Oh yeah. (insert drooling emoticon here)

Oh yeah, James. The dialog is a little overwrought at times.

But I love it.

"Worth killing for." BAM! "Worth dying for." BAM! "Worth going to Hell for." BAM! Amen. :D

Also, I recommend the whole Star Wars series. Over my winter vacation I watched all six movies via Netflix. I enjoyed them all and I wasn't much of fan to begin with... though I am now.

Okay,

Just watched the Great Raid and the Librarian, quest for the spear.

Great Raid. Well done and very realistic. (Sometimes too realistic maybe.) Based on a true story. Well worth watching if you are into history.

Librarian Quest for the Spear. Reminds me of Raiders and some of the old serial films. Fun movie (Okay so the dialogue wasn't the greatest but I wasn't expecting it to be.)

Cat

Wes Craven's Red Eye with Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy. A pretty good suspense, much better than I heard it was.

Robert Rodriguez made a little film called Road Racers with Salma Hayek and David Arquette set in the 50's. One of my absolute favs although not I'm sure to everyones taste. If you're a Rodriguez fan though you must check it out.

Monster
it left a really weird residue of unease as it should, given the type of movie it was. still...not the feel good flick of the year for sure. three out of five stars

L Word
Showtime series about lesbians. very cool...if a bit posh and glamorized. its still taking on some real issues while peppering the lifestyle with interesting twists and turns. four out of five stars

Finally watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory- loved it even more than the original.
40 year old virgin- very funny movie, probably more so for me cuz ex is a huge action figure, comic book collector
The March of the Penguins- really cool documentary. Definitely learned lots and it was well made

I caught Tim Burton's The Corpse Bride yesterday.

It wasn't bad at all, at all. Still the same dark sweetness as The Nightmare Before Christmas. Funny in a lot of spots, twisted in others, sometimes both at the same time.

I still like Nightmare better. But I don't think you'll be disappointed in Bride.

Last week I rented Aeon Flux, the animated series.

I wanted to like it, I really did. But I didn't.

I think it was the confusing signals in it. It felt like it should have a back story, but it didn't. At least two of the episodes seemed to bring the series to an end, but then the next episode would pop up as if the previous never happened.

The interplay, the love/hate relationship between Aeon and Trevor was mildly interesting. But since I had no idea about why they felt the way they do it got old fast.

The sex was adolescent in idea and execution. Yawn!

Maybe someone else might like it, but I didn't.

I just watched 'Lord Of War' starring Nick Cage and Jared Leto a few days ago. It's the best movie I've seen in a very long time. It's gritty, so it's not for everyone. But, I like action movies with a bit of substance. It's an interesting commentary on gun smuggling, as told from the arms dealer's POV. I don't usually like Cage, but he's perfect in this role as a smooth and ambitious smuggler.

I've just rented a few, didn't watch yet:
The House of Sand and Fog: heard good things about it plus it has Ben Kingsley in it.

The Saddest Music in the World: a dark comedy with Isabella Rosselini as a legless beer baroness who has a contest to find the saddest tune in the world.

Saving Face: It's got Joan Chen and her daughter, need I say more?

I still like Nightmare better. But I don't think you'll be disappointed in Bride.

I concur...!! And the kids loved it.

Oh, you will LOVE House of Sand and Fog... I did... it's a great book, too.

Great flick, but it left me really disturbed for a long time after I watched it.

The Aristocrats

The Artistocrats.

I was prepared to not like this, and couldn't imagine how listening to the same joke over and over for an hour and a half would be entertaining, but I have to admit that I loved it. Some might find it offensive and vulgar, but then again what are you doing here?

Hey, I liked Eraserhead too.

I just couldn't watch the Aristocrats; I made it through ten minutes.
I saw Red Eye the other day. It's a mediocre movie, at best.
Kids watched Polar Express yesterday and Loved it.

Hmm . . .

4 Brothers . . . okay movie.
Grind . . . nice eye candy, horrible movie.
D.E.B.S. . . . I feel guilty saying it, but I like this movie. Lesbian spies . . . *drool*

Oh yeah . . . Hotel Rwanda . . . Excellent movie. Makes you REALLY proud to be a westerner . . . not.

still watching episodes of The L Word. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT
its better than porn because there is much plot which makes the sex sessions even more steamy. *purrrrr* :catroar:

Don't listen to David, he's just frustrated for not being English in the mid-late 60s.

Hi Kate E!!!

Actually my frustrations are the last thing that should stop you from paying attention to me. The late 60's were the only time when being British really mattered! (did I really just say that? Well, at least you folk had a time that mattered!)

The Aristocrats was hilarious and I will stand behind that observation, albeit several strategic paces behind. Saget and Gottfried were hilarious. The whole premise was great, and in many instances was exactly what we try to do here, which is to exaggerate and expound wildly on exploits which we usually only dream of being able to achieve in real life.

How is good old Kate E. these days anyhoo? :D
