Ever seen 'The Matrix'? Well, actually a very good and highly philosophical film that you should check out if you haven't already done so (the sequel 'The Matrix Reloaded' - in cinemas across Europe - didn't knock me off my socks though...). However, in the beginning, the main character is sleeping in front of his pc and a text on his screen says: "Follow the white rabbit..."
Perhaps that's more a film for people of my age... ;). Feel free to ignore my lame attempts of joking in the future...
I thought of making a sign saying 'joke' that I lift in the air everytime I'm trying to make someone laugh but I guess people would think I'm crazy.
And about that Sigfried thing: I would not mind being chased by the beautiful ladies up in here ...
Have a nice day

I can hardly remember the last movie I've seen in a cinema .... Lord of the Rings I I'd say.

And certain cinematografic genres are most definately not a matter of age but of a certain taste and therefor undiscussable.

Please keep on joking around ... we'll get used to it sooner or later. My own sense of humor is only mediocre but after all I'm not the navel of the world.

Hey, this "Follow the white Rabbit"-thing is originaly from Alice in Wonderland. They only used it as a message in "The Matrix" to symbolize the beginning of his journey. (or something like that, for example to show him the right way like in A.i.W.)

The funny thing is "The Matrix" is in fact a gnostic view of the bible, so some people like "The Matrix" and I think after they have watched every 3 parts they will have no clue they have watched the bible in a very modern version. (or very old because it represents the gnostic version)

Sounds like you really do have a clue about "The Matrix". I haven't read Alice in Wonderland yet, although I knew that they used elements of it in the film (e.g. the rabbit burrow-image) and I didn't realize that thing about the white rabbit... So as an officially approved Matrix-expert, I am very interested in your opinion on Monica Bellucci's role in "The Matrix Reloaded" - at first I didn't like that strange "you must kiss me as if you kissed them"-scene but by now, I think that it actually has a higher purpose.
What do you think about the sequel and about the trilogy's last film?

Have you ever had a dream, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?

First to the sequel, against most oppinions I like Reloded but I think there are some scenes that are... let´s say they don´t fit in right. I personaly dislike the whole dancescene and Morpheus speeches, and there was to much bullet time in the second movie. The scene where Trinity falls down at the beginning and the end, I was sitting there and I prayed "Oh... let´s the bullet time stops"
So, as a movie I don´t like the second movie but as the part of a greater somehow philosophical/theological work I think it fits in.
Neo as Jesus, Smith as the Demon called Legion etc. (I realy like Smith...)
The whole Movie has the concept of presenting Love as the key and so this kissing scene maybe tries to destroy this. All the programms are "Demons" in one form or another so this could present the Seduction that tries to destroy the Harmony between the two lovers.

Revelations will show the Battle of Armargeddon and maybe the destruction of the Architect, as I said it´s a gnostic view and in the gnostic view of the world Satan, not God created the world.
After this Jesus/Neo will rule and lead the people into the light.
I await a cataclysmic battle and Neo´s complete transcendence of the Matrix as seen at the end of Reloaded.

I have to say that I don´t like this whole "love is the key to our salvation"-thing, but hey he decided for love and the destruction of the mankind, that was a very interesting moment (ok, I have to admit that the end of the decision was clear to me) If you can´t save the one you love why save the mankind.

I realy don´t like this idea but I have personal problems with the idea of "love" so I think this is only my view of the "love=salvation"-problem.

so, let me bump this thread a little bit...

FoXxXtrot were are you?

Wooh, I'm here...
Sorry, sometimes, accessing the www gets hard for me and actually I'm having some probs finding a video-codec that Microsoft has obviously hidden on purpose to keep me away from watching my crappy videos.
However, you are one of many others that I have asked and that like "The Matrix Reloaded".
I think, the sequel was more done like: "let's take everything, we didn't have in the first one (e.g. a we-have-to-escape-from-the-bad-guys-in-a-car-scene) and all that stuff that the guys liked and then do another movie."
I didn't like that Smith-fighting-scene because I found it unvolunteerly ridiculous (is that "unfreiwillig komisch"?!) and because it was like "let's shoot it in bullet-time and from seven-thousand million different angles so it looks cool". But you're right, Smith is one of the most interesting characters although I found the reason for his "super-powers" kinda, let's say dumb.
And I didn't like almost the whole first half because it mainly consisted of strange people jumping around in a strange cave and about some really ridiculous pseudo-soft-porn-scenes (Neo and Trinity, eh?!).
In the end, it got better and better and I was short before liking the film when it stopped and said "to be continued...".
I didn't like that "to be continued"-shit when I was still watching Star Trek on tv at home, either. And, hell, I don't fucking like it in a movie in cinema, man!
I missed the philosophical thoughts that made the first part one of my favorite movies ever and I think, the second part was too mainstream-adapted with all the action- and fighting- and romantic loving-scenes. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed but so was I by the other movies I saw the last months so perhaps I just expected too much...
Again, sorry that it took me so long.
And if somebody knows, where I can get a Windows-Media-Video-8.00.00.4477-codec or a "Windows Media Format Software Development Kit V.8" (or something like that) that works, tell me. Please!
Perhaps, there's even someone who can explain all that crap to me. It sucks!

Oh, hey, Rex, don't get me wrong but I like your new pic more than that one before... :)
And Andreina, of course, we're always happy when you are here! :rose:

What kind of movies do you mean? avi? ogm? or wmv?

Maybe I can help you? Do a search for the Nimo Codec pack in google, in this pack there are a lot of codecs. Oh, before I forget... only choose the codec you need and install it, you can do some damage to your system by just pressing install.

Oh, yeah and I think it realy was "unfreiwillig Komisch" the same with the party scene etc. and the end... I hate this too.

As I have written I will begin to study agricultural science in september. I would study philosophy but you can´t earn money with this so my choice is made. Sometimes it´s a shame that you need to earn money.

Middle east studies and modern history, hmm sounds interesting

Rex1960 said:
yup, LO, this "earning money" thing is overestimated

Oh, how I love my vision of an anarchistic world without money but I think this dream will never come true. (ok, maybe on a small island somewhere far far away but not here in good´old germany)

Rex1960 said:
even Tonga and Bora Bora know money by now ... too bad

Jep that´s realy bad... the world would be a better place without money I think or even worst (that depends on the humans)

money's just a tool

in the wrong hands it's an evil thing

in the right hands it might help feeding the world

i would have studied archeology if i'd live in an anarchic society.
life's a piece of globalistic shit :D
