Democratic Primary Fucktussle!

Will Bunch: How Elizabeth Warren lost the White House but became the president of US ideas

Nobody — well, at least before the coronavirus crisis, anyway — would have blamed Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren if she had spent most of March sheltering in place on a Caribbean beachfront, sipping a Michelob Ultra and looking up a big blue sky instead of a glass ceiling.

After all, it was only about two weeks ago (even if it feels like two years, or maybe 20) that Warren put a halt to probably the most grueling white-collar job anyone could imagine, running to become the 46th president of the United States. And the 70-year-old former Harvard Law professor ran harder than most, literally sprinting into each rally and then staying deep into the night to pose for selfies with tens of thousands of voters.

Well, going on vacation is what most of the folks who came before her in seeking the White House — most of whom, for what it’s worth, have been men — would have done. Instead, Warren is making a new kind of history — not the kind where she overcomes a nation’s ingrained misogyny to become America’s first woman president, unfortunately — by leaving the 2020 race and yet somehow shifting into an even higher gear.

Nonapplicable tread

The democratic primary was a fucktussle. The DNC is itself a fucktussle.

All of this banter has no bearing on reality. Those that think Trump has handled the China Virus poorly only think so because they are fooled by fake news. Most people are waking up to what has been going on. Trump has handled this in a very mature and responsible way. He is likely to win reelection in a historic landslide. Not only because his supporters see him as one of the greatest presidents in USA history and not just because his base of supporters is growing. But added to the absurd cast of characters in the democratic primary is the fact that democratic voters are left with Joe Biden as their champion.

So all of this banter is vanity and will soon be washed down the cyberspace drain forever. So the whole thread has become comic-book-dialog and is totally nonapplicable.;)

Joe Biden Trashes Donald Trump's Inept And Pathetic Coronavirus Response

Biden made these comments on a conference call with reporters. He explained how Trump has continued to lie to the public, has been knowingly putting out "misinformation," and not shown even a modicum of empathy regarding what Americans are dealing with.

Biden was blunt:
“Step up and do your job, Mr. President."

But can Trump actually do his job? Probably not. He has shown that he is a failure on a worldwide scale, to a level and depth that will surely lead to significantly more deaths than if he had taken decisive steps back on February 5, when intelligence agencies rang the alarm.

Biden went on:
"In times of crisis, the American people deserve a president who tells them the truth. Unfortunately, President Trump has not been that president.”

Truth? I do not think Donald Trump actually knows what that word means. In fact, I do not think anyone in his administration knows what that word means. They peddle in half truths, "alternative facts," and flat out lies. And their followers blindly accept the lies as the doctrine of truth.

Biden ended with:
“People are scared. They’re worried. They don’t know quite what to do. He has been behind the curve throughout this whole response."

That's it Joe, Pound Pudgy Prodigiously!:)

Sen. Amy Klobuchar is in the mix for Joe Biden's running mate

MINNEAPOLIS — Former Vice President Joe Biden is now the presumed Democratic presidential nominee, so expect a couple of months of speculation about Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., as a possible running mate.

At his debate on March 15 with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, Biden pledged to pick a woman as his vice presidential candidate.

The next day, the Washington Post put Klobuchar second on a list of likely prospects behind California Sen. Kamala Harris. That echoes speculation by pundits and insiders who cite Klobuchar’s swift endorsement of Biden after she dropped out of the race ahead of Super Tuesday.

Kamala is for AG!!!! She's be wasted as VP.

‘Excuse me!’ Elizabeth Warren unloads on Bloomberg host after he blames Dems for stalled virus bill

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) was confronted by Bloomberg host Jonathan Ferro on Monday over the stalled coronavirus relief legislation.

“In this bill, there are checks for everyday Americans,” Ferro told the senator. “The reason this bill hasn’t gone through is because of Democratic senators. Do you want to be the person that stopping people from getting their checks to meet their rent at the end of this month?”

“Excuse me,” Warren shot back. “The reason this bill has not gone through is because of Republicans senators and because of Republican leadership that pretended to negotiate for three days with the Democrats and then at the end of that time basically introduced their own bill.”

