Seems you forgot Twitter was losing money prior to Musk buying it.

Twitter under Jack and his successor was indeed heading into the toilet. There was a Left-wing panic because new Twitter stopped censoring so many Right-wingers. Some advertisers fled, but more seem to be coming back, especially since the site works a lot better now. It will take time to rebuild.

I haven't looked into Twitter's numbers now or then but Truth Social sucking wouldn't have anything to do with Twitter having been good.

Truth Social was created as an alternative to Jack Twitter, where censorship was raging out of control (in coordination with the USG).

As soon as Musk took over Twitter, Truth Social was less relevant.

With the rise of the Fediverse, especially the free speech section, lots of people are defecting from centralized social media.

I will never trust Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Reddit, Pinterest, Twitter, or Truth Social: too much censorship. Especially on the Meta products.

Truth Social was created because Trump was banned from Twitter, it wasn't a brainchild of Trumps to offer up an alternative.
