I don't know if this helps or not, but my father passed away last year in November, and that Christmas had to be as it was, if you know what I mean. No extras and a lot of "I don't have the strength now, sorry, thanks". I was a beautiful Christmas after all with the closest family.I know they all mean well but it’s not even been two weeks since my dad passed and the constant questions about and invitations for Christmas really stress me out.
People reach out and you choose what you can cope with. It is your feelings and grief and only you know how you feel.
I am very sorry for your loss and hope your Christmas will be as good as possible.
