Everything Hockey

Love seeing others post.

Chicago just don't have the physicality to play from behind. They need to pick up some grit from somewhere. But....having said that...this game should never have been this close. Chicago never quit and their goalie played his heart out. I was not impressed with the Bruins.

Holy fuck. Last I knew Habs were up by 2. Oops...looks like they forgot about Austin. Gotta dig up some film

Edit: see...nothing fancy...just cleaning up the garbage. Hat trick for him on opening night. That is always such a great rivalry

Are you a Hawks fan?

Ya I definitely tuned in to watch Bedard! I’m a Canucks fan so we’re rivals…
Kraken fan

But I live in Kentucky...so we get a fair number of Hawks games. Just happened ESPN had their game last night and TNT had it tonight. I was curious about the kid so I watched them both

apparently

The kid has insane offensive skills for his age...but zero board skills. His only attempt tonight resulted in a penalty. Lol. Give him 6 months...he is a sponge right now

Jets underway currently in Calgary. It was really a good sign that Winnipeg resigned Scheifele and Hellebuyck to seven-year extensions. We still have Ehlers and Connor covered. Heinola is already out possibly 12 weeks. 😢 I don't think the Jets are going to have a great season, but now that several players have been uprooted, it'll be interesting to see what Bowness can do now. :)

That's a lot like Patrik Laine when he first got started in Winnipeg. The guy could score more goals than anyone, but a lot of his fundamentals were questionable. Then he became a whiny little bitch when the Jets didn't roll over and give him everything he wanted, no questions asked. He didn't put in the work, and it showed. By the time we traded him to Columbus, I was done with him. Notice how he fizzled as soon as he got there. ;)

I hear you, BUT laine has far from fizzled. He had 52 points in 55 games. Year before that was 56 in 56. He’s now just a bandaid boy 😂

I forget where...one of the shows somewhere...they mentioned the Jets could be a surprise. Good luck

The Jets are ALWAYS underrated, and it's really frustrating. Some jackass yesterday tried to say the Jets GM was one of the worst in the league because he didn't "make a lot of big moves," especially in that 2018 season when we made it to the Western Conference Final.

This ignores the fact that something like 40% of NHL players refuse to play in Winnipeg. What the hell was our GM supposed to do? He's not the tourism bureau. :ROFLMAO:

Bedard will grow into a good one. He just doesn't understand the physicality every team has and how to have an impact on the boards. It is a big jump. The press needs to leave him alone. He is good. But not balanced enough for the hype they are giving him.

I’m am beyond happy that the season is back! Only hard part is finding places and fighting other people to get a TV at a sports bar to turn on ANY hockey game! Being in Houston can be extremely hard sometimes.

Not sure what is up with my Kraken...but that's two really shitty games. Big step down from last year

I hate hockey doesn't get the air time...makes it hard to evaluate how teams are playing when looking at stats.

Pittsburgh played non-physical against Chicago in their first game...and lost. Tonight they beat Washington 4-0...but the stats still point to an avoidance of board play. They did get down in front and blocked shots getting through to their goalie...so that's a start. My concern is the same as every year lately...age. And that is what I saw against Chicago. Smarts galore. Clean skating...but none of the dirty work that hoists the cup. But old dudes can't do that for the whole season...so I understand it. It just makes it hard to change habits late in the year.

The Cup is hoisted from the boards.

Stamkos is out for the Lightning game tonight. Still think they can take it from the Sabres...but I think it might be in Buffalo...so maybe not

My Kraken is hosting the Avs in the late game. Damn...I wish they were playing better. Maybe they can get a point?

Tomorrow TNT got the Pens at Detroit. Fuck...the Redwings have won more games already than last year...ok...I am lying...but they be putting in goals. Will be interesting to see how they skate

I have not been impressed at all so far. :( I do not like streaming the games off NHL It sucks. So I am glad tonight is ESPN.

Oh this could be good. One fight and several great hits...2 minutes into the game. Leftovers from last year when the Kraken eliminated the Avs in the first round
