I've had great success there. I've met a ton of awesome people and am very happy with the experience.

What a lot of people don't get is;

A) FetLife is a social media site centered around fetishes. Not a hook up site. People chat, share pictures and experiences. Yes people meet up, cause yes, it's a social media site centered around fetishes but it's not Adult Friend Finder or Doublelist.

B) Verify your profile. It's easy and costs nothing. It tells the world that you really are who you are.

C) Interact with people. Follow them, like pics and videos, comment and chat. Go to the mixers.

D) Sometimes there is no local scene.

It's mostly a place for women, trans women, and femboys to advertise their OnlyFans accounts now.

I still login once in awhile to have fun discussions in different groups though.

Although if someone replies to one of my comments or I get a direct message from someone I immediately check their profile to see if they're advertising their porn. Cause I don't want to be lead on by someone who's only intention is to sell me porn. It never feels good finding that out mid conversation. Kind of heart breaking to be honest. I've had it happen a couple times where I think the back and forth flirting is a genuine connection but I'm really just talking to a salesmen who see's me as a potential costumer.
