Endless Curiosity

Don't intend to interrupt the discussions, especially about Jenny's puppies, but.... A reminder of the Questions of the Day. It has been a few pages since these were posted.

Posting vs. Lurking, Do you always feel a need to chime in, or are you content sitting back and watching things unfold?

Bonus question: What about those times when you drop a little nugget of wisdom or humor and it appears to go completely ignored? Do you let that bother you? Does it leave you hesitant to post more?

Fine, you can see ONE puppy. Just one.

I'll let Inspi have his question back now.

What fabulous puppy you have. I can see why everyone else wanted to see them. ;)

Not my questions. People won't know today's questions unless they went back several pages. Just doing a public service to those that may want to know the topic of discussion. :D

Of course if we want to see the puppies, we can continue that discussion. Heck, we may have someone that want's to see someone's snake.

I do both. Post and lurk. It depends on time mostly. If I have time to interact or just "cruise" through and see what's going on.

Bonus. I rarely return to see if anyone replied to what I said unless it's a known friend. I just assume people are doing their own thing.

I confess I just lurked on this thread for almost an hour getting caught up ;)

I'm disappointed that I missed a chance to flirt with AF and laugh at Yda's jokes.

Inspi, I always read your posts, although I'm not sure if i've ever directly responded. Just, for what it's worth.

I mean, if I don't have a flippant, saucy response that rolls right off that tongue, and perhaps a ridiculous image or gif to accompany it? I'm likely to stay quiet. Unless I'm waxing philosophical. Which means I'm on my period.

Getting ignored in threads just inspires me to post harder... bigger.... faster! *moans*

To clarify, I don't expect a reply for every post in a public thread such as this one.

However, if I post a question directly to another person, and that person is still active in the discussion after I post my question, I do feel that I was intentionally ignored.

I'm sure I'm guilty of ignoring people from time to time.
The pace of some threads is so fast that it's not until I go back that I realise that someone interjected. It's not intentional, but it happens :/

Because Inspirinious reminded me of another reason I tend to lurk more than post. I tend to lurk more in threads where I either don't think I will add much to the conversation, but also in threads where I have not really posted much, and worry I wont be as welcome. Some welcome new people really well, and some pass them up for the regulars. Even though I am not new on Lit, I didn't become active in the playground until about a year ago and a half ago.

You need to post more frequently....like that.

I kind of feel the same way. I come here for the conversation and having fun with friends. If people don't talk back to me, it's no fun and I try to find somewhere where they will. Sometimes, too, I have opinions and feel like I have a viewpoint to add to the discussion, and of course having people ignore that stings a bit. Most of the time I'm looking for two-sided (or more) conversation.

It is becoming (more) obvious to me that even with regard to posting on threads, the experiences of men and women are different. Sometimes better different, sometimes not as good different - some ways for women, other ways for men. (does that make sense?)

I appreciate the comments. As some described their approach to Lit, I need to accept it for what it is, enjoy what I can, and simply leave things that sting or hurt.

Many thanks to all who have contributed to this discussion. :)

Lit has been supplementing my needs for all of my relationship..can't imagine it not being enough....if as i grow older my sexual needs increase god help me;). she fulfills 95%+ of my needs what more can a guy ask for

Yeah, I'm late ... so spank me. *wiggles bottom*

Do you discuss your Lit playmates with your same-sex platonic friends? What about opposite-sex platonic friends?

Do you discuss playmates with anyone? Ever?

If not, well ... why not? It's normal to discuss other relationships with friends. Why not a Lit playmate?

ok, so..
Like I've said, I've had one what I'd consider serious Lit relationship. I fell extremely hard, and while we still keep in touch, I keep my distance as best I can.

I tried to discuss this with my sister, who was just no help at all. Had me watch the movie "Her" and tried to convince me that my relationship had been no different than that of the protagonist in the movie. Really slammed me for being an idiot, and quite honestly because I felt like one, I wasn't hard to convince.

So no, I don't discuss that sort of thing with anyone, primarily because I refuse to let it happen again. There can be No sexy-sexy with me unless you're standing in front of me, butt naked where I can touch you..

Problem solved..

Lol

I've offered to take you dancing.....:)

Hmm, I was thinking more along the lines of "Do you discuss your Lit playmates with your Lit friends?"

I can understand why some would want to keep their Lit dalliances private from their 'in the flesh' friends, but why here?

Granted, I don't discuss my playmates. I've certainly never named names. I just can't help but wonder if it would be easier to navigate the emotional crap that is unique to online fun it I had a girlfriend I could talk to about it. Or a guy friend for that matter.

Sometimes when a woman asks me a certain type of question, my Man Radar goes on alert. I sense that certain questions are intended to entrap me. These questions could do exactly that. So I proceed slowly and with great care.

First, no one in my RL knows about my activities on Lit. Therefore, I am definitely NOT discussing anything about my Lit playmates with anyone in RL.

I try to be a gentleman and therefore I do not "kiss and tell". I may talk about some of my activities in general terms, but never identify my playmate, unless she has previously given me permission to do so.

There is one lady who doesn't mind me talking about our activities together and identifying who she is. So I have told bits and pieces of our story to other people. And I do share with her some of my activities with others, but again I do not tell her names, and she doesn't ask for names.

Most people on Lit who know me are aware that I share pictures and videos. I also receive pictures and videos, but these I never share with anyone else without specific permission. And even at that, it has only been a very few items.

I always try to be discrete when it comes to activities with others. People have trusted me with their privacy and I greatly respect that trust.

So I don't kiss and tell.

I have one Lit friend that I discuss everything and anything with, not just my Lit relationships. My beloved FelicityJohns :) We've helped each other through a lot of online romance ups and downs, real life craziness, and everything in between. We've supported each other and given advice, talked dieting tips, and discussed the pros and cons of anal ;)

Overall I couldn't ask for a better friend, online or RL.

Ah, I see..
Well, in that case, I do discuss my thoughts on certain Litsters with two close Litster friends, but like I said, I'm usually just shooting the shit in conversation as I'm not involved with anyone here.
When I was involved, as it were, I did discuss some aspects of the relationship with the same two Litsters, just like I would have sought out advice from my real life friends if I had a real life issue I felt I needed support on.

Is that what you're referring to?

General answer, I keep my flings or whatever you want to call them private. I keep everything that way to be honest. If a friend takes to me about something the boards, I keep it that way.
