Fire Side Dancer

Rahn happily kissed Tora deeply and passionately while he lay on the ground. They stayed like that for a long while until Rahn got a small glimpse of the fading light though Tora's hair and the leaves of the trees. he was lucky he did. They needed to race back so they would not be late for dinner. He sat up so that Tora ended up kneeling in front of him. He smiled at her and kissed her softly before he spoke. "We need to get going. Once I finish dinner tonight I'm going to go talk to one of the elders about us. I know just the one to talk to, he likes me a lot. Hopefully he will understand, though he will probably want to talk to you was well after he talks to me."

As Rahn sat up Tora backed up until she was kneeling before him. Brushing her hair back over her shoulder she smiled at him as he kissed her. Nodding her head agreeing with him, "I am sure he will understand and if he wants to talk to me, then I will talk to him. I will tell him how much I love you, and that I want to be by your side." Tora looked up at the trees above them, and saw the light had faded. "We had better go," she said slowly getting to her feet. She really didn't want to leave, she wanted to stay with him here forever.

Rahn smiled at her response. He kissed her softly and got up. He moved to Rain and mounted the horse. He waited for Tora to mount Dancer before he started Rain walking along the river back the way they had come from. He didn't really want to go, but they didn't have much of a choice. Tora also seemed very dissapointed that they had to leave. He tried to cheer her up with a smile. His smile turned to a grin as he started Rain going faster and called out. "I'm going to beat you back to the stables. You and Dancer have no chance now that Rain is rested." He then broke into a decent run, but allowing Tora to catch him before going to a full gallop.

Tora climbed onto Dancers back as Rahn mounted Rain. Tora nudged Dancer into following Rain and then walking up along side them. She saw him smile at her and she returned it, but then a puzzled look covered her face as he started to grin. 'What was he thinking,' she wondered but it didn't take her long to find out as Rain started to go faster. Then he broke into a run, Tora nudged Dancer to go faster and called out to him. "We will see about that," she called and slowly Dancer started to catch up to Rain. When she got closer she saw him watched as Rain pulled away from them into a full gallop. Tora laughed and nudged Dancer faster, until she to was at galloping, behind them.

Rahn smiled and laughed as the race was on. They made it back to the point of the river they had reached at first and turned toward the village. They sprinted through the forest, trading the lead a few times. When they broke through the forest it was a final sprint to the stables. Rhan urged Rain to go faster. They reached the stable just a moment before Tora and Dancer. Rahn gave a small victory cheer and leapt from Rain. He moved to Dancer and lifted Tora from the horse. He gave her a deep kiss, then released her so they could take the saddles off of the horses.

Tora laughed the whole ride, enjoying the race. When she saw the stable ahead of her as they broke out of the forest, she urged Dancer faster. As they got closer she saw Rahn and Rain pull ahead and beat them to the stables. Still laughing as she slowed Dancer and let Rahn help her off Dancer. She only stopped laughing when he kissed her deeply. When he realised her she took Dancers reins and walked her into the stables, where she removed the gear and brushed her down. "Did you enjoy that ride?" she asked as she patted Dancers nose, once all had been done.

Rahn smiled and patted Rain after he got the saddle off. He led the horse to his spot and put everything away. He then returned to Tora. He smiled at her and kissed her softly. He wrapped his arm around her and turned toward the main fire. They could smell dinner. They were just in time. "Let's go get some food now. I'm hungry." He smiled again and kissed her cheek.

Resting her head against him as he wrapped his arm around her, heading to the fire. The smell of food was on the air, and suddenly Tora realised just how hungry she was. Nodding after he kissed her in agreement. "I am starving," she said, "I wonder how Kara and Tan's afternoon went. I hope Kara isn't a quick learner." Tora whispered as moved closer to the centre of the village.

Rahn grinned at Tora as she spoke about Kara and Tan. He too hoped that Kara was not a quick learner. They arrived at the center fire just as the food line ended and everyone else was sitting and eating. Rahn smiled. They were just in time. They got food and found Tan and the rest of the group. Rahn smiled at them all. "Before you all ask, yes, it was a nice ride. Tora beat me in one race, and I beat her in the race back. We had a good time. That's about all there is to say about it. So, you don't need to ask, just tell us how things went here."

Tora was happy to see that they hadn't missed dinner and that they weren't to late. Grabbing food she walked with Rahn until they found her brothers They all looked up at them as they arrived and as usual Ash opened his mouth but Rahn beat him to the jump and Tora covered her mouth trying not to laugh. Ash shut his mouth and Tan and Sol looked at each other. It was then that Kara spoke up seeing the brothers weren't saying anything. "My lesson went well, I think it did at least," she looked to Tan who nodded. "Kara is doing very well, she was struggling at first but she is slowly getting the hang of it." He smiled at her proudly and Kara blushed, Tora was happy with this.

Rahn was glad that Tan and Kara were getting along. The happier Tan was, the less chance there was of Rahn getting killed by the brothers. Rahn sat with Tora next to him and they mostly ate in silence. There had not been a lot that had happened, and Rahn did not even dare talk more about what had happened during his time with Tora. He was so happy about it that he wished he could shout it to the world, but if he did he would have three possibly very angry brothers going after him.

