Endless Curiosity

Sex in public - lots when we were younger, not so much now. Favorites would be taking her out after dark on the country roads I grew up on and get her hopelessly lost. The sex was always consensual - it wasn't like I'd take her out and tell her to put out or walk! Trampoline sex in our yard after the kids had gone to bed was fun as well.

Historical event - Greedily, I'd say the IPO day for shares of Wal-Mart stock, which has split and multiplied so many times over the years that a relatively small investment then would have resulted in a fortune today. I'm sure there are other companies that have done the same rate of growth.

Oh! I'd like to have witnessed what happened to the Roanoke colony, albeit from a safe distance. Though possibly not as far as orbit.

As to the public sex -

Still got nothing. :p
If "public" means "with other people around, not involved", then we've found some possibilities here in the UK. Not sure how brave we're feeling, though.

The resignation of Trump.
That's another one that might be best viewed from high Earth orbit. :(

Sexual attraction. Are you one of those it hits like a lightening bolt, or does it only grow as you get to know person. Or do you fall somewhere in between.

It just depends on the person. There have been girls where one look and I'm hooked, other that took a slow burn to build up.

I've found the lightning bolt doesn't have the same depth of feeling as the slow burn. I'm still looking for the special one that does both.

Bolt of lightning to begin, and only gets better from there. Is she out there, who know.

It was somewhere in between for me. She looked incredible in a white turtleneck sweater. But eventually I discovered there were other fine parts about her as well.

Oooooh! Excellent question! And, unlike yesterday, have an excellent answer.

Which I will impart later.

It's going to be, wait for it...wordy.

:p

Mixture of both.

It always starts slowly at first, but then suddenly there's a tipping point.

Sometimes that happens shockingly fast and I go from intrigued to salivating with a single phrase or glance. Othertimes I know someone for months or weeks before suddenly having an intense desire for them, little did I know it was just slowly building the whole time.

I'm with lunation- both.

I grow fond of people and as I get comfortable, I entertain the idea of entanglements. And then there's those few who bring me to my knees at the sheet prospect of having a chance. One guy in particular comes to mind. I met him whilst he was vacationing here, the chemistry was instant and incredible. I still swoon thinking of our time together.

I'd agree with those who said "both", but possibly for different reasons.

At a physical level, I feel an instinctive animalistic attraction that does hit me like a lightning bolt. In my head, though, I'm a slow burner. I've never wanted casual sex, and meaningful sex for me stems from a deep and intimate understanding that grows slowly over time. It's my head that wins. :)

I can't really say both.. there is no in between and desire isn't something I throw around easily. That being said, I'm not quick to say yes. I have a strong need for intimacy that isn't always easy to find and doesn't always show it's face despite a strong physical chemistry.

Sexual attraction hits me both ways.

In the real world, there are some men that just affect me instantly. It's more than looks, it is coupled with just the right amount of confidence and something else ... hard to define. When I meet one of those men, I become completely tongue tied. Literally can't even speak. It's so embarrassing!

There are other men that sneak up on me. I might find them attractive in general, but it isn't personal. As I get to know them, they become more attractive. I think it has something to do with learning their expressions, their movements. Not everyone has "bedroom eyes" or that "come fuck me grin" (I don't), but everyone has their own look. Through conversations, playful banter, and inappropriate jokes you learn to recognize their special look. One day you see it completely out of context and it's aimed at you. And your body responds. Then suddenly the sexual attraction hits full force, as powerful as those instant guys but it's even deeper. *sigh* That's the best.

Here it's different. My post is already getting long, so I won't go into detail, but ... it's different. ;)

Interesting that you note the difference between online and real life.

Come to think of it, there is a pretty stark difference for me as well. It's pretty hard for me to notice attraction in real life.

Lightning bolts.

...surprise, right?!

It's all chemistry. It's either there or it's not... and if it's there? *spontaneously combusts*

Well. Now that I've shopped, prepped, cooked, laundered, exercised, and bathed, I'm ready to answer the question. Considering all the wonderful answers I'll mostly comment. Which means less wordy.

No, please. No one cry. :p

Sometimes that happens shockingly fast and I go from intrigued to salivating with a single phrase or glance. >

This^ sums me up pretty well. Sometimes it's as quick as first meet. Others it's more sneaky, more a series of events. I notice them a few times, then a little conversation, then *lightning bolt*

I don't understand the concept of a sexual attraction that grows. I believe it happens, it just doesn't happen to me. Apparently, that's shallow (so I've been told).

This happens to me, too. Awful! It's like reverting to prepubescent girl in one fell swoop.

Real time, for me, it's usually a physical attraction. Occasionally its something a little more nebulous, a look, an attitude, a certain tone of voice. Here, on Lit, it's always the latter.

It's funny, but I spent my first year on Lit trying to understand how people managed e-attraction. Then it happened to me. It's happened twice now. The strength of it still takes me by surprise.

This is a perfect description of my king needs. I can do casual sex, but for truly phenomenal sex I need kink. That requires salivating attraction and the right kind of power exchange. And, a certain type of security-type intimacy. I have to feel secure. Otherwise I can't submit. :(

I've found the lightning bolt doesn't have the same depth of feeling as the slow burn.

Interesting, but it just doesn't work that way for me. The lightning bolt rarely strikes, but when it does, there is nothing tenuous about it's hold.

Aaaaand, because I'm quoting more than one, new quote :D
