Sleeping? Fan on or off? Tv on or off? What's your preference?
Fan on. TV off. Gentle rain, white-noise on.

Sleeping? Fan on or off? Tv on or off? What's your preference?
I'm sure we've all been asked the question, "If you could do it all over, what would you do differently?" My answer has always been nothing. I wouldn't want to change something in the past that could threaten my present. This morning, I find myself looking back and thinking of things I wouldn't necessarily change, but that I would like to relive ... and maybe do better. One of the big ones is pictures. I've always shied away from them, but looking back I find that there are few photographs of me with my lived ones. If I could relive special moments, I'd ham it up when the cameras came out.
Are there specific moments you'd like to go back and experience again? If so, how would you make it even better?

I suspect a life without regrets is one we don't learn much from. There are many things I'd do over... many wrongs I'd right. But I wonder, without those very painful times, would I be who I am today?
But, it's also a little dangerous to get lost in the past. I'm overall satisfied with where I am now. There are things that need improvement, but hey, that gives focus for the future![]()
I have to say that I agree with this profoundly...
sorry, I forgot to say, this is a thread I've often peeked into but never contributed to, I hope nobody minds me jumping in

My dad killed himself this year. I hadn't talked to or seen him in over a month. I was seperating from my now ex husband and was afraid my dad would ask questions I didn't want him knowing the answers to, so I just didn't talk to him. If I could go back, I would pick up the damn phone and or drive over to his house and see him again.

Having lived my life and knowing first hard all that I have had to endure. All the hurts, the pain the losses. I have overcome a mass majority of them. I have learned that I am strong even when I feel weak. I am resilient. If none of those things had happened to me would I be the person that I am today. Would I be compassionate empathetic understanding and patient with those that mean the most to me? Would i have learned to appreciate love and not take it for granted had these things not happen? I have my faults just like everyone else my fears my worries my troubles. But overall I like who I am I like who I Have Become I like who I'm going to continue to be.
The only thing I know I am certain I would change is I would tell those people that I care for how much I care about them more often I would let them know everyday what they mean to me when it was still possible to do it. Even though I am still working on that aspect out of fear of rejection. I am a work in progress.

A place to flirt,
A place to tease,
Yes, we have,
Each of these.
A place to rest,
To stop ... reflect,
Perhaps to flex,
Some intellect?
I'm hoping to make this a quiet place to come and chat. No demands, just hot coffee and tea, cold drinks at the bar, and good company.
To start the conversation, I have question (or 20):
For those that come here to explore interests and ideas that you SO doesn't share, is this enough? What if, upon exploration, you find that Lit is not enough? At what point does the gap between your interests become too wide to bridge? Will you seek a better fit or accept your limited reality?
I'll answer the first question because I missed this till now. And I'm bored. Hope that's ok.
I think, more than intimacy, I miss the witty banter. The back and forth that maybe leads to something and...maybe doesn't. The conversations.
Lit is good at providing those. Even so, what we are missing is much more basic than sex. Is it worth sticking it out? I have no idea. But I am.
I have a theory that this is actually what so many of us are looking for. And why, for so many of us, casual sex just doesn't satisfy. So we keep trying to scratch the itch. Feels good for a minute, but the craving is still there.

Today, if I could go back 31 years. I'd make sure she never got off that bus stop alone. She would have come to my house after school. She would never have come in contact with that horrible man (and man is too nice) She never would have been kidnapped, She never would have been stabbed over and over again, she never would have been raped, and she would never have died. He would have never had that power. At least not at the expense of my friend.
He wouldn't have had the power to take away my safety and comfort. I probably would not even own a gun.I would not have to relive all of this every time I drive to my sons work and see the prison across the street. And lastly. I wouldn't be re-reading that book every year and taking flowers to her Memorial tree!![]()
Ummmm. What has happened to our fearless question poster, Ms. VT?![]()
She fell into a conspicuous space.
Let's play hookie today. No work or whatever else you normally do. The kids are at school. Your spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend/roommate is gone for the entire day. You have a full 8 hours completely to yourself. Whatcha gonna do?
