Well, to be fair, almost everyone is significantly hotter than Duff.

But yes, Collette is REALLY significantly hotter than Duff.
And I have more hair! :rose:

Duff is a lot of fun, though. It looks like it'd be a blast to work there.
Plus, there's Reci!

Anywhere, anytime, as long as you're there. I'd even throw a party with you in El Pa*ducks*
The joy of Reci's company was a given!

And I refuse to party with you in the armpit of America.

With the money people pay for those types of cakes, they should taste as good as they look.

Wholy monkies, that is my philosophy exactly. Pretty is fine, but if it doesn't taste good, I wouldn't want to serve it. I shall have to open up a no pre-made fondant bakery of my own.

Thank you, lovely! I had a lot of fun with it.

No, most of the experiences that I've had with decoration involved piped icing, buttercream, and marzipan. Do you mean actually draping over a cake (covering it) or the swags that can be added on?

Oh yes. Chocolate draping can be used like fondant and is more pliable.

You can mold it, shape it, drape over cakes. It can be tinted, too.

And it tastes better, too!

It's fun to use luster dust on it, too.

These are just web pics, but you get the idea.

My solemn vows to you:
  1. I will never *huggle* you.
  2. I will never take you to El Paso, unless someone's life depends upon it (that we give a shit about).
There are others, but that's a pretty solid starting point, right there. A foundation, if you will.

I've only been through El Paso. I'm scared to know why it's so bad.

Ah. I thought that was where I lived.

heh

Don't feel bad. I get comments from others stating I live at the ends of the earth and in the middle of no where. And I'm actually thinking of heading to Alaska.

El Paso *shudders*

Thank you for posting those! More pliable would definitely be a benefit. I've been wanting to order some Choco-Pan rolled icing, which is probably the same thing or quite similar. Chocolate is the base and it claims to taste better and cover almost twice as much as fondant.

A right solid start, to be sure.

That's it! Try using it! I know there are other brands, but this is the one we hand on had a lot.

we were lucky, too, in having a HUGE machine to do the rolling out of the fondant. Sometimes, depending on the size, we used PVC, but that machine was a life saver.

This is not the end of the Earth, but you can see it from here...:)

It's the great, big, broad land 'way up yonder,
It's the forests where silence has lease;
It's the beauty that thrills me with wonder,
It's the stillness that fills me with peace.

No, it's not the end of the earth. It's heaven. It is.

From: South Florida Sun-Sentinel

" The 2008 Copper River, Alaska, salmon fishing season has begun. But you can expect prices to be higher for this wild salmon, given a ban on king salmon fishing in California and Oregon, according to Vern Oscarson, owner of Fish Peddler East in Fort Lauderdale. Look for prices of $40 a pound.

The Alaska Department of Fish & Game predicts that the 2008 sockeye salmon catch will be about 960,000 fish; the king salmon catch will be approximately 62,000 fish. Copper River sockeye salmon average 6 to 7 pounds; king salmon average 20 to 30 pounds, with some kings going over 60 pounds.

Both species of Copper River salmon are popular with chefs and diners for their high oil content, rich nutty flavor and velvety texture. These salmon have flesh that is much darker than that of other salmon, with the sockeye possessing a deep red flesh and the king a dark orange to red flesh."

$40/pound????

DAMN! I shoulda stayed being a fisherman......
