Endless Curiosity

I only have "serious" relationships. I don't play online for that very reason. I refuse to get attached or connected to anyone on here for play time because I know the chances are very high that I'd just be on a list of potential playmates or considered the Wednesday girl..or be messaged after girls 1, 2, and 3 couldn't arrange their schedules..

If I want a non serious get off session, there's plenty of audio and porn available.

So, to answer the question, if you want to avoid that awkwardness, then avoid that type of relationship.

Even casual relationships have people attached. People with feelings. It’s evidenced every day on the board that liaisons end with disappointment, lack of closure, and broken hearts - risks associated with any relationship.

There are a couple of Lit friends whose toes I’d be worried about stepping on, if I thought there might be a history with someone I was considering. Rather like I wouldn’t date a real-time girlfriend’s fling, or ex-boyfriend. At least without previous, and thorough, discussion.

Lit, however, is tricky. Off-line you know who people are, ummm….doing. Here, I can make guesses, but I don’t ask.

*shrug*. My relationships tend to be serious, even if not permanent. Maybe that colors my view, but I prefer not to hurt someone who’s extended their trust to me in any way.

So, as far as the question goes…. Situation dependent?

Or maybe I should just say I have no idea.

I suppose another angle on VT's question could be "Is Lit a dating site? Or just a community of people having some sexy fun?"

Actually, I know that it is both. For some it is a dating site, For others, such as myself, it is a community for having fun. And for some (many?) it is both.

I just don't know how many use Lit for hooking up with others, either digitally or in RL. And I'm not really interested in knowing.

I just hope that people find the fun they are looking for and don't get hurt.

I certainly wouldn't want to step on anyone's toes. If I thought a friend might be hurt by a potential connection, I would either walk away from it or ask the friend.

On the other hand, I wish my friends would just ask me about a potential boy toy rather than walking away from something with potential. Odds are I haven't spent any private time with him. It's not something I have done often. Even if he is one of a very few, I probably won't care. As long as he has enough class to leave our past out of his present and not try to draw comparisons, then what difference does it make? When I'm done, I'm done. *shrugs*

Errr....Maybe I overthought my answer. :D

I could not agree more. Very well put.

This is what I'll be doing:

Sans sweater and snuggly fur. It is Texas after all.

I'm starting Graham Greene's Catholic primary quartet of Catholic themed novels. Kicking off with The End of the Affair. Love, love, love, love, loooooooooooooove that movie.

Nothing else I'd rather be doing, except maybe doing it here:

No idea where this sudden longing from the cold has sprung. :D

I will be doing laundry all weekend. I am soooooo far behind!

I would rather be at a baseball game, or a broadway show, or at the lake with a fishing pole. *sigh*

I hate laundry.

Plans for the weekend? And what would you rather be doing?
I'm not sure yet. The working week has been so busy that I haven't given any thought to the weekend. It's a long one too — a Bank Holiday on Monday in the UK — which makes it even more difficult to figure out what to do. It'll probably involve running, socialising and (hopefully) cuddling up with Mrs MF, popcorn and a film with some level of spiciness. ;)

Fortunately, given the above, there's little else that I'd rather be doing. :D
