Final Fantasy VII

Rael smiles warmly at Sirius, reaching out to take her hands and give them a gentle squeeze. "You know, Sirius, I don't know if the life of a wanderer would be suited to you. But you could come with me... If it would help? Might be better for you than having to return to Midgar at least.."

Rael seems lost in thought for a moment, just looking down at Sirius' hands. "If you didn't go back, do you have anywhere else to go, or..?"

Sirius shook her head. "All my family lived in Migar...and all but me have choked to death on the smog..."

She raised her eyes to Rael's. "Please, just take me with you... As soon as I find a place, I'll get out of your way. I just...I just need someone to help me start out..." she paused and awaited a reply.

"Get.. Out of my way?" Rael glanced at her concernedly, then smiled and gave her a tight, affectionate squeeze. "Oh no, if you find someplace, I was hoping you'd allow me to stay there also. Ah, Sirius, I'll always welcome your company."

Rael smiles hopefully, drawing up the warm blankets until they reach Sirius' shoulders before beginning to lightly run his fingers through her silken, soft hair.

Sirius smiled softly. "That's sweet of you, Rael... But I don't know how much you would like me around after spending a few days with me. I have a tendency to fuck things up..."

She sighed, looking to the window.

"But if we leave, we must leave tonight."

Rael couldn't help but give Sirius a fond kiss on her soft, irresistable lips. "Oh, Sirius, so far tonight I've dropped enough spiked objects on the floor of this town to stop parades. I've cut myself countless times with seemingly harmless objects. And worst of all, I walked into the wrong room in a hotel with clearly marked room numbers." Rael laughs in delight for a few moments. "It's mistakes like that which make life more fun, and without those mistakes, I'd never have met you. Ah, you can ask me that question again in weeks, months, however long we're together, and I'll give you the answer that I know now." He trails off slightly, catching her attention and looking into her flawless eyes. "I'll be with you however long you want me to, and I'm always around just in case. Now, as for tonight.. You wish to leave now?

"Indeed. I need to get as far away from anyone that could turn me into Shinra..." she thought of Reno. He wasn't a bad guy...but... Well, Rufus could give him quite a sum of money to return the run-away secretary.

Sirius laughed at the absurdity of it all. Perhaps she was just too self-centered; she probably wasn't all that important in the heirarchy that was Shinra. Her running away would probably mean nothing... For a moment she hoped that Rufus would send the Turks after her, just so she would know she was worth something.

Rael wondered what Sirius found amusing, his own mind working on a plan of escape. He recalled seeing a helicopter approach the city as he was sitting on a hill nearby. It must've been the same one Sirius mentioned earlier.

"We'll use the helicopter to leave. That should slow Reno down a great deal. Maybe we could stay at my home in Nibelheim for a short while? I have friends in a place called Fort Condor, although Shinra seems to be encouraging it's destruction at the moment." He laughs softly in genuine delight, "I'd never dreamed of eloping with a beautiful woman at my side, it's a very nice idea. But a pity we don't get much time to stay like this for longer.. " He sighs, then smiles brightly. "But you're stuck with me now, Sirius. Shall we leave now? Or spend a few more minutes like this?"

"We should probably go now," she spoke, removing herself from Rael and holding her hand out to help him up.

"I'm just anxious to get the hell away from here. We'll have another opportunity to be like 'this' again soon."

She beamed Rael a smile.

Rael reaches out and takes her hand between his, smiling back just as brightly. "Yes, let's leave this place and get somewhere safer."

He slid off the bed and onto his feet, reaching into a pocket to retrieve a small Ribbon. He handed it to Sirius. "Please, take this, it will protect you from many things.." He smiled fondly from the image of her with a ribbon in her hair, but he knew that you could wear that particular Ribbon around your wrist if you wanted, and it would still bring protection.

"I look forward to that, Sirius, I'll lead the way out of the hotel, then you could provide directions to the helicopter." His voice had a serious tone to it, although he still leaned in close to Sirius and touched his lips to hers. "Please, let's both be careful now.."

