Oh how delightful...the bleeding heart everyone deserves a FREE handout brigade has arrived in full force. Wake up and smell the roses.

1. Go over and hand out forms to people that have no right to be here in the first place...if I hand them forms, it will hopefully be a summons to appear in court.

2. Wanting to preserve the AMERICAN way of life is wrong...go tell that to all the soldiers in our armed forces. I'm pro-choice, support stem cell research, endorse the concept of gay marriages and have serious issues with pot being an illegal substance. On the other hand, have serious issues with groups thinking they have the right to come here, and force their way of life on us. I am a mutt, and celebrate various parts of my heritage, but first and foremost I am AMERICAN, and that should come first...if it does not come first for anyone else living within our borders, then they need to get the hell out of Dodge.

3. Rats in my pool...so, you think it is OK for others to over tax the property they are on to a point of creating a health hazzard for the neighborhood, but it is MY JOB to run over there and fix everything...again, wake up and get a clue.

4. Americans should now learn to speak Spanish...NOT. Read the rules for becoming an American citizen. You are required to LEARN THE LANGUAGE...it is time we fully and completely start enforcing that rule, rather than coddling and making exceptions to every person that wants to come running here for our way of life, but wants to hold on too their homelands culture and societal practices. If someone loves those things so much, then let them STAY PUT.

5. Illegals at the poverty level. $200 a day under the table wages for an illegal husband and wife five days a week comes in at over 50 K a year...that is NOT MINIMUM wage, and we have many people in states such as West Virginia, Kentucky and parts of Ohio surviving on far less than that who are bonafide legal citizens. So, stop with the pity the poor illegal immigrant who is being ABUSED by corporate America. $52 K a year NET gives these illegals a HUGE leg up on many Americans living in this country.

6. Indians being the smart ones...uhhhh.....most of the rest of the world already had sailing ships crossing oceans, guns as weapons, and great libraries of knowledge while the Indians were still riding bareback and shooting bows and arrows...not exactly the sign of a civilized technologicallyy advanced society, nor the sign of a group of people that was going any where fast in the big scheme of the world. If the English had not come to America, some other country would have, and the Indians would have still been conquered. This is not unique to this nation, but a pattern oft times repeated throughout the course of history. The Australians have much the same situation with the Aberingines, and if you go WAY BACK before and at the time of Christ you had the Romans doing basically the same things in conquering the Celtics and driving them out of most of the European continent. As the old expression goes, lead, follow or get the hell out of the way. Fact of the matter is, in the big scheme of life the Indians were anything but leading, and they were not following (read as assimulating) so they were forced out of the way. Shrug.

7. Comparing someone having a drink during times of prohibtion to someone guilty of a host of crimes against society is absolutely ignorant. A legal American gets audited, and even for an honest mistake is RAKED over the coals by the IRS, and yet you want to simply look the other way when illegals are yearly cheating the sytem out of billions of dollars in tax revenues as a group and say they are just trying to get ahead. PLEASE. Tax evasion is a serious crime, ignoring various health department rules and regulations in regards to housing is wrong, driving without insurance is wrong, and the list of crimes against society goes on. Each of those violations of the rules carries with it a cost that is being absorbed by and paid for by the greater society who are living here legally, and yet you wish to castigate me for pointing out the obvious. I sat in my own house, and unlike Bill Clinton inhaled...shame on me. However, what did that supposed violation of the laws of this nation cost anyone else? NOTHING. You cannot say the same thing about the massive disregard of American laws by illegal immigrants.

Let's see where I shall start. Shall I work through each item? That sounds fair.

1. Yes, go hand out the forms and be a concerned neighbor. Take the chip off your shoulder and do something to improve your neighborhood instead of bitching about it. It's up to you. The system is set. No matter who you vote for is going to change it.

2. If you're a mutt then you're an American like the rest of us. But the difference between us is that I believe America is formed by different cultures and each culture makes America. Ask the soldiers who serve? I was one of those. We fought for the freedom of everyone. Even for someone to have the opinions that you do. I fought beside blacks and hispanics. As a medic I know they all bleed and die the same as you and me. Each fought for America and it's diversity. What you want is an American Way? Well, America is the melting pot of the world. All cultures are allowed here. America is a taste of the world. I fought for this country and held buddies in my arms as they died. Were you ever a soldier? Or were you letting the rest of us defend while you worked for your pool?

