Depends on how well I knew them, or how much they were on my radar. Curious at least, concerned sometimes, definitely sad a few times. Frustrated and helpless when it was a close friend, absolutely.

Yes, of course I develop bonds with my Lit friends. It's impossible not to be changed by all of the loss, but it forces me to be more intentional about setting boundaries that I can live with, lowering my expectations, and loving people unconditionally.

I feel all of those when someone I am close to disappears, even for a short period. Prime example; Little_Sister. She was one of the first people I flirted with when I came back, and we formed, for me at least, a very deep bond of friendship. I know that the real world is her focus, but I miss her And I really don't know what's going on, so that leaves a hole in me that may never be resolved...

I do feel a loss when someone I am friends with on Lit disappears. This happens in different forums, but is particularly an issue when a SRP writing partner disappears. Something you are working on together just ends. But I am more concerned about them, than the project.

I can understand that there are so many reasons a person leaves, even for a short period. But I am the type to worry and think the worst. I know that is my issue and not their fault. But I still wonder and worry, a lot.

The not knowing, and having no way to find out, creates intense feelings of helplessness. In real life, I can always manage to find a way to get answers, even if not the answers I want to hear. But online, in the digital world, there may never be an answer.

I have known some people on Lit that were in a precarious position in real life. I was concerned for their physical safety and well being. Then they disappear. I feared the worst. I have even contemplated contacting the authorities to seek help. But where? Who? And tell them what?

It depends who it is. If I'm close enough with them to have email, I keep in touch occasionally. A birthday greeting or more. It just depends on the relationship. If I'm not close enough for them to give an email and say they're leaving, then its no big deal.

I was raised in a large(ish) city, but now live in a small rural community. They are completely obsessed with HS football. I just don't get it. I haven't been to a Homecoming since I was in high school.

I am not compliant in my dress code today but I'll get to that shortly.

I don't still live in my hometown but if I did I might wander to a game or two if there was a particular interest or if I had nothing else going on. I still follow my team to a degree, even from a far, not that I can tell you in a Saturday morning if they won or lost the night before but just generally how they are doing. I haven't been back for a game since being in HS.

My town now, I will wander to a game once a year under the same reasons as stated above but I do keep a much closer eye on them. I will know before I go to bed tonight if they've won or lost.

living in Texas, HS football is god! I am back in my hometown, and I do try and keep tabs on the my alma mater, and our crosstown rivals. But I haven't been to a game since my freshman yr of college. That was....a long time ago.

With my work schedule, it makes it impossible to go to games, the fair, concerts, etc. But I do keep an eye on what's going on in the community....

High School Football: After graduation from HS I moved over 1,000 miles away to attend college, stayed here, and have never been back.

Point of Interest - Anyone see and remember the 2000 movie "Remember the Titans" with Denzel Washington? That is a true story of my high school the year after I graduated in 1970. With the merger of 3 schools into one, they kept the school name, and the team name, but they changed the school colors to include colors of the other two schools. So just doesn't feel quite the same. But they did win the Virginia State championship in 1971 and I am proud of that.

No undies? Well, shooooot. Too late, I guess. It was blue jean Friday anyway, so it wasn't really an option.
