Extremely well. Because I do have faith. How does that work?
I suppose you mean by that that it makes you feel good, to believe there is a higher power who loves humans.Extremely well. Because I do have faith.
I also do not need a personal video of God sitting across from me at a table drinking tea to post on line to know that He is real. That is what faith means to me.All faith is a form of wishful thinking.
Wishful thinking is not always wrong -- but it is always suspect, and you do not need to be a philosopher to see why.
It makes my life better. You will know the truth on the day you draw your last breath. I know the truth now.I suppose you mean by that that it makes you feel good, to believe there is a higher power who loves humans.
Wishful thinking.
If you had been born in another country you would know a different truth, just as true as any other truth. Otherwise known as 'an alternative truth'.It makes my life better. You will know the truth on the day you draw your last breath. I know the truth now.
If frogs had wings they would not bump their butts every time they hop.If you had been born in another country you would know a different truth, just as true as any other truth. Otherwise known as 'an alternative truth'.
Wonderfully well in my case. Because I have faith. I cannot talk anyone into or out of believing. I just do. I know that is a simplistic answer but its all I have,
So you're admitting the Christian Nationalists are basically Stalinists with different flags? It's no different than you having faith in Marx.
Islam, apparently.Exactly what do you have faith in. Whatever it is is not working, look around you.
I have faith in God, the creator of all things. Each and everything that is 'not working' is the fault of imperfect, evil, cruel, fallible, greedy human beings who believe only in themselves. He gives us all choices, seldom do any of us choose wisely.Exactly what do you have faith in. Whatever it is is not working, look around you.
What would it take to convince you God does not exist?I have faith in God, the creator of all things. Each and everything that is 'not working' is the fault of imperfect, evil, cruel, fallible, greedy human beings who believe only in themselves. He gives us all choices, seldom do any of us choose wisely.
If you don't believe in faith then why do you care about the state of your soul? It requires faith to believe you have one.Christian Nationalists have taken to calling themselves "people of faith" -- by analogy with "people of color," implying, "don't despise us for what we are." Not really fair -- you're born with your color and can't change it.
But what is far more disturbing is their wearing "faith" as a badge of pride.
The most odious, the most objectionable thing about Christianity is that it places VALUE on FAITH. You just can't get more wrong-headed than that -- faith is a vice, not a virtue. I am tempted to say a sin, since sloth is generally ranked as a sin and faith is a form of sloth -- it means giving up on any rigorous, skeptical inquiry into first things and just accepting what you're told.
Faith -- in the religious sense -- is NOT a good thing for human beings to have. It is not good for the state of your soul.
Nothing can ever change my belief and my faith that He is real. I have no selfies of Him, no tiktok videos sent from paradise, I have not heard His Holy Voice emanate from a burning bush but I still believe. That is why it is called.... faith. What would it take to convince you God does not exist?
If He is All-Knowing, He knew this would happen and did it anyway. Just saying. I don't automatically assume that a higher power exists, but we can't prove that one doesn't.I have faith in God, the creator of all things. Each and everything that is 'not working' is the fault of imperfect, evil, cruel, fallible, greedy human beings who believe only in themselves. He knew 'this would happen' but He set it all in motion to give us all the chance to change the outcome and make everything better. With few exceptions, all of us have squandered the opportunity so far. It still does not mean we should give up and stop trying,.If He is All-Knowing, He knew this would happen and did it anyway. Just saying. I don't automatically assume that a higher power exists, but we can't prove that one doesn't.
Your faith is WORTHLESS if you cannot even conceive of anything that would destroy it.Nothing can ever change my belief and my faith that He is real. What kind of Muslim are you?! You're talking about free will, not kismet! He knew 'this would happen' but He set it all in motion to give us all the chance to change the outcome and make everything better. With few exceptions, all of us have squandered the opportunity so far. It still does not mean we should give up and stop trying,.
I agree but I feel like there has been a lot of unnecessary suffering. He knew 'this would happen' but He set it all in motion to give us all the chance to change the outcome and make everything better. All by the hands of evil humans who decided it must be that way,I agree but I feel like there has been a lot of unnecessary suffering.

Well, most Christians believe in free will . . . except for Calvinists. What 'kind of Muslim' I am pales in comparison to what kind of person I am.
I am Shia Muslimah. I grew up all my life in the Christian faith. Both are very similar and deeply entwined in more ways than people realize.
Evil can try to destroy it but the final days are written in many Holy books. Until the last moment comes does not mean we should cower in the dark and give up. My faith will never be worthless because it is a gift given to me and its value cannot be measured in 'worth'.Your faith is WORTHLESS if you cannot even conceive of anything that would destroy it.
All faiths are different but the end goal is the same.Well, most Christians believe in free will . . . except for Calvinists.
