Endless Curiosity

I'd be Ragnar Lothbrook's Viking Queen. Let the raping and pillaging begin.

Caveat: if the boys get too rough I get to summon my army of shield maidens and lead us all to sapphic victory.

Play, relationships, whatever you like to call your sexy time. These days online or long-distance situations are common.

My question is this: How well do those situations move to real time?

Does the online spark transfer? Is that fascinating conversationist boring in person? What about sexual chemistry?

I have literally never fucked a woman I didn't meet online.

So...yeah, it transfers.

Thinking about it, never fucked a man I met online.

Huh. Wonder why it worked out that way. /shrug/

Huh. I have literally never had sex with a woman I did meet online. Come to think of it, never had sex with a man met online either. :D

I did once maintain a long-distance relationship for three months or so, after I'd met someone. He eventually moved. I might have married him. :p

I am new to the whole dating online concept. No idea whether it transfers.

Honestly, it seemed quite strange to me in the beginning. I'm a kismet kind of girl. Physical attraction first, followed by a mental/physical personality 'click'. Meaning 'pretty' might get you a hearing, but you better have something to follow it up quick!

Online is a different kettle of fish. Unless the object of your attentions runs a AM Pic thread or is just generally picture happy, you're unlikely to know what they look like initially.

Still, I would think the attraction would transfer. Right? It's the emotional connection that holds you. The 'pretty' is just...icing.

yesterday: oh...well, the Salem Witch trials... probably..
Where I'd have been promptly burned at the stake.

Today: they don't moved fluidly. In fact, I think they're more like trying to swallow alum..

It's weird. I am wired the complete opposite way.

The idea of talking to a woman in person and then hooking up with her. How? How am I supposed to sleep with her without already knowing what she likes in bed?

But, hey, I'm a millenial (barely), I was raised on the internet. Apparently my generation can't function without it. There are many articles on this. :D

*ponders your dilemma*

Dude... You're screwed.

I like starting online. If we're not a good match intellectually and emotionally, then what's the point of fucking?

In person, I am too easily blinded by my high drive and long-term state of neglect to have the presence of mind to consider niggling details such as whether the dick in question is attached to a total douche.

How's that?

I'm not even certain how this is a dilemma.

So, I was surprised by the responses to this. So surprised I'm going to double post!

Why is preferring to meet people online a bad thing? It's not like I'm lamenting being able to get laid. I don't feel like giving a number but...I feel like neither a slut* nor a sad virgin. Meeting people online is not difficult.

How is this any different than saying, "I don't like hitting on women I work with so I meet them at the bar."?

*I am a slut, I just don't happen to feel like one.

Am I the online one who's been through the mill of internet dating?

Although in reference to the original question, I've never been in an online relationship that then transferred to an in person one. I don't believe in online relationships, as I'd rather have someone that I could see regularly. Or I never met anyone who made me consider an online relationship.

not quoting cause, well, I'm sick today and don't feel like it.

I don't think there's anything necessarily wrong with online, rather it requires a certain level of expectation that you either have or you don't.

So, for those whom online works, it works well. For those is does not, it fails miserably.

Neither do I see anything odd or untoward about wishing to meet people online. It's simply a preference.

As for moving to RL? It obviously happens so I can't say that it does not. Does it occur in large enough numbers to support a study surrounding it? absolutely. At least a third of new marriages these days start online.

Do I plan on meeting my soulmate online? Not impossible, but highly unlikely. I've had a sampling of online dating and it left such a bad taste in my mouth, I'm now even less likely to meet anyone, regardless of where.

Of course, I could just be a Vulcan.
I don't know.

If I am, my ears must have been docked at birth.

Honey you're killing me today! 😂😂😂

So what's the question? Does the chemistry transfer? Hell yeah it does.

I mean, you may wind up at their house at some point, and you may relaize it smells like cat piss and black mold at which point you fake an excuse and bolt, but that could happen with someone you meet in person too. *shrugs*

Anyways, yeah. If it's hot online it's typically hot in real life too.

Funny observation -- just cause someone has chemistry with me in real life? Now *that* doesn't always transfer to online. I don't think any of my long term SOs have ever really rocked my digital socks off.

This statement…wow. It opens a whole new angle on e-sexing it up before an actual meet. You could walk in with knowledge on likes and dislikes. Know if there was an existing sexual compatibility....

It sounds so…efficient!

And, wow.

For the second time on the same question....

not quoting cause, well, I'm sick today and don't feel like it.

Sorry you are sick, RA. :rose:

Thanks, Trekka. My calendar tells me my hormones are on the rise. ;)

Good phone chemistry is crucial for me. Something can work online but not in person, but if it works online and on the phone, chances are good it'll make the transition to RL. And honestly, I don't give a shit what they look like. If they can rock my world with their brain and their voice, they're gonna get their dick sucked like nobody's business.

Right?!

So taking notes!

Honey and Trekka, you two should teach a class. Or at least put all this good stuff in one thread! :cattail:
