Gardening: Plants, Flowers, Veggies, Trees and All Things Green

I like the farm life thread, but I think it’d be good to share and give practical advice on all things that bloom, bear fruit, provide shade etc.

Share your plants, ask each other for gardening, and plant advice and enjoy the growing season.

Plants are sex after all, starting from seeds. (OK, it’s a stretch)

So watcha growing??
I have some very successful petunias growing, the key? Deadheading and mildly neglectful watering.

I was thinking similarly, yellow tomatoes.

So if they are not that, I am not sure.

Maybe try google lens or inaturalist app?

Awesome. My garden about done. Green beans and watermelon going good. Potatoes did ok, more onions than I remember planting. Phlox and daisies blooming good with recent rains. Flood watches in area past couple days.
Good luck! Our tomatoes are really starting to come in. Pumpkins doing okish. Sunflowers and beets are going. Potatoes and garlic seem ok. We’ll see.

We’ll be entering a bunch of stuff in the county 4H fair.

Phlox and coneflower really having a great year. Black eyed Susan are emerging and also woodland sunflower.

Day lilies are past their peak and fading out.

Good luck on the 4H contests!!

Our latest day Lily ever. I’ve been watching the pod for a few weeks, wondering if it would bloom. Well this morning it did. It flowers for one day (hence the name).

Usually, they bloom in June and July. But this one hung on for whatever reason…
