Do you really know what you want?

I wish Lucas would release the unmodified Star Wars on DVD (where Han Solo shoots first, dammit). THAT is something I would actually wish for . . . or maybe I'd buy it.

Hope still lives for it. :)

I think he was pretty adamant that he was only going to release "his vision" of the trilogy, rather than the one people line up around the block to see twenty years after if was release the first time. Not that I'm bitter or anything . . . okay, maybe a little bitter.

I was put on the spot recently in Switerland - the town hall in Basel (very Baroque and olde worlde) had a communal 'Wish Book' - people were writing their wishes in this book - in German I may add so made it difficult for me to read! - but faced with having to write my wish in a book for all enerntity I experienced writers block!!

I won't tell you what I wrote ( except that it had to do with happiness) but I did think it was a cool idea to have a public wish book!!!

I've come across a similar, but different, book in Belgium - at the Menin Gate, Ypres: comments about the deceased in WW1 and the commemorative ceremony. Has anyone else come across similar public comment books?

So, I've read through the thread and I've come up with most of the same things everyone else has. And then there were a few others...

I want my kids to continue to be happy and healthy, and to learn from them everyday. They are my greatest teachers.

I want the war to end.

I want someone in power to figure out that Bush stole the election and declare John Kerry the winner.

I want this country to raise the minimum wage to a living wage.

I want every baby to be born in peace to an empowered mother who will use her newfound power to raise a entirely different kind of world citizen. Oh, and breastfeed said baby for at least two years.

A couple of minor personal things...

I want my dryer to work.

I want my piece of shit Ford Windstar to believe that all of the doors are closed and DING the entire I'm driving it.

And the biggest one for me...

I want my soul mate to come to me. I want to spend my life with someone who thinks that loving me is as easy and natural as breathing. I want to make love and watch a movie and graze out of the refridgerator and kiss on the balcony and feel good in my skin again.

I'm not asking for much, am I? Hehehe...

Nope. Just get rid of the Ford...lol.
You asked for nice things.

A+

Thanks Abs. I wish I could ditch the Ford. I hate that bloody thing. We bought it (my ex and I) when we had four kids and my little sister living with us. My little sis moved out a couple of years ago. His oldest is now 18 years old and living on her own. And now that we've separated, it's a lot of car for me and the three kids. It also has the dubious honor of having a 25 gallon gas tank so it costs a fortune to fill.

However, considering that I'm essentially unemployed and living (if you can call it that) month to month on my child support and the tiny wage I make as a student, my only hope for a different vehicle is a visit from the New Car Fairy.

I'll write Santa a nice letter for you, maybe he'll get you a pony?
Hang in there babe, I know all about the poor white girl thing.

I know what I want, and I think I finally may get it...it's only taken over 40 yrs.

Funny, someone just told me the other day, "the problem with you is you don't know what you want."

so know, i don't know what I want.

And that has nothing to do with Christmas!

Umm, I think I want to know what I want and then to be able to get it...

Did someone say fairy?

Yes, I said Fairy. But I wasn't referring to any real person, living or dead. Just maybe some sweet old lady with wings who would visit my garage and remove my piece of shit Ford and replace it with something smaller and less ... I don't know ... annoying.

I'm pretty sure you're not an old lady with wings and new cars in her bag of tricks. Although you do seem pretty sweet!

I want an original print of "Marius the Epicurean."

Feel free to send it along ;)
