Endless Curiosity

My story is similar to makemewet's - a liberating divorce story.

My first wife and I got married right out of school. We were still young and very naive. Sex wasn't great and soon became non-existent. We were constantly hounded by her family to give them money. One of her brother's was either in a drug rehab program or needed to be bailed out of jail. Two other brothers, and her mom also depended upon us for money to pay bills, pay the rent, help pay for a car. It went on and on and on. My wife refused to tell them 'No'. Our marriage became unbearable. About seven years into this, I finally decided to divorce her. It was a tortuous decision to make.

When I was about to tell her I was leaving, her doctor's discovered she had breast cancer. I couldn't leave. I stayed with her through surgeries and long chemo treatments. When she got well enough, I again prepared myself to leave her. Again, the cancer struck. I couldn't leave. And this happened a third time. I know all this was real as I went to all the doctor visits, all the surgeries, and all the chemo treatments.

Finally, Finally, she was well for 2+ years and I told her I was leaving. We had been married 17 years, 10 years after I originally thought to leave her. Easily the worst 17 years of my life. And we finally divorced.

I found my new love, my soul mate. We have been happily married for nearly 25 years. The divorce from my first wife took me 10 years, but it was worth it to save my own life.

OMG! This may be the most profound personal story I have read on Lit. As my generation would say: "That's heavy."

Those are a lot of deep scars that emotionally smothered you for years. And now, you have found the spirit and strength to break free and begin to heal. Your grandmother had broken your self confidence, now you are gaining that back.

That is a profound story. I don't know you personally. But I now have a tremendous amount of respect for you.

Thank you for sharing. :kiss::rose::kiss:
Thank you, Inspi :kiss::eek:

VT and makemewet. :rose:

Defining moments are few but they should be memorable. For me, it was the decision to forgo graduate business school at a very old school near Boston for graduate work in education further west. Without that choice, I would likely have never moved to the Midwest, and without that move, I'd probably have a boring screen name like HornyGuy6973XXX or some such foolishness. Would never have met my wife or children either, so that matters, too.

What did your children think when they met you?

On an entirely superficial level, what one physical feature revs your motor? Is it a long-time favorite or a recent fixation?

Someone not having posted on What Are You Wearing yet

Oooops, was meant for the What Bothers You thread

I have a "type" that, errr...generally gets me going, but otherwise otherwise, it's forearms. Weird, right? Not all forearms, just some. And I can't really say with any accuracy what it is about said forearms.

But when I see some I like *RAWR*

Kinda partial to a nice firm line along the back of the thigh and glut, too....

1. Dimples and a goatee
2. Beards and tats
3. Little crinkly lines around the eyes when a man smiles
4. A well defined backside clad in denim
5. Good hands. (Hard to define, but ... dayum.)

I know the question said one, but I couldn't choose just one. Limiting it to five was hard enough!

1, 3, and 4 are long time favorites. 2 and 5 are more recent.

A question to clarify #5 .
Are "good hands" ones that look good? (large, strong, rugged, w veins?) Or hands that know how to please? Or all the above?

Oops! Forgot the bonus question. I remember *crushing* on a boy as far back as the sixth grade, so I'm going to take a wild stab and say with long-standing. ;)

2. Beards and tats

I know beards are the current rage, but just not a fan. If I like the guy I can tolerate facial hair, but I really prefer a smooth chin. Tats, on the other hand, are guy dependent.

Hot guy + hot tat = *kaboom*

:p

Beards in general are guy dependent for me. I'm not crazy about men in suits sporting a beard. It reads a little like "rebel without a clue."

Now, a man with eyes that crinkle at the corners when he grins that naughty/knowing/demanding way that some men do ... in a well faded and worn pair of jeans that are just a bit snug across the butt and thighs ... tattoos peeking out from under shirt sleeves and a nice full beard so soft you can't help but touch it ...

I mean, umm, beards are cool.

LOL...got all of that except the tattoos...DANGIT!!!

Voice.

I like 'em short, small and dark. I like 'em tall, broad and fair. I like 'em average height and ginger, and everything in between.

But they gotta have Voice.:devil::heart:

Yay... that's me! *waves* :D

I am clueless for much of the time, it's true. ;)

Legs — more specifically knees — or, even more specifically, the backs of the knees.

*pin drop moment*

I know... I'm weird! :D

Some nice guy posting "eyes" in 5...4...3...
I would say eyes in specific situations. During intimate moments, there's nowhere else that I'd prefer to be looking. Dilation of pupils is a massive turn-on for me, as are other subtle signals that can be read through the eyes.

Hello, EN. I see you're still being quite ephemeral. Have you had that checked out?

What did your children think when they met you?

To be candid, they were moments old at the time so their perceptions might not have been fully formed just yet. We get on well now, though.

Hello, Honey. I think voices matter a lot, too.
