Do you listen to music when you write?

As a HUGE Floyd fan, thanks for the recommendation. Will definitely give this a listen tonight, after the gummy kicks in. 😉

I personally need silence when I write. No distractions. Even the sound of my girlfriend watching something on her phone or the TV downstairs can frustate my focus.

Which is probably part of the reason I dont write as much lately, im finding myself more and more easily distracted from it.
If you're really keen, I think you can find a surround sound version somewhere. An incredibly clever and dedicated project was run where people sourced multiple bootlegs of the same shows and then positioned them on the soundstage. Because Pink Floyd used the same backing track for the spatial effects (the Money cash registers etc), they just had to find one copy of a show taped from near the back speakers to be able to isolate those.

Current list includes Horace Silver, Lonnie Liston Smith, Noel Pointer, Threshold, Nightwish, Epica, Pray For Sound, Tides of Man, Dave Brubeck, Still Corners, Coheed and Cambria ....

When I get in a mood like that I find white noise to be helpful.

I'm currently listening to Portishead sing "Glory Box", a few lines of which will be in a story I'm working on now.

Just give me a reason to love you

Give me a reason to be a woman

I just wanna be a woman

I remember listening to a couple of tracks from the French band Air on a loop when I was writing one story. Recently I have a track of waves breaking on a shore on loop when I need to block outside noise

Always, I can't write without it. I have a whole playlist of songs that prod the muses into sexual deviancy.