Sirius nodded, tying the ribbon to her wrist. "Hopefully Reno is drunk and passed out by now... Then there would be nothing to worry about."

Sirius and Rael made their way outside of the motel room, looking each way to make sure no one was about. It was all clear.

They made their way down the hall; Sirius held her breath as they passed Reno's room. Thankfully, he didn't seem to hear anything outside worth checking out, that, or he was asleep...or just out of the room somewhere.

Rael was also tense as they passed Reno's room, but relieved as they made their way down the stairs. He glanced around to make sure Reno wasn't laying in wait at the lobby, he wasn't. He swiftly strode to the main desk and gave in the key for his room. "I have some business elsewhere, so my stay must be shortlived. Oh, I know I paid for four nights, just keep that change." He smiled winningly and glanced over at Sirius, then began walking towards the doors, keeping his pace slow and relaxed until he felt her hand grip his. He held the doors open for her with his right hand, tightly holding her hand with his left.

"The helicopter is this way," Sirius spoke softly, leading Rael out into the night. It wasn't long before they reached the machine.

"Hopefully the noise won't bring Reno's attention..." Sirius thought outloud. She was pretty sure it would, but maybe if they hurried...

Sirius jumped into the cockpit of the helicopter, beginning to activate some switches.

Rael smoothly slid into a passenger seat in the back of the 'copter, sliding the door shut and putting on a safety belt. He was sure that if they hurried, Reno wouldn't have a chance to catch them, he grinned. "I'm ready back here, how are things looking in there?"

"Good," Sirius replied, starting up the helicopter. The engine began to roar, and the machine slowly gained speed, the wind of the propellers causing strong ripples of wind against the buildings of Rocket Town.

The helicopter lost contact with the ground, slowly ascending...

Ewan returns

Ewan kicked himself for falling asleep after tracking them all day, if it hadn't been for that damned spiked thing that his hand had caught on the floor he would have slept right through Sirius leaveing with her new friend, but he had awoke and seen them walk out the front door. He couldn't lose her not yet not before he made contact. Ewan followed them to the copter and again latched to the bottom as it took off.

Rael had been feeling uneasy ever since leaving the room. He made sure the doors of the 'copter were locked then sat in the cockpit next to Sirius. "Where should we go first? Do you think that the 'copter has enough fuel?" He couldn't recall being so nervous, technology always interfered with his spiritual senses. Rael sighed. He began to think on how they could escape tracking. Where would the least likely place be that Shinra wouldn't search? "We should go somewhere inhospitable for a while.. Then abandon the 'copter, maybe? Shinra would probably search for this."

OOC: I'm afraid that, for medical purposes, I have to stay at hospital for an unknown length of time. I can hope for sometime next week, Friday at the latest. I'm sorry for this inconvenience.

Sirius glanced to the gas gage. "We have enough to get somewhere," she replied.

Rael's questions about Shinra searching for them concerned her greatly... She was already in enough trouble for fucking up the Turk's mission; Rufus would be pissed beyond belief if he heard of her running away, not to mention stealing a company helicopter. And if Reno were to ever find her... She didn't even want to think about it.

"I don't even care where we go..." Sirius spoke softly. "We just need to get out of this place, and away from Shinra..."

Sirius thought of where it is that the two could flee, but she couldn't think of a single place that Shinra workers would not be.

"I think our best choice is to ditch the helicopter as soon as possible... I'm tempted to crash it into a cliff side or into the ocean. We could jump from the 'copter... I know there are parachutes in here."

Barret

Sitting alone in a torn down Midgar, he gazed out of the window.
Seeing only despair made him think.
"Man, I gotta get back with Avalanche. I can't stand being locked up like this."
He took a filthy napkin from the table and spat in it, shining his heavy gun-arm with it.

Most of the people in town didn't even notice him gone, except maybe for the new owner of Seventh heaven.

With plenty of ammo at hand, he went on a trip to find whatever was left of his old crew.
Along with them he could finally get back at Rufus, Shinra, SOLDIER and maybe even elusive Sepiroth.

As he left town he thought about what could have happened to Cloud, Tifa and the others but he figured he'd probably find out along the way.