3. Rats in the pool? Rats come from all over. I seriously doubt the illegals brought them in. Perhaps the temperature drove them to drink in the pool and you never discovered them. Perhaps the illegals are cleaner than you think. Have you checked or are you just judging?

4. Should Americans learn to speak Spanish? Yes, in my opinion. It's the fastest growing language in the country. Should they learn to speak English. Yes, it is required as a citizen. But until they learn we should accept their cultures and language. Try patience.

5. Please, tell me where I can make that kinda money under the table and cheat the IRS. That is listed as America's favorite pastime. They take more than they should. If I can make money writing or cash for caring for a patient. I'll take it.

6. The only way the indians lost was from technology. They held their own against the troops. Our rifles beat them. They fought bravely and proudly. It was the Americans that broke all treaties and gave them the reason to fight. The Trail of Tears is just one example of how cruel our nation was during that time. The Romans and Christians conqueored the Celts by blending their religion into their own. Many Celtic Gods and Goddesses became Gods to the Romans. Many are also Saints with the Catholics today. It was a great psychological ploy. The Christians learned from the Romans. But remember your history, most of what you celebrate today derives from the pagans. You're christmas tree, your easter eggs and rabbit even your Saints.

7. Let's see. The massive disregard of illegal aliens. How neat to say that. They come here for a better life, to support their children and family. Do they pay taxes the same as you and I? No, they don't. Do you look for every shortcut or savings on your taxes? I'm sure you do. Most make so little they would get a large refund each year. While you worry about tax cuts and how to clean to your pool, they worry about feeding their family and sending money home to support their love ones. Yes, Tax Evasion is a serious crime. But tell us when you haven't looked for a loophole in the tax code? Don't judge these people because their illegals. Judge them as the people they are. If they're violent then okay, but if they're struggling and working, then give them the benefit of the doubt.

No, I'm not a religious person, so maybe it is hypocritical of me to think that, but I do, everytime I see people much less fortunate than me. Um, that would be most of the world. Us in the UK, USA and the rest of the western world are highly privileged, we should NEVER forget that. We were incredibly fortunate to have been born where we were. It was luck, pure luck, that we were born into an affluant society. Even the poorest of the poor in our repsective societies have far more than those born into often war torn parts of Africa, Asia and a lot of Eastern Europe. We moan, we complain, we bitch at each other, but we are blessed. Very, very blessed.

Then again, are we happy? Do we expect too much? If our lives were simpler, would we appreciate the small things more, like our families, our health, and the small fact that we have enough food to eat each day?

We don't live in fear, we don't know what real fear means.

Given the slightest chance, the average assylum seeker would work their fingers to the bone for a day's pay. It's not illegal immigrants/assylum seekers that cause the major arteries of our economies to bleed to death, it's the lazy layabout bastards, born in our own countries, who do not realise or appreciate how good they've got it, who are a drain on the rest of us. 1. Try reading a profile now and then, and you would know I am not a female.

2. If you knew anything about geography, and even conservative values on real estate in the area of the country where I reside, you would know my figures are quite accurate. In Westchester County, NY a starter home is going to run you over 200K.

4. Calling INS...you ever tried recently to work with a federal agency, let alone the INS which is KNOWN for how inept they are. They seem to have the same blinders on when it comes to distribution of limited resources as the Christians do when it comes to the Pro-choice verse Pro-life arguements. EDITED TO ADD: Most especially because the stats I'm looking at is showing greater density and increase in the southern and most importantly southwestern states. Except for Illinois. That one is a weird case. Not sure what happened there.

Cause nearly every site I'm going to focuses on the southwest and the scholarly press is showing a trend among illegals given amnesty in 1996 going to the South and Middle America. PRoblem is, once within our borders, they simply do not leave. Are white supremists burning down a church belonging to a black congregation any less terrorists than an Arab blowing up a military vehicle? Are you so naive as to believe many of the various terrorists cells hiding within our borders are all here legally? Have you missed many of the various debates in Senate Sub Committee hearings, or during the 911 Commission hearings wherein it is asserted that one of the things we need to do to make our nation safer is to make our borders less pourous to those coming into our country illegally. I am talking about those Arabs who entered through legal channels when I mention 9/11 but I believe that expired visas in country can be stopped by increasing the security on the borders. Also, if you want to get into tax evasion, there are many US citizens who use off-shore accounts to evade huge amounts of taxes (more taxes than every illegal immigrant in America would pay). Also, illegal immigration (crossing a border illegally) is not the same as legal immigration that becomes non-citizen overlooked by government agency too busy worrying about illegal immigration. They are not fought the same way and the same tactics will not work on both.

