Everything Hockey

Watched both Boston teams blow late leads. Bruins had a 4-3 lead with 5 seconds left and lose the game in OT 5-4. And the Celtics, nah, nevermind.

Bruins beat the Panthers 3-1 tonight and are now 14-1-3. After 100 games since becoming the Bruins’ coach, Jim Montgomery is 79-13-8.

Sabres came back from 2 down to win against the Pens....it got a bit scrappy at the end. I think the ice was in pretty poor shape at the end...it looked soft...lots of odd falls.

Hope the Bruins don’t have to play the Red Wings in the playoffs. They’ve lost two regulation games this season, both to Detroit. Ugh

So the Blackhawks put Corey Perry on unconditional waivers to terminate his contract for "unacceptable conduct" and "for the safety of the team". I can't find any information as to what he did. Anyone heard anything?

Yea...I am getting nothing.

I just watched the highlights of the Panthers Senators game from last night...that was a first

Ref: and everyone that was on the ice...that's a 10 minute misconduct. Fuck...he sent 2 whole lines to the showers.
I read about this this morning. Crazy!

That game was getting out of control and the refs needed to put an end to it before someone got seriously injured.
With the number of penalties being handed out in that instance. The ref would have had to write it all out and then read it at center ice in order to get it right. Kudos to him for just saving time and some confusion by just saying everyone on the ice was getting a 10 minute misconduct.

I love the renewed talk about Patrik Laine after he was a healthy scratch a couple of weeks ago.

"What's happening in Columbus?" Another coach is tired of Patty's bullshit, on top of the never-ending train wreck that is the Columbus Blue Jackets. It's not hard to connect the dots on this one, especially considering Johnny Gaudreau got benched with him.

"Is Patrik Laine unhappy in Columbus?" Of course he is. But here's the thing: Patrik Laine will never be happy anywhere! Laine wants teams to give him everything for the asking, but he doesn't want to put in the work.

He was like that in Winnipeg. He was pissed off because Paul Maurice wouldn't put him on the first line when Laine hadn't really proven himself yet. Laine wouldn't work on his defense (and he has zero skills on D now), he wouldn't work on a lot of basics, he just wanted to be the goal scoring king. Unfortunately, that doesn't work very well in the NHL. You have to be able to play a more dynamic game, and he's not willing to do that.

"Laine could score 50 goals a year on the right line! He's an elite goal scorer." Bitch, please! Anyone who seriously thinks Patrik Laine is still an elite goal scorer needs to get the crack pipe out of their mouth. His days of scoring 30, 40 goals a year ended when he left Winnipeg. It's done. He'll never get back to that because he won't work at it and he probably won't get picked up by a team with enough support.

I'm calling it right now: Laine is traded out of Columbus by the end of this season. Teams with cap space in need of a good offensive player will line up to blow him with enough money to choke a horse. He'll go to some other mediocre team and run the same bullshit again. I anxiously wait to find out who the next fool will be! 😁

Chicago Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson addressed the wild rumors surrounding Corey Perry shortly after he was kicked off the team ... saying the winger's contract termination had nothing to do with superstar Connor Bedard's mother.

It had something to do off the ice. And whatever it was...it crossed a line of acceptable behavior. Whatever it waa...it will come out. Better to be in control of the narrative than allow speculation

"After an internal investigation, the Chicago Blackhawks have determined that Corey Perry has engaged in conduct that is unacceptable, and in violation of both the terms of his Standard Player’s Contract and the Blackhawks’ internal policies intended to promote professional and safe work environments,” the team said in a release. “As such, Corey Perry has been placed on unconditional waivers. In the event Mr. Perry clears waivers, we intend to terminate his contract effective immediately.”

Those are hard words.

On a side...the Blackhawks sent a 5th round pick to Vancouver to sign Beauvillier. My guess is they will bring up someone to replace Hall who is out for the season due to a knee.

Wonder what he done, I'm curious....

Rumors...ain't good. None of them. But being rumors... isn't there always some truth mixed in there?

My guess...he was inappropriate with someone that is important to the team. Like...maybe someone's mom? He was waived too quickly after what happened for it to be anything not personal. Blackhawks had to contact the League...Player's Union...his Rep...before they announced it...all in couple hours. Whatever it was...it was way over the line

Ah gotcha.
Reminds me of that whole Prince Fielder/Avisail Garcia thing in baseball,he slept with Fielder's wife and had a big fight in the lockerroom.Ultimately Garcia got traded out to the White Sox because of it.

I have said many times this season...I really like the way the Red Wings are playing. They are blocking pucks...they are playing tough on the boards...they are scary fast. And young. Well they just signed Patrick Kane.

Ok...you hear it first. Stanley Cup hoisted in Detroit. This is a huge huge huge signing. I know he won't be what he was...hip surgery is tough for hockey players. But he doesn't have to be. This is a very good team that just became scary