Every so often while eating, Rahn would kiss Tora's cheek and smile. He sat close enough that it felt very nice being with her, but not too close that it would have made it hard for both of them to eat properly. Rahn also thought about what he would say to the elder. He started getting really nervous and hoped that Tora's brothers didn't notice.

Tora focused on eating as she sat next to Rahn, she remained quiet one because she was more consured with her food than with any thing else at first and second every one else seemed happy to chat amongst themselves. Every time Rahn would kiss her cheek she would smile at him and some times kiss him back. Tora let her mind wonder trying not to think about Rahn talking to the elder, she was worried that something might go wrong.

Once she was finished her dinner she sat her plate in her lap and Ash looked at the two of them. Then with out warning he scooted over and wrapped his arm around Tora and pulled her into a hug. "What are you thinking about dear sister?" he asked her and lossening his grip she moved so that she was resting against him her legs streached out one touching Rahn. "Nothing, I am just tirade from riding," 'she said with a smile at him. Comfotable, this was a position they sat in quite often.

Rahn finished eating as Ash moved to hug Tora and sit with her. He smiled at them and put his plate down. He looked across the fire and saw that the elder he wanted to talk to was not busy. He got up and stretched. "Well, I need to go talk to one of the elders about the thing I built today." He leaned down and kissed Tora softly before leaving the group.

Rahn walked around the fire and approached the elder. Their conversation started about the platform he'd built. The elders wanted him to build more. Rahn agreed. Then the elder changed the subject in the way that Rahn had wanted it to change.

"So, young lad. It is rumored that you and young Tora have become quite the two lovebirds."

"Yes, sir. Actually, that is what I came to talk to you about." The elder looked at him and nodded. He already had a feeling he knew what Rahn would say. "You see, elder, I love Tora very much. I care more about her than anything in the entire world. I......wish to take her as my bride."

"Are you sure about this, young one? You have barely been here for a week. You have only known the girl for a few days. How can you be so sure it is what you want." The elder watched Rahn's face.

"I know I have not known her for very long, elder, but I just know that she is the one I am meant to be with forever. I have this feeling deep inside that tells me she is the one for me. When I am near her everything just seems right."

The elder seemed to think for a long moment while studying Rahn's face, looking deep into his eyes. When he spoke ha nodded. "I understand. However, I must speak with young Tora first." Rahn smiled happily.

"Thank you sir. Just one thing though. We ask your blessing over us, but we also ask that you keep it a secret until we are ready to tell the village. I am afraid that Tora's brothers will not be as understanding as you have been."

"I understand, young one. I shall keep your secret from the village. I must tell the other elders, but your secret will be yours to reveal to all others. I will speak with young Tora tonight. If I decide to give you my blessing you can both come see me together when you are ready. Good luck to you young one. Also, thank you for coming up with that platform. It will be a great help to the entire village." the elder gave a small bow to Rahn and then turned away once Rahn gave a deep bow in return. Rahn walked back to join the others again.

Tora leaned up and away from Ash slightly as Rahn got up, she returned his kiss and then smiled as he lift the group. Leaning back against Ash she watched him from the corner of her eye. "So what did the two of you get up too why out there?" thought the question sounded just like one of his usual jokes, Tora heard an edge to Ash's voice that ment he was being serious. "Nothing," she replied, he looked down at her and she looked up at him from her psoition of leaning against his chest. The look on his face said he didn't believe her, "Ash I swear nothing happened, there was kissing and he carried me over water, that is all." Ash looked at her alittle longer and then seemed to accept this answer from her. "Okay good," he said and then squeezed her tight. There whole convsation had gone unnoticed by the others of the group.

The whole time Rahn was over with the elder, Tora would glance out of the corner of her eye at him to see how it was going. Kara and Tan now that they had finished there dinner were back to lessons, Kara held the guitar while Tan was moveing her fingers to show her what to do. Tora saw that kara was really enjoying it, the small inocent touchs. Sol and Lia were taking about the market trip. Both Tora and Ash seemed content to sit there and watch silently. Tora saw Rahn come back and she tilted her head to the side not moving from her poistion, "How did it go?" she asked, reaching out a hand to him so he could sit next to her but she didn't have to leave her comfy position.

Rahn smiled at Tora and took a seat next to her. He kissed her softly. "It went well. They want me to build more of the platforms. It will make work around here a lot easier. They also want me to build some for villagers to sell at market. We also talked about a couple other things. Overall the entire conversation went well." He leaned in to kiss Tora and whispered softly in her ear. "He wants to talk to you at some point tonight."

"That's good," she said with a smile and as he leaned in to kiss her she leaned away from Ash's chest and she listened as he whispered. She kissed him and then pulled back and nodded her head, she would go see him later when she could get away from the group. Looking around she smiled at the little group that had formed, at first it had just been herself and her brothers, then Lia became apart of there little group, now Rahn and Kara had joined them, one happy little family, she thought to herself.

