Garrulousness has the nudge of being over-animated and over-the-top that doesn't occur in talkative, while loquacious, which has similar synonyms, gives an air of amiability and a bit more poise. Insouciant's another favourite too.
Unfortunately, I get stopped quite often midsentence and asked to explain what I'm saying. It often confuses me as to what the other person's asking, as I tend to not know where the limits of most people's vocabularies are and am often unsure which word they're actually questioning.
