We have high winds for the second day and ferry serivce is mostly cancelled.We are expecting thunderstorms down here...

How much do you depend on the ferry? Is it just cross channel or do you live on an island? is there enough supplies for a few days with out it? Can you get to work with out it?

We live on a big island so have enough supplies for ages. We try not to travel around Christmas. This happens a few times in the Fall/Winter as the winds get bad off the East coast to the mainland. Off the Westcoast is just the wild Pacific. We can see Washington State's Olympic Peninsula from our windows.

Thanks, sweetie...I used the snowthrower for 2 hours today...was brutal. My arms & shoulders are soooo sore! Part of it is from breaking in a couple new whips...he, he! I am soooo ready for a nice soak!

Looks like the Midwest snow storm jumped the pond last night. About an inch down on the ground now. Snow blower usage SMT? You sound like my aunt up in the U.P. I Pointed out a snow blower in the PX the other day to my son. It was a small one. My dad has a monster one that he's had for almost 20 years.
I just use a shovel and a wife and kids to keep the drive way clear.
