Everything Hockey

Made the series more interesting. Forces the Sabres to steal a game in Montreal to regain home ice. Buffalo is more like a Canadian city than a US city. Makes this series fun

I want to see Buffalo win that series. It's been so long since they were even in the playoffs and they have never won a cup. Of course I am hoping for a miracle comeback by the Flyers starting tonight.

Interestingly, there are rumors/hope that the Flyers will trade for Austin Matthews in the off-season. I really hope that they don't. Matthews will turn 29 in the off-season, he's been injured and his production is starting to go down. My fear is they would trade away one of their 2027 first round draft picks. 2027 is supposed to be a really strong draft and I think they would be better off keeping both first round picks for next season. They have their own and possibly Toronto's first round pick in 2027

Sabres steel back Home Ice with a win in Montreal...with a little luck from a goal from Center Ice off the back wall . That should never go in. You aren’t screened. It came in from the side. You kicked it in. Brainfart.

This benefits the Hurricanes because now instead of a week rest...you could get 10 days. That really does carry over to the Finals....not just the Conference Finals. That is really big. I would be practicing though....I have seen teams come off big rests looking like preseason

Leafs fire their Head Coach after 2 seasons. Dude...it is the roster...no HC can fix a broken roster. Only team worse in the Eastern Conference is the Rangers...and they are owned by Dolan.

Colorado came back from down 2 goals to win in OT eliminating the Wild 4-1. That...is experience. They will be very tough to beat. They are in the same boat as the Hurricanes in that they get a fair amount of rest waiting for their opponent in the Conference Final

Oilers fire their HC. Another example of it isn't the coach...it is the roster. Now...I will be 100% up front...I cheer every time the Oilers fail. Not because I hate the team. I hate the girl I dated from up that way that loved the team. You can have the best line in hockey...but if your opponents don't give you Power Plays...you just dominate the other 2 lines and in a series....good teams can beat them. This is a GM problem. Oh well. Conner needs to leave to get a Ring if that is what he wants

Bowman won't be able to solve the problem either. He was the overseer of the decline for the Blackhawks roster (true there were salary considerations), and I don't think he is a good evaluator of free agent talent.

I really have no clue about the Montreal/Buffalo Game 7. I think home ice means nothing because Montreal has won twice on Buffalo's ice and Buffalo has won twice on Montreal's ice. Sabres host Game 7. But what i do know...loser goes home. This series had had a lot of bad fundamentals...including some really bad stretches of goaltending. I just can't see either team not being swept by the Hurricanes in the Conference Finals. They both need a couple more years to develop.

Sabres are outplaying them with good pressure,Montreal still might get a freak bounce though or a power play.
6 minutes to go.

Man...you just can't skate all year to earn Home Ice in a series and lose 3 Home Games. That is crushing. Especially after pulling their asses out of another slow start. How many times were they down by 2 or 3 in this series? I don't see the Sabres here next year. I really hope Montreal can make the next series interesting...but man...I don't know how?

Gimmie Montreal in game one.

Teams coming off a 7 game series facing a team with a week or more of rest are 7-1 in the opening game.