Sol looked over at Tora laying back against Ash and holding Rahn's hand and smiled, "So little dancer will you be dancing tonight or are you to worn out from your ride and will do nothing more than lounge against Ash?" Tora smiled back, "I suppose I can dance a few dances and for your information I am not lounging against Ash, I am holding him up." "I don't think so, your the one leaning against me," with that Ash started to tickle Tora, who squirmed and wiggled against him laughing. Pulling her hand away from Rahn, she cried through tears of laughter, "Help me."

Rahn smiled at the small exchange between Tora and her brother. He was also happy to see Tora dance. She always looked gorgeous in the firelight. Then Ash started tickling Tora. She cried out for help and Rahn laughed. He leaned over and wrapped his arms around Tora. He tried to tickle Ash a little to get him to release her, then pulled Tora over so she was leaning against him. He laughed and childishly stuck his tongue out at Ash.

Ash laughed as Tora called for help, but he got a surprise when Rahn came to her aid by trying to tickle him back. He really had no idea how Rahn would have helped her at first, but as he released Tora to Rahn's keeping he smiled to himself. He really did like Rahn, he could also see that he would take care of Tora and he seemed to fit in perfectly with the family. When he saw Rahn stick his tongue out at him, he started to laugh, yep he will fit in perfectly. "Fine have her, she was getting heavy," Ash said as he continued to laugh.

Tora couldn't help but laugh as she now leaned against Rahn. "Who you calling heavy, you eat ten times what I eat," she remarked. "Okay children behave before I send you all to your tents," Tan remarked looking at them. They all looked at Tan and then Tora looked at Rahn and then Ash, who looked at the two of them and then pointed his finger at Tora. "She started it," he complained playfully sounding sulky. Kara watched this with her hand over her mouth trying to hide the fact she was laughing. Lia and Sol made no attempt to cover there laughing.

Rahn grinned and laughed as Tan spoke up and Ash tried to blame it on Tora. He looked at Tan and rolled his eyes. "You're just jealous because you're not a part of all the fun that's going on. Go ahead, tickle Ash or something. It makes everything a lot better. I'd also suggest doing what I'm doing right now, but I'd rather not give Tora up at the moment. so you will just have to find someone else, because this is a really nice feeling." He smiled and kissed Tora's cheek softly. He gave her a little squeeze and then kissed her lips.

"I am not," Tan remarked to Rahn shaking his head. But when Rahn mentioned finding some one else, Tan looked at Kara with out thinking. When he had realised what he had done she quickly looked away, making sure he didn't look at Tora and Rahn as they kissed. He looked at Ash instead and Ash looked at him , "Your not tickling me, don't even think about it."

Tora paid no attention to her brothers but she did catch Tan's look at Kara from the corner of her eye. She returned Rahn's kiss, tilting her head up and back her eyes closed as they kissed. It was just as comfortable sitting with him like this as it was with Ash, but better some how.

Rahn started ignoring the rest of them. He'd seen Tan look at Kara and that was a good sign. Yet, at that moment he only cared about kissing Tora. It felt right to sit there with her in his arms. He gave her another light squeeze as he continued kissing her. He wanted to kiss her as much as he could before her brothers decided to get her to dance. He liked seeing her dance, but prefered holding her close.

Tan coughed trying to get there attention, but Tora paid no attention to him and continued to kiss Rahn. He went quiet not knowing what to do, he didn't want to upset Tora. Sol saw this and laughed to himself. "You two had better come up for air soon," he said helping Tan get there attention. Ash wasn't so polite and took hold of Tora's foot and slippin her sanddle of started to tickle it. Tora started to squirm and wiggle in Rahn's arms giggling . "Stop that's no fair," she said still squirming.

Rahn heard Tan cough, but ignored him. He also ignored Sol. He couldn't ignore Tora squirming as Ash tickled her foot. He looked up and pretended to be angry. "What do you want!" He then grinned and started laughing as he pushed Ash away from Tora with his own foot. "You got her attention, now you will lose it if you keep tickling her. She will be stuck giggling all night."

Ash was taken back by Rahn's angry and thought that maybe he had pushed to far finally. He was used to messing around with Tora but Rahn was new to this. Worried that he had spoiled it he went to say sorry when he saw Rahn's grin and heard him laugh. It was then that Ash realised that he was messing with him. Rolling to the side as was pushed, he laughed. Tora finally calmed herself down and was trying to breath normally, which was hard after all the giggling and laughing. But soon she sighed and looked to Tan. "SO you did hear me, what I was going to say was for you to let us know when you felt like dancing so the other two could get there drums," Tan said as he rolled his eyes at how full of energy the three of them seemed to be.

Tora looked up at Rahn and then smiled looking back at Tan, "I might as well start now, or at least when Sol and the torment over here get there drums." Ash got to his feet and so did Sol, "be back soon," Sol said over his shoulder to the group.

Rahn looked at the two as they went to go get their drums. He smiled at Tora. "Well, lets make the best of the last couple minutes we have before they get back." He then kissed her passionately. He turned her so he could hold her even closer. He wished they could still be out in the woods together, but they were not. He would have to take her back there some time though. It had been an amazing time together.
