course, I immediately called the Director of the HOA, like I was told to do...and what happened? She told me to call the police. I did. What happened? The police said they couldn't do anything other than tell Debbie to keep her kids under control. And they advised that I file charges with juvenile court to take care of the problem. They also advised me to report her to Child Protective Services.

Same old run around. But when those kids are yelling obscene names at my family (from out of town, who they do NOT know and have never seen before)...it is VERY clear harrassment.

And now I have a boatload of witnesses.

Come Monday morning, things are going to get very interesting.

Did you have the police go out there and tell her that? If not next time do it. This neighbor obviously thinks she is in the right, it might be pretty embarassing for her to hear from the police that her children are out of control.

Videotape them, use a video with a time/date stamp or even start and end by showing the morning paper with the date. I would also tape record them. I would think telling children obscene names to yell at neighbors might come under bad parenting.
What kind of music might they hate?
Point your speakers in their direction whenever the kids start with their stuff, turn it down or off when they stop. I wonder if that can be done with some sort of noise detector?

Sprinklers in the front of the house that might hit them if they get too close? maybe on motion or sound sensors?

The police did tell her that...she obviously didn't care much. I think she feels invincible. She certainly acts that way.

I do have motion sensors around here, and a security system, but it doesn't reach out into the area they are riding, of course...water sprinklers, however, are an idea I had not considered before. On motion sensors? I'm not sure how to rig that up, but that might work very well.

Okay. So, my kids came home early! This is a good thing. I missed them, they missed me, so it was time for them to come home.

BUT. Five minutes after the kids get home, a neighborhood child comes by. This is a kid who is NOT involved in the harrassment..."Michael" is his name, and he visits his grandmother every so often, so he isn't party to all this. But he came over to ask me why the kids were back? I told him they cut their vacation short, they wanted to come back home, so they did.

"But we thought they took your kids away and gave them to a new mommy because you are a bad person because you write those books and stuff," he said.

What the FUCK??? My kids go off on a simple vacation for a while and the neighbors are spreading the rumor that they were TAKEN AWAY FROM ME? And my kids are standing right there, listening to this. I was furious, but I kept calm enough to explain to Michael that it was nothing but lies he was hearing.

This is the kind of shit we are putting up with. And the problem with the lies and rumors is that it is near impossible to prove, and even if I could, there isn't much I could do about it anyway.

I have rarely been this furious...ever.

I'm going to play Benefit Of The Doubt Lady for a second, though, and say that Debbie probably wasn't spreading rumors that your kids' vacation was actually CPS-induced. They've probably told her, by this point, to stop calling them. But the rest of the neighborhood knows that CPS visited you, and they know that the HOA supervisor-lady and Debbie are against you. When your kids go away they start to speculate. Since they aren't talking to you they've only got themselves, and they're not creative enough to come up with anything besides what's already stuck in their heads: you were threatened with having your kids removed, and now they're gone.

What shocks me, though, is that this little kid was told that you're a bad person because you wrote "those books and stuff." Don't you think the neighbors would shit themselves more if they knew Debbie was involved with a drug dealer???? (Pardon my French.)

And i thought my neighbors were bad, and all they do is the usual friends with the blaring car stereos at all hours, light fireworks throw them on the front borch knock on the door and hope someone gets hurt. What's funny about that is my husband caught the little brat, while he was putting the firework on our porch, took him home and watched him get his ass beat but not by his mother. She doesn't give a shit about what her kids do, and her youngest is the same age as my oldest. 6 yrs old.

And these kids are allowed to do what ever they want, whenever they want. The oldest is 14 and has a child, and thinks her b/f is more important then her child. And they think it's funny to drive 50 miles an hour down the alley that my kids play in (well not in, but around) and calling the cops doesn't do any good all they do is the typical 'We can't do anything about it because we didn't see it.

I cant believe how pissed I am reading your last post Sheath. Every day I pop on to see whats happening and toss out some humorous ideas to 'get back at her'. This has gone too far!!!

Keep your still camera full of film, keep your battery charged for your video camera, and get yourself a tape recorder and lots of tape to record. Get the best kind you can get that will pick up quiet voices. If you look on the thread where the guy wants to hear his neighbours daughter making out, there are a few ideas for him that will work for you. This will give the cops proof of what she is saying and what your kids are enduring.

What you do in the privacy of your own home is your business, you dont go around naked on your front lawn or wear smutty stuff outside to give her fuel to use ( you dont do you? lol teasing). You dont force your neighbours to read the stuff you write and you dont promote it with the neighbourhood kids so what the fuck is the issue.

I really think the idea of telling everyone and anyone that will listen that she is a deadbeat mom, with a dope dealling father, that cant keep her nose out of other peoples business. I think it would be a great idea to get your journalist friend on your side on this to do a freedom of speach kind of report. Basically stating that you should be able to make a living with a reasonable profession without the harrassment of others.

God I could so come down and bitch slap her right now!!!She wouldnt know what hit her and I bet there would be a line up of us to take turns!!!

Oh, they know she was. But see, she's "Born Again". She says that she found God and now she spends more time at church than she does at home. You know, a real "success story".

Just for the sake of discussion, I realize some of my comments toward the religious aspect of this are very harsh. I should note here that I have nothing against Christianity...in fact, I strongly believe in God. But the judgmental attitudes that come along with some forms of organized religion are a serious problem, and one of those serious problems seems to have taken up residence next door. *sigh* Add the rest of the problems on top of it, and it's holy roller hell.

Apparently the writer was firmly on my side in this issue. I have no idea who sent it.
