He smiled, glad that as his last year teaching the three, they hadn't completely failed. He nodded, and tried to continue the topic. "Do you need any help with basing or some paperwork of any sort?" he asked her. He picked up Jacob, and put him in his crib. He immediately curled up and went to sleep.

She looked at him something was up, but she couldn't really say anything about it so she just nodded. "Yes I Have a lot of grading could use a hand" She said with a smile on her face and took out all the papers which was over fifty. "I don't know how you managed to do this without help" She said happily.

He smiled. "I've been doing this for well over a decade. I learned," he answered. He grabbed half the stack, and set to grading them. As usual, Crab and Goyle failed. Malfoy was average, Potter did very well, Weasly average, and Granger well. Now that Severus was teaching Defense Against the Dak Arts, the grading system was different. But he had adjusted over the past year. His class, however, was one of the least liked.

She smiled "Yeah I was always curious how long you have been a professor" She looked over the papers and began to grade them, she smiled seeing some of the marks she had to give. Many of them were A's or B's. But that was the American grading system but still that was what she figured they were if she graded them in the US. It took a good two hours but she enjoyed it, looking up at Severus. "How did Draco's friends do?"

H smiled at her question. And decided to answer her, but she probably already knew. "Well, in Amaerica you would call it an F," he said, joking. But he knew that they were learning the Dark Arts, so learning how to defend yourself against it when you use it is kind of awkward. He finished up his papers, and saw that so had Emily.

She looked at him and winched "Ouch that isn't very good" Getting up she put her tests on the ones he corrected and smiled at him lovingly. She sat beside him and wrapped her arms around him and kissed him, smiling a bit. "Well your a good professor Severus just some kids can't handle potions class. If I had been in your class I would probably be like Hermione and then day dreaming about my sexy professor" She grinned nudging him a little and giggled.

He grinned at her comment, and wrapped is arms around her as well, kissing her a second time. "We'll, I can flame you there," he said. But then a cry from Jacon brought him crashing to reality. He knew that right now, dirty talk or I appropriate actions would be witnessed by their child, and he didn't want that. He let go of Emily, cleared his throat, and sat still. Jacob had stopped crying, it was really just a slight yell. He grinned as if he wanted to break them up.

She smiled kissing him back deeply and before she knew it there son began to yell, pulling away from Severus and noticed there son was quite after that. "Well I see you have your daddy's sense of humor Jacob" She chuckled a bit and looked at Severus. "I guess our little Jacob has both a bit of me and you in him, he has your look and my personality so far" She giggled happily.

Severus grinned. "He got the best from his mom. If only he got her looks as well." he commented. He heard her giggle, and he chuckled himself. He walked over to is son, and kissed his forehead. "I hope that one day, when I am old and you are still young, I am look at you, and be able to say 'See that handsome man over their? He has surpassed both his father and his mother.' I could have no greater joy." he whispered into his sons ear. He felt that Jacob understood every single word.

She watched what he was doing and smiled as he talked to there son, and heard a couple things he said and she placed her hand on Severus's back. She hoped that Voldemort wouldn't try and take him out with the killing curse. Any other way and she could bring him back, looking down a bit she silently sighed. "Sooner or later this will end, and Jacob will grow up and we will see him grow up Severus. And who knows maybe he will have a brother or sister some day" She always looked to the good not the bad on certain things.

He smiled weekly, hoping that would be true, but at the same time not. It was an odd feeling. He gave a quick glance at the clock, and saw it was almost five. He looked at Emily, and urged her to go to dinner. "Go on, it's my day to be with Jacob." he said. As she was leaving, a thought crossed his mind. He quickly asked Emily before she was outside. "Em, can I watch Jacob again tomorrow, and then you watch him the day after next?" he asked her, hoping she would agree.

Before she could leave he stopped her with his words, and she smiled at him and nodded. "I don't mind Severus, take the whole week off if you like." She said happily and shut the door. She didn't know what he had planned but she went to the hall to eat dinner, and of course it was just a nice dinner though she missed her husband. After dinner she took a long walk taking the long way back to there room and headed back.

Severus fed Jacob, and ate himself, and then waited for Emily to return. He knew that dinner had ended, but Emily hadn't returned until half an hour later. no doubt she took the long way back. He didn't mind. As she entered the room, he prepared himself for bed, wanting to get a good night's sleep. He changed into his night clothes, brushed his teeth, and then slipped into bed. He fell asleep quickly, and had a dreamless sleep. Not a single word was uttered during the entire evening and night.