Liz is not giving up on America!:D

Biden has talked with Obama about possible vice presidential pick

Democratic presidential front-runner Joe Biden said Sunday that he has talked with former President Barack Obama about a potential vice presidential pick.

Speaking to over 70 Georgia donors on a fundraising call, Biden said he and Obama recently agreed that his vice presidential nominee must have the political experience to step in as president if he were unable to serve.

"The most important thing — and I've actually talked to Barack about this — the most important thing is that there has to be someone who, the day after they're picked, is prepared to be president of the United States of America if something happened," Biden said.

Without mentioning names, Biden told donors his team is considering at least seven women. The vetting process, which a campaign official described to NBC News as "vigorous," will begin in a "matter of weeks," he said.

‘His incompetence will cost lives’: Joe Biden goes after Trump on coronavirus in new 2020 campaign ad

On Saturday, Biden went after Trump on the issue of coronavirus testing.

“Where are the tests, Mr. President?” Biden asked.

Biden followed up with an online video warning that lives will be needlessly lost.

“His failure will cost lives,” the video says. “His downplaying will cost lives. His incompetence will cost lives.”

“His ego will cost lives,” the video added.

Joe comes out Smokin'!:)

Biden says ‘hard to envision’ Democratic convention taking place in July as Sanders vows to stay in race

Former Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday night said he found it “hard to envision” the Democratic National Convention scheduled for July going forward as planned as his rival for the party’s 2020 presidential nomination Sen. Bernie Sanders declared that in his mind, the race is still far from over.

“We ought to be able—we were able to do it in the middle of the Civil War all the way through to World War II—have Democratic and Republican conventions and primaries and elections and still have public safety,” Biden told MSNBC‘s Brian Williams. “And we’re able to do both. But the fact is it may have to be different.”[

The former vice president has, however, expressed a desire to wrap up the primary process, floating the idea of dispensing with further debates between himself and Sanders even as states push off their elections until June.

“I think we should get on with this,” said Biden Biden said last week in comments widely seen as an indication he believes the race is over and Sanders should drop out./QUOTE]

Democrats move national convention to mid-August after Biden calls for delay over coronavirus concerns

The Democratic National Convention will not be held until the week of August 17, a delay made after former Vice President Joe Biden expressed concern about having a large group of people gathered to hold the nominating event amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“I doubt whether the Democratic convention is going to be able to be held in mid-July, early July,” Biden said Wednesday night, as The New York Times noted. “I think it’s going to have to move into August.”

The Democratic Convention will still be held in Milwaukee, the Journal Sentinel reports, but dates and number of days are “in flux.”

Holding the Wisconsin primary looks ‘absolutely foolish’ after DNC postpones Milwaukee convention

“The DNC is delaying a convention that was set to take place in Wisconsin in July. But the Democratic governor and Republican legislature there won’t move—or cancel the in-person portion of—a primary that’s happening there next Tuesday.”

The Democratic National Convention scheduled for this July in Milwaukee has been pushed back to August due to public health concerns about the coronavirus outbreak even as Wisconsin is forging ahead with plans to have statewide elections—including party primaries—next week on April 7 despite concerns raised by public health officials and voting rights advocates.

“The DNC is delaying a convention that was set to take place in Wisconsin in July,” tweeted CNN national political reporter Eric Bradner. “But the Democratic governor and Republican legislature there won’t move—or cancel the in-person portion of—a primary that’s happening there next Tuesday.”

Wisconsin has seen an unprecedented level of requests for mail-in ballots, the state’s Elections Commission administrator Meagan Wolfe said Tuesday.

“There’s no one place where we’re seeing shortages,” said Wolfe, “it truly is all across the state.”

Thursday is the deadline to request an absentee ballot.

Oops. missed it by 'that' much!:)

Disappointed that she quit and endorsed Biden, I think that it's a mistake, but one that she made for the right reasons: she honestly thought that the campaign was over, Bernie's been "reassessing" for weeks now, so that's an understandable mistake, and she had possible National Guard duty happening, what with coronavirus, and she's already thinking like a soldier and medic again: save lives first.

