I couldn't tell you. I stopped watching Zucker's Contrived News Network long ago after establishing the fact it is a propaganda arm of the DNC and therefore a waste of my time.

Look around the world and where are people killing one another and for what reason? Russia, China, Africa, and the entirety of the Mid-East are stand out regions. And the reason is ideology. So which ideology should we be backing? Right wing totalitarian Islam, or left wing totalitarian Islam? What over arching national interest is at stake that would dictate we take either side?

One of the arguments is, "Well, they were our allies in the fight against ISIS." A valid argument to a limited extent. The operative word there is "were", past tense. Any rational assessment shows that they really had no choice in which side to take and that they obviously had an agenda that went far beyond the defeat of ISIS. The former Soviet Union were our allies during WWII, and look how quickly that turned. Their motives were not limited to the defeat of Nazi Germany, but also territorial gain and subjugation driven by their ideology.

Forget about Trump for the moment and ask yourself, "Do we, as Americans, want to be forever embroiled in Mid-East battles drive by a religious ideology?" Which of those ideologies do you choose? They are obviously intolerant of each other so the long term trajectory is that you have to continually make choices until there is only one ideology left. Which one do you choose? And you'd best choose wisely because eventually you're going to have to fight the last ideology standing.

It's funny how right wingers said that about Obama even though he was respected by leaders around the world but when Trump makes us a laughingstock by getting pushed around by Turkey (of all countries) they deny, deflect and defend no matter how stupid it makes them look.

Turkish leaders believed, like so many tyrants throughout history, that they could crush the basic human desire for a free life with violence and terror. They branded us as terrorists and criminals and spent hundreds of millions of dollars to get other countries like the United States of America to do so too, even as their forces committed unspeakable atrocities in violation of all principles of international law. We signed the Geneva Conventions and asked for peace negotiations on various occasions since 1993, knowing that the war could end the second Kurdish rights were institutionalized. These efforts were ignored.

When ISIS began its campaign of terror across Syria and Iraq, we knew we had to respond. The group threatened not only the ideals we have fought so many years to defend, but the safety of tens of millions of people. The well-armed and well-funded states of the region and the world were slow to respond, weighing the cost of action as millions fell under extremist subjugation.


“TURKEY DID NOTHING TO STOP ISIS EXTREMISTS”

As our movement and our people gave thousands of lives in this fight, the Turkish state that calls us ‘terrorists’ did nothing to stop the ISIS extremists that were terrorizing innocent civilians across the world. The Turkish state has attacked Northeast Syria with greater ferocity today than they ever did when ISIS plotted international attacks from territory just across their border. They have sent terrorist gangs affiliated with al-Qaeda to torture and murder the people who defeated ISIS. They see the simple articulation of Kurdish identity as a greater threat than the groups that targeted innocents in not only Sinjar and Kobani, but Paris, Manchester, and New York City.

This whole thread is stupid.

A handwringing OP about how the Kurds are going to all die if we don't do something. It then devolved into an attempt at deflection as EVERY talking point advanced against Trump was decimated.

Like the attempt say that Erdogan "dissed" Pence and Pompeo and left them on the tarmac at the Airport in Turkey. Yet the post was made BEFORE Pence and Pompeo even left the USA.

Then there's Trump's letter which Erdogan supposedly tossed in the trash. Yet, somehow the contents of the letter "will not be forgotten."

Within hours of their arrival, Pence and Pompeo announced that a cease fire was agreed to. Unless you want to believe those who say it wasn't a cease fire but now claim that the "cease fire" lasted less than 1 day. Get your story straight morons, either is WAS a "cease fire" or it wasn't.

The entire thread is just one more fucking stupid attempt to paint Trump in the worst light possible and, as the attempts fail one-by-one, the TDS sufferers just make up another false claim to replace the prior one. The ever shifting sands of irrationality is very obvious here.

2 years ago, it was "Trump's going to start WWIII!!!!!!" Now, when he wants to get us OUT of a war, the hand wringers are all about "Oh those poor people. We should stay where we're not wanted and fight their enemies for them.."

Now that I've gotten that off my chest, I realize I was wrong. It's not stupid, it's pathetic. You idjits just need to go hide in the basement for a while until the TDS symptoms go away in another 6 years or so.