Emily got into bed right after him as well and even cuddled up to him, behind him pressed and her arm draped over his hip. It was a rather lovely night to be with him. Yawning a bit as she cuddled up even more so. Falling asleep and not having any visions during the night which was nice, she didn't even realize when she fell asleep.

As Severus awoke, the first trout that entered his mind was simple, yet dreaded. He had one day left until he had to do what Albus had asked of him. He wanted this day to never end, he didn't want tomorrow to begin. But he knew it would. He quietly got out of bed and got ready, all before Emily even stirred.

Emily sensed something was a miss and didn't know exactly what it was. But she couldn't do anything about it, she woke up and noticed Severus was already up and moving around. Standing she knew something was up but knew he wouldn't tell her, so she got dressed and enjoyed herself a bit. Picking up there son and cuddling him "Severus is everything okay?"

Severus was already preparing tea by the time Emily awoke. Hearing her question, he nodded. "Yeah, everything is just fine. I just woke up early and couldn't fall asleep, so I decided to get some work done early." he told her. He put the kettle on the stove and sat down on a chair at their table. He strummed his fingers against it, humming silently.

She walked up in front of him, stroking his cheek "I wish you could tell me what's going on, you shouldn't have to be the only one to carry such a burden" She said with a loving smile on her face. She really did love him more then anything, accept maybe there son of course. Looking over her shoulder she saw Jacob asleep in his crib. She didn't even need to give him herbs the night before, he was starting to sleep through the whole night.

Severus shook his head. "No, I should be the only one to carry this burden. It is a heavy one, and I don't want you two to carry it." he told her. The tea had finished, and this time, he poured three cups instead of two. Two mugs for the two of them, and one small cup for Jacob. He mixed some sugar in all three of them, and handed them all a cup.

She took the cup and smiled at there son, looking at her tea she saw something in it. And began to sip at it silently. "I remember our vows Severus, for richer for poorer, sickness and in health till death do us part.." She said looking at him. "In the end I will carry it as well, I want to. You found a piece of peace and I want you to have it" She sat back thinking. She finished her tea and washed it "You still want me to take over today?"

Severus nodded. "Yes, I still would like for you to teach my classes today." he answered her. He sighed, sipping his own tea. The sugar gave him some energy. Jacob sipped his own tea, and immediately felt energy. He soon became hyper, and Sverus knew any more tea and he would hit the roof. He took his cup and poured it out into the sink. Jacob was upset, but he soon calmed down. Severus poured him another cup, but this time no sugar.

She nodded and saw how Severus acted and smiled happily at him, sighing a little bit she looked at there son and knelt down. "You be good boy for your father okay, don't wear him out" She ruffled his hair and hugged him. Standing up she looked at Severus, she sensed the sadness in him. She read his body language and knew something bad was to happen. "I'll see my two favorite men later" Walking over to Severus she kissed him and opened the door heading for breakfast then doing a whole lot of thinking. She didn't know what was to happen.

She listened to everyone speak but she said nothing, sadness in her heart she showed the smile. But deep down what was to happen was hard on her. Taking a deep breath she just shoved off to her first class and it went smoothly of course. But the whole time she was thinking of the trouble, perhaps everyone else could sense it she didn't know.

Thankfully, Jacob wasn't too hyper for the day. He weared out at about 11:00, and that gave Severus time to prepare lunch. He made some rice with meat, as well as a delicious sauce, and it took about an hour to prepare. By the time it was almost done, Jacob was almost jumping out of his crib because of the smell. Once it was finished, Sverus put Jaob's in his chair at the table, and filled their plates with food. All of Jacob's utensils were plastic, preventing him from stabbing himself. He was a messy eater,p; half the food didn't rech his mouth but his face. Severus was amused at this, and Jacob had a sly look on his face. Once they were done, Severus washed the dishes, as well as Jacob, and they took a nap. Both of them fell asleep almost immediately.

She began to think about a bunch of things, but that was between classes. Since she didn't let any foolish behavior stay. Sighing a little bit she finished up the first half and went to lunch, but she began to think of many things. Her heart was beating in her ears, Lunch was good. She was back to drinking wine since she wasn't breast feeding or pregnant. Once lunch was done she finished up the afternoon classes, and had everyone study for the test that was in a couple days. She sat at the desk while she graded papers.

Severus and Jacob awoke at 2:00, way after they were supposed to have lunch. Once Severus realized that, he rushed to cook something quick for Jacob. He had some eggs and potatoes cooking soon. It was sunny side up egg with French fries to sip in the yolk. He had had it before, and he had loved it. Jacob had also loved it once he had tried it. He ate it slowly, more neatly. Severus sighed, and the day whipped by I eventfully, filled with eating and nappings.
