Did the world shake for Emily Miller

Same. i flew through EWR going back and forth to Ottawa a few times. Not impressed.

Other than that, I've done some research on 29 north of Trenton along the Delaware river. I'm bringing my Harley for that one. It looks beautiful on line. I've been told it's better in person. :)
It is beautiful. Cross the river at Milford and return on the PA side (Rt 32) -- it's even nicer.

Not sure why there is such a discrepancy on the length of said earthquake because the one I felt was at most 2 seconds if that but when speak to other people ( none of which were Emily 🤣 ) there earthquakes lasted like 10 to 20 seconds??

I suppose distance from the epicenter would factor into that?

From a story I'm finishing up...
---
According to the GPS on my phone, it was only about fifty miles from where we picked up the river in Trenton to Easton. With the quaint little towns and the historic sites, it took us over two hours to get there. Rambling along small country roads, following the meandering Delaware River; it was beautiful.

We didn’t quite make it all the way to Easton, though. Instead, Mike crossed the river into New Jersey and pulled up at this little place called the Old Ship Inn in Milford. Burgers and beer in what I would best describe as an English neighborhood pub with a historic feel to it. It wouldn’t have surprised me if the building had a historical marker on it somewhere.

Yes ofc though there were a few like 10 minutes away who said a dozen seconds and my brother out in Long Island which is futher then me was about 30 seconds?? Maybe they're exaggerating but who knows?

I suppose it depends on the individual and what they were up to at the moment.

I was on a ladder fixing something. My mind didn't even think "earthquake," I thought a low flying airplane. So I wasn't even timing it really. If I had to guess, maybe 30 seconds max.

People on the road or in certain buildings may not have even noticed it. Others may have been in a situation where it was more obvious, visibly seeing things shake etc.

it's all about perception really.

Them's fightin' words down there. You might find yourself floating in a vat of Campbell's Soup if you piss off Camdenites by equating them with Philly Cheesesteakers.

For the most part, Philly and South Jersey get along.

As long as you're not a Giants or Cowboys fan...

The wavelength would increase and the amplitude decrease as you move outwards.

I didn’t time it, but it was like 10 seconds here, but my perception might have been distorted by a WTF-field.

Or Steelers 🤭

I’m actually thinking of countering all the Eagles shirts by getting one. Might have to be kids’ size though 😬

Also keep in mind that the magnitude assigned to a seismic event represents the maximum value at the epicenter. A quake that is listed as 4.8 will have periods of lesser intensity before and after the peak, as a general rule. So, distance and the type of ground you're on can affect the perceived duration as much as the perceived intensity.

I'm terrible with time perception. I said 30 seconds earlier but it probably wasn't that long. Again I really wasn't paying much attention other than "hmm, that's odd."

I’ve got a neighbor from California. She was laughing at us getting all agitated.

And we’re members at The Aquarium - does that make us honorary Camdenites?

This morning's earthquake occurred on a shallow fault system in New Jersey and shook for about 35 seconds, a Princeton seismologist said.