Still, a bit of a blow. Though there was the satisfaction of watching the paranoid RussiaGater Neo-McCarthyist Hillary bots go from bashing Tulsi to having to swallow some crow and humble pie by admitting that they were wrong about her.

I missed anyone saying they were wrong about her. Examples?

Wisconsin primary in-person voting suspended by governor amid coronavirus concerns

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers on Monday signed an executive order suspending all in-person voting for Tuesday's primary and moved the date of the election to June 9 amid concerns about the coronavirus pandemic.

The order also convenes the state Legislature for a special session on Tuesday to deal with the issue.

“Today, I signed an executive order suspending in-person voting for tomorrow’s election,” Evers said in a statement. “Frankly, there’s no good answer to this problem — I wish it were easy.”

"I had hoped that the Legislature would do its part — just as the rest of us are — to help keep people healthy and safe," Evers added. "But as municipalities are consolidating polling locations, and absent legislative or court action, I cannot in good conscience stand by and do nothing. The bottom line is that I have an obligation to keep people safe, and that’s why I signed this executive order today.”

Rethuglican Leg is scared of Vote by Mail giving too many blah people a vote!

Wisconsin Supreme Court blocks governor’s effort to postpone election — and protect voters from COVID-19

Hours after Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers issued an executive order postponing this week’s election to June, the state Supreme Court ordered the election must proceed as scheduled.

The court, dominated by conservatives sympathetic to the GOP leglislature that opposed the delay, was widely expected to overrule the order. The decision throws chaos into an already confused election process.

"Is this why they call them Cheese Heads??"

Vote And Die! Democracy According To The US Supreme Court And Wisconsin Supreme Court

Soooooo Wisconsin is going to have an election today. A lot of people are going to be put in actual, physical danger because of Republican bullshit. A lot of people aren't going to be able to vote because of Republican bullshit. And a lot of people are going to continue to be fucked over by Republican bullshit for years to come.

Happy Tuesday!

We let you know yesterday about all kinds of craziness going on with today's election in the badger state. And suffice it to say a LOT has happened since then. None of it good.

Voters, civil rights groups, and the Wisconsin and the Democratic Party went to court to fight for voting rights — and lost. The Republican Party went to court to fight against voting rights — and won.

So yeah, it's all bad.

It’s time for Democrats to start playing hard ball against the GOP’s threat to the 2020 election

They could play some Kick Balls too!

Democracy is on the line, and the Democratic Party must stand up for its namesake.

On Tuesday, Wisconsin voters will be called to vote in one of the most disgraceful and flat-out dangerous electoral shams this country has seen in recent history. Despite the efforts of the Democratic governor to delay the vote and a federal court to extend the deadline for turning in absentee ballots — many of which may not arrive at voters’ homes by election day — Wisconsin residents will be expected to case their ballots Tuesday amid a pandemic or forever hold their peace. Howls about the injustice of asking people to vote in person during such a perilous time, and while the state is under a stay-at-home order, have gone unheeded by the Republican state legislature, the Republican-controlled state Supreme Court, or the Republican-controlled U.S. Supreme Court.

This is a terrible day for Democracy in Wisconsin, especially since a seat on the state supreme court is on the line. But it’s also a terrible omen for November 2020, when control of the entire U.S. federal government will be up for grabs.

Republicans have proven, over and over, that they don’t care about Americans’ health. They don’t care about the right to vote. All they care about is keeping their grip on power.

Cuomo rules out replacing Joe Biden as Democratic presidential candidate

NEW YORK — No, nope, absolutely not.Gov. Andrew Cuomo emphatically ruled out speculation that he could replace Joe Biden on the Democratic presidential ticket — or join the ticket as a vice presidential candidate.“That is on one hand flattering,” Cuomo said. “On the other hand, it is irrelevant.”He brushed off rumors that some Democratic insiders believe he could be a stronger candidate than Biden to oust President Donald Trump in November.“I’m not running for president. I’m not running for vice president,” he said. “I am staying here.”Cuomo has received rave reviews for his handling of the co…

Does the mean that the DNC is worried about Uncle Joe's chances and are looking for another "Moderate, Mainstream, Corporate Friendly" candidate after Bernie Bros say "Never Biden, Bernie or Bust!" ???
