Dear PGers,

Thanks for being who you are and what you bring to this board. According to other boards we are too sugary, too bland, too boring, and finally to redundant. Sure there are ups and downs, cliques, and never ending threads, but this board welcomed me while others either ignored or blasted me as soon as I walked in the door.

I am coming up on 20000 posts which is pretty ridiculous to me. I am not on Facebook. Lit was the first place I ever posted. When I moved to OKC I knew no one here. I came from San Antonio, where I left family and lifelong friends. This place saved me. While my wife's band was out touring and gigging I was home alone and bored out of my mind. This place allowed me to escape that boredom and Interact with people.

It has come to be a sort of 2nd home. A place I can come and unwind, vent, joke around, and whatever else I feel like doing. I have been able to be myself. Sometimes funny, sometimes serious, sometimes immature, sometimes a friend and therapist. It essentially has allowed me to be me.

Since joining I have lived through a few deaths, a nasty car wreck, almost losing my life to kidney failure due to massive kidney stones, a tornado that devastated my family, losing my job, having to leave the board a handful of times, becoming a daddy and recently being unemployed for the first time in two decades. Through all of it this place has been there for me and my family in some form or fashion. I am grateful for this place. I may bitch about it and some of its patrons from time to time, but I do love it.

It bothers me those that have left because they get bored or feel it isn't fun anymore. Just like everything in life you get out if it what you put into it. If you're bored, then what have you done to try and liven the place up? If you birch and moan about certain people put them on ignore. You make this place what it is. Don't rely on others to create what you want for you. If you come on here stating how much you hate people, then you can't be pissed when no one tries and talk to you.

If you are upfront with people as to why you are here and what you're intentions are, you usually will have a good time. It's when you start changing who you are too fit others needs is when things become a bit stressful. It takes a while to learn that, but once you do this place becomes a lot more enjoyable. Be prorated though. If you post something be prorated to back it up with an explanation is necessary. Just like in the real world, there are all different types of personalities on this board. They clash, but unlike on other boards it hardly becomes personal.

I am rambling which I have been known to do. I am just grateful to have a place like this to come to. Yeah it is an online porn board, but to some of us it is more than that. The key is realizing that ultimately it really is just a porn board and to not take it so seriously. The real world, your real life is stressful enough this place doesn't have to be.
