Possible. This is a matter of skilled players. Those saying otherwise make an assumption...that teams at this level are created equally. They aren't. The Hurricanes are simply a better team in every standard. That is not a criticism on Montreal. If people read my posts from a series before....I said that team could surprise people. And they have. Butthey are not an Aves. They are not a Vegas. They are not a Carolina. Those 3 teams are the cream of the NHL right now...with the Aves at the pinnacle.I hope Montreal gets swept by Carolina.
I don't know. I didn't watch a lot of their season's games. What i have heard...is things like...when they needed this or that they did it all season. I didn't see that at all in the Playoffs. What i saw....was a team that lost 3 Home Games when it mattered....and constantly started games down 2 or 3 goals. Makes me wonder how much of their magical season was luck? Cause luck always evens out. And luck...can be very important. But if a team believes they were where they were partially because of luck...and not putting themselves in that place...I can see what happened in this series catching up. They did not play well at all in my opinion. Is that coaching? Lack of experience? Or roster? Or luck? Or just a series of bad games catching up? Or the difference of a series...versus a bunch of individual games? Right now....I look at the Sabres as another Patriots team. They deserve credit for their season...but my gut is saying they overperformed...and they still need a lot of work. I think next year could be either a lot of fun...or very difficult for their fans. I really don't know.As a Buffalo fan, they had a great year..sorry it ended sooner...they will be back again next year..