Now, I know what will happen next, because I have been granted with the gift of premonition. You will argue something tangental or possibly other-worldly to avoid having to admit that as a northeastern lad you have no fucking clue what the illegal immigration problem is really like in the boring old-day-to-day sense.

About 5.0 million undocumented immigrants were residing in the United States in October 1996, with a range of about 4.6 to 5.4 million (See Table 1). The population was estimated to be growing by about 275,000 each year. Add then eight years to that and it seems a safe assumption that we could say the illegal population base in this nation is now in excess of 7 million.

California is the leading state of residence, with 2.0 million, or 40 percent of the undocumented population. The 7 states with the largest estimated numbers of undocumented immigrants--California (2.0 million), Texas (700,000), New York (540,000), Florida (350,000), Illinois (290,000), New Jersey (135,000), and Arizona (115,000)--accounted for 83 percent of the total population in October 1996.


Interesting, New York is ranked THIRD in the nation when it comes to illegal resident population, with New Jersey holding down sixth place. If you know anything at all about New York and New Jersey, you know that there exists an almost indistinquishable population hub with New York the center. Most of the illegal population in this two states is center in this population density area of about 70 miles in diameter, which means in one small area we actually have as bad of an illegal alien problem as does say Texas.

So, when you want to dismiss my facts and opinions because I live up in the Northeast where we haven't a clue, you are very much mistaken.

Why does this post NOT surprise me. You seemed to have had no problems when Cloudy stooped to name calling almost from the outset instead of intelligently debating with facts and figures, but when I point out a very obvious fact about her, you want to froth at the mouth like some demented anal retentive chimp tripping on LSD and call foul! Like it or not, most educated, real people that have lives would reach a similiar conclusion to mine about someone that has so much idle time on her hands that she is on a message board so much of the time that she is averaging a post an hour over the course of some four months....she does need to get a life if that is all she is doing with herself. You are also naive if you think this is the only site she is posting on. I merely pointed out what should be painfully obvious.

As for leaving...do not hold your breath, as I have no intentions of going anywhere any time soon. You seemed to have had no problems when Cloudy stooped to name calling almost from the outset instead of intelligently debating with facts and figures, but when I point out a very obvious fact about her, you want to froth at the mouth like some demented anal retentive chimp tripping on LSD and call foul! Like it or not, most educated, real people that have lives would reach a similiar conclusion to mine about someone that has so much idle time on her hands that she is on a message board so much of the time that she is averaging a post an hour over the course of some four months....she does need to get a life if that is all she is doing with herself. True but your actual immigration (change in number of undocumented noncitizens) is stable. You have no real immigration problem. I've lived in SD most of my life. SD is not only one of the higher areas of undocumented density in Claifornia (which has the highest density), it is also the number one movement point from which all other illegals depart north. Thus, I believe my point of knowing slightly more about the day-to-day jives. You'll notice that in actual immigration (read increase in illegals) California leads quite strongly followed by Texas and then Illinois. States seeing a larger percentage increase are those of the South where illegal Mexicans given amnesty in 1996 have been moving. You are in a stasis bubble. Here there is flow. Southwest flow. Northeast stasis.

Does this open up your problems in your neighborhood of the question of whether to give them the long train ride home? Yes. I agree with you that it gives you this right. However as far as actual border protection, the problems of movement, the affect of INS sweeps on communities, I'm slightly more in the know, but not true to say as in the know as the illegals who get swept.

P.S. I dismissed your logically jumps, your blatant attacks on the personal character of beloved members of our community, and your strange belief that the Southwest knows less than the northeast about a predominatly southwest problem keyword: predominatly. Your opinions themselves, well there are a lot of reasons I dismiss those and hopefully I won't be forced to get into those. So I'll just stick to the other three points as my core involvement and leave the opinions to someone else.
