Endless Curiosity

On an entirely superficial level, what one physical feature revs your motor? Is it a long-time favorite or a recent fixation?

Broad shoulders
Dimples
An easy laugh
Good hands (I agree with VT's non-descriptive description - when I see 'em...dayum)

The dimples have been a "thing" since my high school boyfriend and the rest have developed over time.

Hello, EN. I see you're still being quite ephemeral. Have you had that checked out?

To be candid, they were moments old at the time so their perceptions might not have been fully formed just yet. We get on well now, though.

Hello, Honey. I think voices matter a lot, too.

You're not gonna paper over your grammar glitch on the kid thing ;)

I anticipate a busy day, so I'm dropping off tomorrow's question early:

Let’s talk about the ignore button. So much advice on Lit as to when to use the thing. Do you use yours? If so, how often, and what is heinous enough to prompt the “nuclear” option? :caning:

By the way, if any of you have a topic you'd like to discuss, please feel free to shoot me a PM. I very rarely author the questions here. You folks are so much better at it. Keep 'em coming!

I don't think I ever slapped the button on anybody. I don't want my reading of threads to potentially have gaps in it.

Oh, as for what else you can drop off....

I didn't use it at all for my first six years on the site, except for the odd transient troll. In the last few months, though, I've pressed it three times for more prominent Litsters. I don't know whether that reflects a change on Lit, or just decreasing tolerance on my part.

For me, the equation is simple these days: if, across a fair sample, I'm getting more ill-feeling than positives from what someone is writing, then I go nuclear on them. Nobody here (other than Admin and Mods) automatically deserves my attention.

I recently added a Litster to my ignore list, bringing the current count up to 2. I honestly don't remember what landed the other one on the list. I'm thinking of taking him off just to see what he's about.

The new one hasn't really done anything heinous. In fact, I don't think I've ever spoken to her. Her posts just irritate the mess out of me. *shrugs*

I’ve used the thing four times. Once on an asshat who was doing his utmost to disrupt a friend’s thread.

The other three were based on a cumulative set of negative posts. Either hateful responses to others or a steady stream of more general criticism. Two of the this group are long gone, and at the moment my ignore list is clear. I empty it and start afresh every so often.

Oddly, except for the thread disrupter, all have been women. Longer-term members. Short-timers or obvious trolls I just ignore. Apparently, it takes time and steady effort to get me exasperated. :D

I hit the button. I have a list. Mostly stalkers, and guys who kept crossing the line in my box.

I get tired of dealing with that shit.

There are (a very small number of) people whose posts irritate me. But if I put them on Ignore I wouldn't get to enjoy rolling my eyes... :D

There are only two. One who wouldn't accept NO for an answer, and the other who called me an ignorant stuck up cunt because I didn't answer his pm quickly enough (30 minutes...)

Mostly, I just don't pay attention to the annoying people. If you have too many people on ignore it really screws up the ABC threads. Lol.

ignore button

Once, a few years ago when I had a pic thread, I was attacked by a troll. He complained about one of my nude photos.

A troll on my pic thread? What? Why? Me? Really? I couldn't believe it.

I got into a nasty exchange of PMs that went on for a few days. I was fortunate that he didn't engage me on the thread itself. I think he finally got tired of me countering each of his lame statements and arguments. After he went away, I put him on my ignore list, just so I won't have to deal with him again.
