Plus your favorite Dragon.![]()
Oh, no! I failed the exam!
(And those were easy questions, too.)
I have always had a hankering to live on the moon.
Yep. The moon.
I blame it on adolescent reading choices. Heinlein's The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is one of my favorite books. How would I do it? Pressurized domes?
Oh! And there was another book where humans colonized other planets. Can't remember the name of the author or the book, but the ship crashed and the colonists ended up on planet reminiscent of Cretaceous period earth. Dinosaurs, people! Dinosaurs!!!
Errr...I seem to wandered a little far afield.
*veers back to attainable*
I've always had a yen to visit Maine. (Do not ask why because I do not know.). Too cold though, I expect, for year around living. Washington would be pretty, or perhaps Wyoming or Colorado. Actual seasons, and trees and heavily wooded areas.
Not that Texas isn't superb in its own way, but aside from the hill country we don't have much in the way of pretty.

I love the mountains, snow, hiking and everything outside. Colorado isn't far from my happy self, but I'm going with Switzerland.
Anyone of these quaint little towns would be just up my alley. I'll start my Swiss expedition in Interlaken and go from there.
Not Mars?
Wouldn't want to end up a Stranger in a Strange Land?
The problem with that is there was no actual time spent on Mars, at least, not in the book.
Besides. I cry when Michael 'discorporates'.
Every. Single. Time.![]()
True.
I just want to hang out with Jubal Harshaw.
Heinlein's The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is one of my favorite books.
OK. Before I set another question, I'll recap quickly on yesterday's challenge:
Did you all get those right?
- To the question "What is your favourite thread title", the correct answer is "Endless Curiosity".
- To the question "What is your favourite user name", the correct answer is "ViciousTease".

Today's question:
If you could live anywhere on Earth, where would you choose and why?
If one of you rebels chooses some non-terrestrial option, explain how you would manage your choice.
3... 2... 1... go!
.
I would live in northern Michigan - up on Lake Michigan and on the Leelenau Peninsula. It's heaven.
Yes! My grandparents lived in the U.P., so we spent a lot of time up there.I would certainly not argue with that. Have you been up further, like to Munising?

Grok...What a brilliant concept. And an accepted Scrabble play
This is going to sound horribly sappy, but if I could choose anywhere on Earth, it would be where I actually live, my tiny village in the middle of northern English nowhere. I love the green, the community, the quietness and the noise of the countryside, and the sense of place and anchor that it gives me. >

Scotland is easily the most beautiful place I've ever been. Magical, even. I could see settling there quite happily.![]()

But, but...
I'd add harsher winters - I want crisp winter mornings guaranteed, frost, snow even, cold that makes your nose run, and requires a thick winter coat outside and the lighting of a crackling log fire inside, and I want warmer summers - I want lunch outside, dinner outside and sex outside.

The sun has come out behind the clouds today, so I'm relaxing in the garden, cold drink in one hand and chatting to you all. Looking around the garden, I've come up with a question for you!
OK, I hear you all say. Where is the question of the day! Here goes....
What is your favourite flower? Have you got a favourite scented flower? What is your favourite plant? Go go go my little seedlings
There are some lovely pictures of flowers on 'The Playground Gardens' I have started if you need to be inspired
