Good morning to you and thank you for the "Hi". Its been busy around here too but thats okay. School is winding up and getting to be time for summer vacation for our lil one.

Somebody call the police .... my purple coffee cup was murdered, I liked that cup, I may even pout a bit. Accidents happen .... dangit.

For hump day ..... I'm off work ..... yeah me. My lil one graduated from sixth grade today, thankfully he was in the first round which started at 8 and finished at 10:15. Second wave started at 11. I can't imagine what senior graduation will be like if his class gets any bigger.

What's been going on with ya'll?

Massive teacher cuts in our county---Im worried there wont be much education left when my youngest gets to graduation age:(

they built a new high school here but staffed it without hiring a single new teacher---class sizes will be in the mid 30's next year

Are there any teachers assistants in the rooms? Ours stay at about 20 per room, sometimes less. All told its a great school but dang its big.

Our classes are actually smaller than they used to be, well where we are anyway, 20 ish is about average.

I'm not 100% sure how the grades match our years but my son is 11, almost 12 and I think thats similar to 6-7th grade.

Pretty much, my guy is 12, about to be 13, he'll be going into the 7th grade.

You are the one who ran off and got married darlin'....I'm still the same old me.

I had to check and see if you'd done anything wild and crazy while I was away. I know how you get sometimes.

All reports I've heard is the majority of the school districts that are making significant teacher cuts will go by the guideline of 'average of 30 students.' Those who are paying attention rightly point out that this means one class could have 20, the next 40.. the next 35.. etc, as long as it averages out to 30 at the end of the day. No aides- teachers only. Never mind that there are systems that are cutting teachers *and* going to a 160-day school year.

Education is one of my biggest soapboxes.. I ***hate*** what's going on.
