Being a pet owner sucks at the end.

I have to have my 15 and 1/2 year old German Shepherd put to rest this afternoon. She has advanced liver disease, isn't eating and is losing her back end a bit. Absolutely heartbreaking but I'm doing this for her. A vet is coming to the house this afternoon. I am dreading this.

I've had two dogs prior to Poppy and each time I've had to have them put to rest because of illness. This is the last time though. Can't take any more heartbreak.

I’m so so sorry. It’s the most difficult thing to do isn’t it. But like wander says, you’re doing it for her out of love. But it’s such a painful feeling. But she’ll be at peace and out of pain. Xx
