Germany online thread on Lit BB

When I was much younger, <biting my lip here> I spent a year in Germany as an exchange student. I've seen many of your posts, Rex and have toyed with posting in here. Toyed enough, I guess.

It is a dream of mine to someday return to see my friends and 'family' there. I'm sure I'd stumble terribly over the language again.

Best to you Rex. If you see me in Chat, say hi.

I'd love to go to Germany sometime. I've got "German blood", waaay back there somewhere. So far back that it is all thinned out by the Irish, English, and plain ol' "melting pot". I guess I'm kind of a human Heinz 57. I have an aunt-by-marriage from Germany....does that count? lol

Monday Noon Bump

12:00am here

Hope you all will have a wonderful week

Rex :rose:

Ugh. Noontime. I'm just getting myself going here.

What area are you from, Rex? I lived in a (then) smallish town called Zwesten. The things I miss most about life there is the way my german 'parents' went to the baker for their bread, the butcher for their meats, that sort of thing. I know things have changed drastically there. At the time of my visit, there was still an East/West separation.

<sighing> Someday...

SWM from Lux here. Saw invites to this German post. As a nachbarn thought I could post and say how impressed I have been with all the flirting going on. Well I should introduce myself. I am single, anglo-saxon, been in the are for a few years now but orginate from the UK. Really like Germany and the Munich Stark Bier and Oktober Bier fests. Veel spass. My German is aweful written but I get by spoken now after practice. Lie this site as an outlet for my dreams and fantasies. Look forward to seeing this thread develope more and thanks for starting it up.

Enjoy

Hi Monty. Welcome to Lit. What does "nachbarn" mean? And "veel spass"?

Lit is a really fun place to hang around. Get to "meet" lots of nice folks, like Rex and Neffie and Weed....and sooo many other fun people. Hope you find your niche and enjoy!

In my bad written German the first is neighbour and the second is have fun. Very apt at the moment as we have just had Carnival here OK not quite like Rio but still fun. Guys get their ties cut off by ladies in costume who then give them a sticky bun or a shoe polish. The tie of course symbolises something a guy does not want cut off like an event a few years ago to an American gentleman.

Not bad. I'll be better once it warms up here. Springtime in New England. Also known as Mud Season.

This ducky is wishing the puddle of mud would magically become a warm sandy beach with fragrant ocean breezes and handsome cabana boys. ;)
