I heard that the original BBC miniseries was better.
Oh, I didn't know there was one! :) Yes, that tends to be the case for almost everything, lol.

side note: I caught Blade The Series on the Spike channel and it was good, way better than I expected.

Ultraviolet (BBC 6-Part Series)

Oh, jeez. They made a Blade series??? :p

Fury, there's more to the BBC than "Cheerios" and petticoats. :D

I'm sure but there must be some culture gap because try as I might I've never really gotten into anything from the BBC. However, I don't say that I'm right and everyone else is wrong either, each to their own.

I haven't checked out the Blade series because the movies were only so so for me.

Constant Gardener rocks. See it. Best Rachel Weisz movie ever, and considering some of the other great things she's done (Enemy at the Gates, Constantine, the Shape of Things, the Mummy films), that is saying quite a lot. :)

Great BBC Shows: Check out Neverwhere if you get the chance. It's an awesome urban fantasy. Blackadder is good too, for comedy and history. Then of course there's Touch of Evil.

I'll keep those in mind should I get access.

I've seen it once before... the bug scene is cool... and as far as the story -- that is why I am posting and watching. ;) I agree it takes a while to get to the point.

I could have done without the long-ass boat ride, myself.

I enjoyed King Kong, although I agree that the length could have used some cutting. The boat ride was mostly made interesting by the compelling character interplay and Heart of Darkness references. It was a little expanded, though. IMO the original King Kong was far easier to get into and had better scripting and fights.

The original I did enjoy, granted it has been a long time and I should watch it again to refresh my memory. The boat ride was too long. Those bugs are cool...:) I was a bit put off with the dinosaurs - I think Jurassic Park spoiled me. I like all three of those films and for a while even owned the playstation 2 game :D

I admit, when I first saw the King Kong dinosaurs I thought the movie was ripping off Jurassic Park.

I just saw Bad Santa. I had to stop the movie twice I was laughing so hard.
"Who's dee bitch now Santy Claus??!!"

I liked the Jeff Bridges/Jessica Lange King Kong... *shrug* That's the one I always think of...

The language was a bit over the top, but I was just in "that kinda" mood I guess
I saw the previews and thought I would like it, but of course they can't show you all... and when I did start watching it, it was just too raw. I had the same reaction with Tom Hanks' Ladykillers. It looked good with the previews, but not once I started watching it, another I had to turn off. *sigh*

As we are watching this Kong movie... comments are being made and asked... so I am curious... Was the city as developed as the movie is made out to be? (mainly the huge city skyline) ... also... Did they decorate the trees for Christmas so abundately in Central Park back in the 1920's or 30's, like they did for this movie?
