Bought a second hand Lenovo T420 i7 for 60 quid on ebay. Twenty quid for a new keyboard, fifty quid for 16GB of SODIMM and I have a beast of a portable PC for less than £150. Double happy.

The one I have has the dedicated Nvidia graphics chip, a 240 gig SSD and the 1600x900 display. I was looking into hacking a 1080p screen into it but it looks like too much hassle for the performance gain.

You poor soul. We use Lenovo's where I work and they are a pain in the ass. Their support is just as shitty.

I guess if you put some version of Linux (I don't know. We don't use Linux at work) on it it might run half decently, but any other OS and you'll be swearing your guts out.

Yeah, between my own knowledge and the vastly superior skilz of my GF, I don't think I'm gonna be calling Lenovo support too often.

The battery charge on the taskbar shows it at 90%. This happened after I fucked around with the power plan today.

I restored it to default, but it still won't hold.

A failing battery can show a nearly full charge but run down super quick (immediately) when unplugged.
There are probably instructions online for testing your particular battery with a meter.

I am thinking of taking it to the Office Depot store tomorrow. They do free checks.

New rig built, whisper quiet, cold as fuck even running 3D Passmark, looks awesome. Gotta run it for 24 hours to check for water leaks but looks good so far. I is a happy bunny.

I use a lenovo t500 with maxed out ram and half terabyte drive. good cheap boxes, very durable.

The t420 is a good kids box. Slow.

Bad cell in the laptop battery.

Get a cheap replacement on eBay.

It's not worth trying to diagnose/fix....cheap batteries can be had for $20.

My two year old was playing with my lap top:

Now when I drop my lap top in the docking station only the touch pad works correctly.

- Mouse moves correctly, I can minimize a window I can not drag in to a diffrent monitor.
- In excel Mouse will not highlight multiple cells ( I can click on a cell but not drag in other)
-Basically the hold and drag function is not there...

Yes I tried checking all the mouse settings in both excel and windows....

Any experts have a suggestion?

And if after that it's not showing anything, then the text you saw under the link is old data stored by the search engine. The site's metadata has been changed and the search engine hasn't updated it yet.
